Didn't know you suffered from the dreaded IBS hun ... is it linked to your cycle (noticed you are due *)?

I'm just in the process of trying to work out what's triggered my latest bout of IBS :( What's your trigger? Do you know?

When I'm good on SW but don't use my syns I become bunged up & cant go. I now have to make sure I have a few Thorntons moments - nit sure why- but it works . If I go off the rails and have too much sugar, fat or nuts I get the squits and tummy aches!! I am also lacto-intolerant. So if I have too much lactose I get the squits!!
I used to live off imodium and another tablet - the name escapes me but it aids painful ibs. None of the laxatives work for me - I have tried prunes etc but it sends me the wrong way so I can't leave the house!!
The only thing I have to take daily is deflatine. It stops the windy bit altogether iykwim! So I can have a normal life.

I've been good for so long I can't remember what triggers it! I used to have IBS which followed my cycle (very very painful during ovulation) but the docs weren't convinced so they opened me up, removed a cyst which they thought could be the problem, and inserted a coil whilst they were at it. Well the coil is wonderful - haven't had a period or bad IBS in 2 years ;) I can still trace my cycle ... if you look at my weight loss pattern there was even a spell there of a good loss every 2 weeks but for the past 5 weeks I lost consecutively ... should have known it was too good to be true! For the past week and a half I have been suffering terribly again and a nice little side effect was putting on 1.75 lbs!! (That came down from 3lbs by the way)

So, I am going back to basics and trying to figure out what caused this latest outburst.

So far, yesterday was a very simple food day and no pain. Same today. Fingers crossed I will find my trigger :cross:

Goodness- I'm afraid I have never been diagnosed - I feel a fraud going to the quack. I have had bowel problems since I was a child. I still recall having kaolin & morphjne!!
I have had the coil - with devastating effects - don't want to post it all , but needless to say I required major surgery and would never have one again!!

I never thought of it being cycle related. All I know is I sway from squits to not going and bloatedness and pain

Buscopan used to help me lots
