Namastes 100 days.... time to move on :(

Day 49/100 Weight ~ didn't weigh.

Thanks for dropping by everyone........ I know you've read all my moaning but it's good to get it out right?

I think I've realised the reason for my slow losses.... DOH! I take a steroid inhaler every day, twice a day for my asthma. It's not a huge dose but it's a constant dose, maybe not enough to make me put on weight but perhaps enough to make it harder to lose? I should think that together with the menopause is making things a bit harder/slower. So, I've decided to congratulate myself for getting this far despite the steroids and menopause... a change of attitude is what's required not a change of diet :D

Off to work but will catch up on some diaries later. Will spend a bit more time on the Atkins/LowCarb forum too, I want to be as prepared as possible for when I finish my challenge.

Have a lovely, 100% day everyone xxx

Day 51/100 ~ Weight 13.3:D Halfway through my personal challenge and a loss of 23lbs so far, very pleased with that.

There's been a bit of mind 'adjustment' along the way. I won't do the '50-60lbs' I was wanting at the start but I'll be happy with 3st.
I've done a lot of whinging but hey, better out than in!
I've researched my options when I've finished my challenge and decided on Atkins. I can't ever go back to eating the way I was. This is the third time I've done Exante and definitely the last. If I go back to eating the way I was I'll be back here again. Much as I like Exante and what it's done for me I never want to have to use it again. Whoever said 'If you keep doing the same thing you'll keep getting the same results' was right. If you want something different, do something different! So, Atkins it is :)

Off to work now but will try and catch up on diaries later. Lots of new starters I see :D xx

Hey namste, you done very well. Preparing for re-feed or at least researching options is the best bet.

Good afternoon Namaste, sounding very focused and positive. Well done on the weight loss :hug99: xx

Day 52/100 ~ Didn't weigh. Went to my daughter's for the day and did battle with lunch! Wasn't too bad I don't think. DD had cooked all my food based on low carb specially bless her :D So lunch was green salad first followed by garlic mushrooms (with a vegan cream cheese stuff), aubergene, courgette and tofu bake. Then everyone had fruit crumble for afters but I had berries and cream. That was really lovely of her, especially as it's a vegan household. I just drank water too ~ blimey, that halo's gonna choke me when it slips!

So along with a shake for brekkies and a bar for tea all in all a good food day. I ate but they were good food choices based on the choices I'm gonna have to make when I come off Exante.

Plus, my Atkins book arrived today together with a little pocket carb counter book. Very happy bunny:D xx

Oh, and thanks for coming by ladies ~ how very rude of me:eek: First thing I'm doing this morning is catching up on diaries.... I'm very lax sometimes but I do read them a lot (as well as spend time in the arcade to keep me away from food) xx

How nice your daughter had planned ahead and diet friendly food :)

I have so say it all sounded very tasty. My mum is vegetarian/leaning more towards vegan. I sometimes find it hard to cook new dishes for her. I will have to hunt down that vegan cream cheese, I think she would love it!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Good afternoon Namaste, how thoughtful of your daughter, lovely.

Hope you're having an easy and fabulous day :hug99:

Afternoon namaste, Sounds like a yummy lunch! glad you had a nice time, its all about the choices we make once we finish with exante sounds like you are going to do great on the atkins, I am going to get the book and trhe carb one you mention and start swatting up on it for when i get to that stage (long way to go yet) xx

As someone once said 'failing to plan is planning to fail'. Don't know who but sounds like a sensible person! Only wish I'd taken that advice years ago :)

Day 54/100 I think ~ didn't weigh. Day 61 is my next proper weigh in which is next Monday so gonna leave it till then. I'm sure I'll be ok.

Not doing much today. Weather's a bit grim but if it brightens up we'll go for a walk on the beach or something just to get some fresh air! Reading up on Atkins and really think it'll suit me. After all, I haven't had anything carby (except a bit of ice cream on a meal out) for 54 days so I'm sure I can do it.

Catching up on diaries. I read them but don't always say anything but a bit of encouragement goes a long way eh? ......... Have a lovely 100% day everyone xx

Hi Namaste,

Do you find you miss carbs or do you not really think about them now?

I have tried atkins but only for a little while. I did enjoy the south beach diet when I did that and I lost quite quickly and found loads of yummy things to make.

Are you looking forward to having food again?

Hope your day has gone well x

ahh bless sounds like you have a wonderfull daughter. Glad your thinking about clear direction when you come off vlcd. Atkins is an excellent choice, read and re-read the book it wll help lots in understanding how to amlke the right food choices. There lots os helpfull stickies on thier forum too x

Hi namaste, was just having a quick read of your diary, hope you don't mind?! Bless your daughter for being so thoughtful, life is often full of diet saboteurs so good to know you've got some support! Looks like your challenge is ticking along very nicely, well done you :0) like you I'm thinking about how my food intake is going to change when I get to goal (mines going to take a bit longer than 100 days though lol!!) but having done Atkins before I thing it's definitely a good plan. Hope your research on it is going well :0)

Good afternoon Namaste, hope you're having a fab one :hug99: xx

My daughter, bless her, is an expert in hunting down alternative foods. She has several auto-immune chronic conditions so what she doesn't know about making tasty food with unusual replacements isn't worth knowing :)

Definitely worth doing lots of research cos we aren't gonna be on Exante forever and I'm sure none of us want to put all our weight back on. (again, again, again :))

Aaaw thanks for stopping by :) On exante I miss food full stop! BUT, I think I'm getting the hang of knowing what low/non carb foods to eat when I have to. I'm not gonna say I don't miss carbs, I love all sorts of carbs (I love all sorts of food) but I don't want to put the weight back on and I never want to do Exante again. What makes me think I can do Atkins is that I've already gone carb cold turkey so to speak. And from reading, the very low carb induction phase of Atkins is only for 2 weeks, you increase your carbs after that. Then for maintenance you can have carbs but not highly processed, refined rubbish food. Sounds good to me.

Thanks BB, really trying not to make the same mistakes again :)

I'm very lucky to have the full support of my family who are all annoyingly the right weight! Plus, OH cooks divine meals :) even though he's a meat eater, I'm a veggie and DS is a vegan.... now that's dedication for you. Will catch up with you ~ we need all the help we can get eh!

So the last couple of days have been a bit fraught. Yesterday I was starving all day, I mean my stomach didn't stop rumbling from the minute I woke up. The solution.... I had veg omlette for breakfast, a shake for lunch, a very long walk along the beach and a veg dinner. Oh, I had a bar aswell. That's not an exante day :( But, it is a very low carb day and what I could manage especially given all the food that was around and everyone eating, drinking and being merry :) Very happy with that.

Today I had a shake for breakfast, a bar whilst out on another long walk and a vegetable dinner with a bit of cheese. I will have my third exante meal today though ~ I'll also make sure that now the long weekends over I'll be back to my 3 shakes and the odd WS day from tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by everyone xx
