My Wise Main Meal (Including Gravy/Sauce) Recipes

SPICY PORK & RAISIN PASTA
Serves 4
11 Syns total plus 1 HEA per person on EE DAY

INGREDIENTS
Frylight
1 Onion, finely chopped
1 Garlic Clove, crushed
1 Carrots, peeled & finely diced
1 Green Pepper, finely diced
1/2 tsp Hot Chilli Powder
500g Extra Lean Mince Pork
400g Tin Tomatoes
2 Tblsp Tomato Puree
2 tsp dried oregano
40g raisins
1 pork stick cube
Salt

Pasta Shells (75g-100g per person)

1 tblsp pine nuts
1 HEA per person grated cheddar

Hear frylight in a frying pan. Fry onions & Garlic until soft. Add carrot, green pepper & hot chilli powder. Stir fry for 5 mins.
Add mince and stir cooking until brown.
Crumble pork stock cube over & add tin tomatoes, tomato puree, oregano & raisins & salt to taste. Simmer for 10-15 mins.

During this time cook the pasta and set the grill to hot.

Drain pasta and add to mince mixture. Pour into a Pyrex bowl. Sprinkle pine nuts over and top with grated cheese .

Melt under grill ( pine nuts will toast)

Serve.

Note (photos were with mozzarella - which I didn't like & thought cheddar would improve it)
Pine nuts can be optional as 5 SYNS , but I thought they gave an added crunch dimension.

"MY DADS" PITTA BREAD WITH MINCE
Serves 6
1 HEB each for pitta

(photos show a bit of charring - please excuse ;). )

INGREDIENTS
500g extra lean mince (any type)
4 small/medium onions ,finely chopped in a food processor
4 tblsp tomato Puree
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
2 pinches of coriander or parsley (dried)
Salt & Pepper
Frylight

1 HEB each of Wholemeal Pitta Bread (Coop or Asda)

METHOD
Split pittas and set aside

Set Grill to high (hottest heat)

Mix remaining ingredients together (mix well)

Lightly toast pittas

Thinly spread about a heaped dessert spoon of mince mixture across the whole pitta ensuring the edges are covered

Place under grill for 10-12 minutes, ensuring the meat is cooked.

Serve with salad & SW Coleslaw - yum

(you could also grate and melt some cheese on top)

The mince should easily cover the entire pack of pitta (6 splits into 12 halves). However if you are like me and there is only 2 of you , freeze the remaining mixture into 2 equal amounts.

Mine is a hawaiian pizza- the pineapple was added after cooking so I did not have to SYN it ;) it was a green day so the ham was a HEB & the cheese was a HEA and part of my other HEA.

That looks lush, I tried to make the dough out of HEB a while back and it was pants, was as thin as a piece of paper and not worth the fuss haha

So for 4 syns (I would split in half and have SW chips and salad with mine) I think it's totally worth it. Going to try this one next weekend I think so thanks for the recipe :) x

Thank you for this - just read through it and going to sort out which ones to make. New to S.W. and doing mostly GREEN but will make things like the prawn risotto using HE's.
First on the list is the lentil loaf - possibly tomorrow as I have this week mostly sorted but will do some shifting about.
Will let you know how I go on - thanks again.

Thank you - dried lentils cooked and are in the fridge for tomorrow to make the loaf.
I love cooking and adapting recipes so that is why I enjoyed reading your thread.
Will maybe put some heat spice through it but stick to your main recipe - will let your know tomorrow.

Now my first bookmarked page

Ahh bless.
I have never cooked lentils and then put them in the fridge ready a day before - that sounds a good idea!

LENTIL LOAF
Must say we were impressed with it - did put a few more bits in it.
Half a pepper that was in the fridge, garlic, cumin, coriander, garam masala and chilli - only small quantities of each but my OH does like his spices.
It was really nice - very savoury and not dry at all, just had a taste of it cold and looking forward to it tomorrow with some salad.
On the pics are S.W. chips (and sweet potato) which I am not impressed with at all - usually have Actifry ones with a little oil so next time will sin the oil.
Thanks for the recipe and looking forward to trying more of them.

Glad you enjoyed it- yours looks just like mine lol .
I was wondering about getting the Phillips Airfryer thing as it sounds fab - but a bit expensive and I don't know if I have the room!!
