My SW diary, by Bess.

Actually I agree with Jules, 23 really isn't too bad. Well done Bess :)

Hi Bess --

I was joking about the pineapple because we has discussed the fact aht my DS was told by our dentist to stop drinking it because it causes damage to the enamel, then someone replied with the sailor and lost teeth story.

And, I was also kidding re: Alli and the Dime syns, as I was certain she would know as she seems very fond of them.

23 does not seem too bad from what I have read -- and like Lelly cutting back on calories after a high cal day, you can draw a line under it and just be a bit more careful for a few days to make up for it. I am sure you'll do fine.

Mel

Red wine is good for you!

Thanks Bev!! :D Of course it is!

Um.....well I'd better be careful for the rest of the week all the same! Just thinking about having a whiskey instead tonight - only 4 syns!

Thanks Mel, Alli told me that Dimes are 7.5 syns ( might be 7?) And as you say, I shall be a bit more careful.

I'm getting very bored with my own cooking. The recipes in the SW book I have are nearly all basically schlopp and something.....and not very inspiring...it's not just the SW stuff though, I really am bored with what I do and this mob are a bit fussy, so fish is off, which I love, unless I feel like cooking 2 meals - and I don't. Lentils are another no no and so is offal......I bought some lamb, (having used all ours) last week and because I ordered everything from the supermarket to be delivered when we got home from a break it came from there. ( I usually always buy meat from our butcher). Well it was horrible, the smell as it was cooking made me feel ill, I think it was uncut tup - ugh - hence the Chinese meal instead - for 12!! The dog has been eating lamb ever since.

I'll have a look at Jules meals, they always look good....really I just want someone else to buy/cook/and wash it up - far too spoiled on my breaks away obviously.

Hi Bess,

I have been not the best with regards to my own programme, but I am working on it. Am rereading Beck from the beginning and will be weighed Monday by my CDC. I am hoping to have lost at least one pound, but I as I have not been drinking the water and have had too many nuts for snacks (high protein but also calories packed)... I am prepared for whatever comes.

Have you tried the SW forum for recipes?

Mel

Highs and lows Mel, highs and lows...

SW forum - good idea, thankyou.

Bess, do your family like eggs, tomatos and veg? If so there is a recipe on my diary some time back that although looks complicated is really easy to do.
Huevos a la Flamenca
Although you may also think this a bit schloppy too. Great served with SW chips.
There's a salmon one there too, but I think you said fish is out!

That's great Bev, thankyou very much. I remember reading this and now shall try it. I've printed it out, looks yummy.

Thai chicken curry and rice tonight, pretty good, even though I ate my own cooking! I plan to eat all the food I freeze and forget over the next few days/weeks so heaven knows what'll be on the menu!

Hi Bess,

Happy Sunday. I noticed that there is a very active and long lived thread on the SW forum entitled "What's for dinner tonight". I think that thread might be helpful.

Mel

13.9 :).

Good day yesterday, another coming up! :)

Thanks Mel, yes I remember that now, I'll take a look. :)
Beef casserole tonight with jacket potatoes and broad bean tops. Yum.

Scone and jam and cream, small piece of cake whilst out with OH and friends........

13.10

WI day and a 4lb loss, so beginning to get some ground back - good. I suspect if I hadn't had that pub chicken salad yesterday - with an unknown dressing, (I forget to ask them to leave it off), I may have retained my 13.9, but no matter, things are heading in the right direction. Working on my own today as usual, so shall take my own lunch and have it with my book in a quiet spot, have already lined up a park.
I decided not to continue with my class, apart from my other reservations about this particular one, I really do find it very difficult to get to. I think weighing in on here is still important though, it was on my mind last night and helped in making me give the pantry a swerve!
Feel positive again today to carry on, I want to get into the 180's next week, at least 3lbs would need to be gone by then and that would put me at 13 and a half, which I can also see as a mini goal so I'm going to give it a go. :D
I'm now the weight I was 2 years ago (am ignoring that I got lighter then heavier again in between) and 2st 6lbs lighter than I was at my heaviest.

Lots to do, busy busy day. Hope to skim other diaries later.....

Morning Bess, well done on 4lbs gone and yay for being the weight you were 2 years ago. No matter that you have meandered a bit in the interim. You are back there, which is great :D

Just picking up your diary from when I last read it, I can see that, like me, you are struggling for ideas and inspiration with the food. I just don't seem to have the creative gene when it comes to food. It's the same old. Chicken breast with either salad or veg. Salmon fillet with either salad or veg. Chilli or eggs and bacon. I so wish I could be ar$ed to follow some of the delicious recipes in the SW magazines. If I had a family to cook for, then I might be more inspired? When I read through the diaries on here, Little Sausage, Pommette, Gail etc., I am amazed at all the wonderful things they eat.....

That was the one thing I did enjoy about CD, the most stress in the week was choosing which shakes to buy on WI day :D No shopping, no cooking, no washing up.....marvellous. Having said that, the thought of another toffee and walnut shake is making me feel ill, must be bored with those too after 2.5 years!!! Hell, I'm so bored/boring I can't even be bothered to buy, open and drink a bottle of vino :D:D:sigh: xxx

Hi Bess
Keep up the good work hun - ok a bit of an up at the end of the week but you're 4lbs down on last week. Well done!

You said you wanted ideas for meal. Well, one of the ladies in the Overseas section (BritMumInCanada) has her own blog with loads of stuff on it.
Slimmimg Eats
I found it a bit tricky to navigate at first as I didn't see the index! D'oh. It's at the bottom right and you have to scroll down to find it. Some really good stuff on there.

Update
I do it at home but have access to SW online. So if you ever have any questions about syns or meals just pm or email me and I'll gladly help out

Well done Bess, that's great :D. Doesn't matter that it may have been more, if so, you'll see that on the scales next week :)

I suspect you know my feelings on home vs group. I mostly do this at home and it works for me, however I think a lot of that is because I didn't know any difference when I started. Some people need the motivation of a group, others don't. Only you can know how you'll manage.

Must go. Off to Universal today :)

Big hugs.

Sooo jealous that you're going to universal!!!! Let me know if you go on spiderman!!!

I second what Pommette said, the slimming eats site us great. I've made a few things from there and they've always been nom nom nom! I made that squidgy choc cake from there once and it was great!!!

No you wouldn't, the little blighters ( and the big one) are so fussy. When they were small, they were allowed to dislike one thing only, that worked a treat for a few years until they caught on.......but now some don't like fish, so that's a whole food group out, some hate mushrooms - well ok, some won't eat offal, so liver and bacon's out and so on.........one can't eat wheat.....

Thanks very much Bev, really great and much appreciated. I'm going to try the recipe I copied from you soon, when I have a 'home day'.

Well, today didn't go quite to plan. B and L fine, then called in on DD2 as I was working near and was press ganged  (honest!) into going out for supper with them.......smoked haddock fishcakes, veg, no chips... and 1/2 pint of cider.....Now I'm home and enjoying a whiskey and three giant chocolate buttons........what a lush I am. :D But a happy one!!

That's my girl!

I've just hard a large port & brandy. My excuse is that I've DGs all day so having it to settle my stomach. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Bess,

This is a wonderful loss. Congrats at being back where you were two years ago!
