My SW diary, by Bess.

Oh dear, you must really have it bad, hand the bottle over, I'll help you!

smoked haddock fishcakes, veg, no chips... and 1/2 pint of cider.....Now I'm home and enjoying a whiskey and three giant chocolate buttons........what a lush I am. :D But a happy one!!

PMSL. I loved the story about the children only being able to dislike one thing. I think that is absolutely brilliant !

I think you did ok today - choices were reasonable. Happy is good too. If you are prepared to accept the consequences of your actions (which it sounds like you are) then the actions were right and worth it. Where things aren't good is when you are kicking yourself for eating/drinking something you didn't want to and regretting it. Not the case here so well done :)

Good Advice from Gail!

Morning Bess -- Sunny here. I am looking forward to a walk with the little dog in a bit.

Morning Bess!!

3 chocolate buttons - That's what I call restrained!

It's great seeing you all getting back on track - now I just need to find it in me to join you ;)

And with clothes........ they got to pick exactly what they wanted to wear........... from 2 different outfits I'd already put out for them. Now it's 'first up best dressed in our house'. I've threatened the little blighters with murder if I catch them wearing my special comfy socks again, although I'm sort of flattered that my gorgeous 27 year old has purloined some of my tops, from when I was slimmer...

Hmmm, did the weekend away undo you? My holiday certainly did for me, thank goodness there was that long Cornish walk that got me fitter and burned off loads of calories! I wouldn't say I was a model of restraint yesterday either, I was so hungry all day, a punnet of strawberries, sushi, baked crisps, and a Dime bar figured in there somewhere as snacks but undeservedly so the scales are down by 1lb today! :D

13.9

catching up on your diary Bess... well done on the 4lb loss and for not losing faith! Trust me, there would have been trouble if you had done a runner! Now I just need to get back on track too... here's hoping!

How's your day gone today Bess?
In response to your question, no I can't sleep. Not feeling at all tired. Think I'm worrying about the audit! Now 05:25 and I have to be "up" again in 3 hours to go there.

Hello fellow night owl! After a few hours shut eye starting at 6.30am  , I'm up again for the fray.......hope your audit is ok.

13.9 still. :)

13.10.... hmm..... my own fault entirely, that and far too much chocolate.

I didn't want to hit like on this one! But I do like the chocolate idea - which is really unusual for me as I'm not a big chocky eater. Must be something in the air!

You have to ignore the midweek WI's. I'll shout at you if I have to but JUST IGNORE THEM :)

Hi Bess --

I hope your weekend is going well. I got out my body fat/water scale... and it is pretty useless unless I have someone to read it for me (my "eyes over 40" can't read the scale and stand on it at the same time! lol) I guess I'll have to weigh with DH tomorrow morning and have him write it down for me.

I know what you mean Gail and am only counting the Tuesday weigh, thing is I'm being greedy with too many treats so it serves me right really. Haven't even got on the scales today, no point really, so better get a grip again.......:(

My 2nd daughter had started SW by proxy now and lost 5lbs in her first week! 3rd D looks wonderful, nearly 2 stones gone and that's enough......why I am so weak willed? :sigh:

......why I am so weak willed? :sigh:

Bess - we're all weak willed otherwise none of us would be overweight and here on Minis!

We all have good days and bad days - you are obviously having a few bad ones. Says she sitting here with a glass of cava right by her elbow! LOL . . . and having had TWO meals out this week. Naughty Naughty Pommette - slap on the wrist.

Seriously though, try not to fret about it too much. Wake up tomorrow and go for it girl. YOU CAN DO THIS.

PS - and I agree with Gail - stop weighing. I've been nowhere near them today for my sneaky peak.
If I lose tomorrow GREAT. If I don't :sigh: then I'll plod on next week.

I am with you both on the weak-willed stuff just now. Not even panicking about it yet, in denial...

Hi Bess,

You are doing better than if you weren't trying at all.

It is better to tread water than drown... as long as you stay afloat eventually you'll have the chance to start to swim... so, keep your head above water and eventually you'll set sail in the correct direction! ;)

(I was inspired by Katycake's thread title)

Nite, Bess -- Mel

Sneaky peaking is ok as long as you don't take any notice of it and either get down or happy about a loss or gain (I know that sounds strange but weight does vary so you can go up or down for no good reason - I don't like surprises so I like to weigh every day but I don't take any notice of anything other than my Sunday weigh in).

That's what I'm doing Gail, but my weight is varying because I've been overdoing it.
.

13.12 today. Need a miracle by tomorrow's weigh in!
