NannyDoreen & Upndown's daily diaries

Well done with your food, ladies! Gold star for both of you! :)

Loving the sound of your broccoli plants, Linda. That'd be great, just cutting what you need and then re-growing!

Hope you both get a good night's sleep tonight. xx

Thanks Kathy - hope you had a good evening - good night to you and have a peaceful one.

I'm off to bed now - been researching plants on the web and where they like to grow etc - always something to learn - my memory doesn't do me any favours so I have a gardening notebook - if I lost it all my plants would either die or grow into a jungle!

Doreen reckon you were right about gardening being body magic - feeling a bit stiff now! xx

Kathy loved your comments about the rabbits. Bought a smile to my face. Good day for you again Linda am proud of you, well done.

I have to revise my food for yesterday. Had a phone call from a sister which was ok but left a lot of thoughts in my head. Been up since 4am. That is ok, I feel awake. Unfortunately the phone call took me by the hand and led me to the kitchen. Here is the result.to cover. 5 bread 12.1/2.

I had to do it like this so I could remember what I am doing. A bit radical maybe but needed to do it.
My weight this morning was awful 6lbs extra  Anyway that is how it is, no use crying about it especially believe it or not I still feel positive. I am gonna do a page to type on here as I eat which may help me.

Glad your call from your sister was ok - but sorry to hear it got you up early - oops about that call leading you to the kitchen - here's a nice pink line for you to draw __________________________________________________ as always - please take care of it - I may need it back very soon!

Glad to see you're still in a positive frame of mind - that's what we all need to strive for - it's not a crime to have treats sometimes - as long as we get back to healthy eating - a lesson we all need to learn for life for when we get to target (notice I say 'when' - that's cos I'm feeling more positive too!) Good idea to type a page if it helps and keep posting!! :family2::wavey::queen::princess::flowers:xxx

Ok then - new plan - you can keep the pink line - it needs more care than a black one of course - more delicate you see - I'm sure you have a safe place for it. I'll see if they have any more pink ones in stock - where do I buy them from I hear you ask - well THE ONLINE LINE SHOP of course!! Hee-Hee! I love Minis too. Have a good day.

My garden's having much more attention from me at the mo - my hair is desperate to be coloured - bought the stuff weeks ago  so WILL do that this morning then more gardening YAY xx

Good plan Doreen - I think soup's a good idea - helped me this week and making more today as you'll have seen I think? If we need it - better for us to eat a whole pan of that than anything else I think - except hubby loves it too  mmm.. may need to make double hee-hee! xx

Sunday 19 April

Came back on to add brown sauce syns to my food plan - think I'm losing it! Lots would confirm that diagnosis I know! Thought I'd posted my food plan but now can't find it - so here it is again (perhaps?) Wonder if I posted it somewhere else - if so, hope it was some nice and it's happy there!

B: egg and mushrooms, brown sauce 1 syns
L: Delia's French Onion soup adapted for SW - usually divine and I'm not a good cook! One day when I'm at goal I'll have it with all the bread and melted cheese too!!
D: Cottage pie - topped with Jamie's Boulgangere (I think??) potatoes (I'm not keen on mash) kale, broccoli and cabbage from the garden (at last!)

May have a Freddo - missed him yesterday! 5 syns and fruit when I need it - but not too much! Have a good day ladies! xx

EDIT: Changes to food diary

I've had an apple and grapes now - enough fruit for the day I think - just cos things are free doesn't mean I can eat huge quantities - got that Linda U??

I'm going to start typing in my drinks again - reminds me to drink water and reduces the amount of diet drinks I think!

So today so far - 1 coffee - ss milk, water (only cos I'm typing this tho ;) ) fruit teas xx

Oh Linda you make me laugh. Online shop indeed :D. You are such a tonic.:)

I went for a walk round the small block, I guess 1/2 mile. Cut the grass at back and put boiling water on the weeds in the cracks at the front. Am told this will kill them and make them easier to get out. Grass not been cut for some time so have only really taken the top off and not done any trimming, Still lots of weeds out the back but will do them as the week goes on.

What colour do you do your hair. I used to have mine highlighted but decided as my hair is shorter it grew out too quick. I am now what my Mum used to call salt & pepper. The salt of course being the grey bit. Must be ok as I do get compliments about it. :p

Am going for coffee at the cafe with a friend. We are going in the car because it is so cloudy and she does not want to get wet if it rains. Which is why I walked earlier. Can I do it every day???
Remains to be seen.

Enjoy your gardening.

Oh, the banter from you two has me in stitches at times! On- line line shop indeed! :8855: You definitely both brighten my day with your little 'chats'!

Sorry to hear you've gained, Doreen but really glad you're still in a positive frame of mind. Glad you are too, Linda.

Well, as I suspected, I have had a gain this week, or I may have done?! As you know, I didn't weigh myself after the birthday binge, the three days eating naughty stuff because of the trip to Shropshire and the tea-room visit last Monday, which consequently led to me eating naughty stuff again on Monday evening. I have been good since Tuesday but don't know how much I had put on in the first place so WI today COULD be a gain or it COULD be a loss! If you get my drift!

Anyway, whatever, I'm just carrying on as normal and we'll see what next week's WI shows. Pete, my partner, has been doing SW properly since Tuesday and he weighed himself today too and has lost 2lbs. Not really sure he needs to do it though, to be honest, as he's about 5ft. 10 inches and weighs 14 stone. When I look at some of the men's weights in the mag, some are quite a bit heavier than that, even once they've reached target. I think it's more to do with his job. He's a driving instructor so is sitting all day long and he works such long hours, he's no time to fit any exercise in. When he is home, he just wants to relax, understandably. Still, we'll see.

Have a lovely day, ladies and let's keep the positive feeling going.

Pink line indeed! :D xx

Hee-Hee - it's ok for you to have an Upndown tonic if it's very low cal = zero syns but if there's a gin in it - enjoy - raise the glass to your gang here BUT REMEMBER to count the syns lol!

Well you've had more exercise than me Doreen - so well done! I've been making this flipping soup, boulangere and cottage pie for nearly 4 hours!! Of course putting the washing on in between - had brekkie and lunch but blimey!! Mind I may have clocked up a few miles upndown this kitchen making this food!

Your hair sounds a nice colour and others must think so to give you compliements. I'm naturally a redhead but these days it's sort of a reddish brown with more white/marmaladey hairs every time I look in the mirror - so I'm trying a new colour this time - it's called Warm Brown - if I don't like it - I'll go back and get a more reddish wash in/wash out colour - Superdrug do one for £1 and it does several washes. It doesn't cover greys or else I'd use it all the time.

In answer to your question - can you do your walk every day - yes Doreen I have every faith that you can - and you have to do it for a fair bit to match my Olympic cookery session ha-ha ;)

The sun's decided to come out no so will hang some washing on the line then start gardening - hope you enjoy coffee with your friend xx

Glad we can make you smile - we should do something for you after all your hard work with the recipes! Before you say it Doreen ;) I recognise your hard work too with the listings - very helpful to see in in a list and Darren's gizmo is good too.

As you say Kathy - it may be a loss - in fact I'd consider it a loss from Tuesday if I were you - think positive and carry on as you intend to - 5 days on plan shd bring a loss I think! I feel a bit that my gigantic gain is starting to disappear - waistline/tum don't seem so wobbly!!

My hubby's 5' 10" too and when he's 14 stone - he looks fine - he's gained a little weight recently - so he's trying to get back to that weight.

It's bright and sunny here today - warmer now than yesterday too - hope it is with you and the bunnies are enjoying it!

Yes as you say - let's keep positive xx

Well done, ladies! :) Oh, well, I shall miss all my extra time on Mini's. Back to getting up at 5.45am, ready for school. :( At least, apart from the SATS tests, the summer term is generally a nicer one. More outdoor activities and, once the tests are out of the way, the Year 6 will be getting ready for their end of year production. Not sure what they're doing yet this time round.

Right, off to make the tea now, which has changed yet again! Going to have sticky chicken with some Synned oven chips and peas, just because I want something quick and easy on my last night of freedom! :) xx

Glad to keep folks smiling if we can. If you have a little gain Kathy you will soon get it off.
Have a chase around the garden with the rabbits, a little rabbit chasing is good body magic.

I went to tea with a friend for a couple of hours then phoned my sister when I got back and sorted a couple of things from previous phone call. She is trying so hard to keep us altogether. I have told her I will hopefully go and see brother next week.

Enjoy your evening.

Your tea sounds lovely. I just noticed the "synned " chips. Do you buy frozen chips? I kinda remember you saying so before. Do you get many for the syns?

Good luck with the getting up; I am always awake early nowadays, will give you a wake up call. :)

Hope your hair turns out ok Linda.

Hey did you notice no heb. maybe that saves me some syns.
I think I had best eat those apples now. Feeling a bit peckish. Think I have only used 1/2 my milk. Could have saved some syns on cheese.
Will leave it as it is I think.

Ha ha! Thanks for that, Doreen! :) I do sometimes buy frozen chips but sometimes have a go at the SW ones too (not very good at making these. They never look nice and crisp like in the mag!) The ones I have at the moment work out at 100g = 3 Syns. Because I haven't used any Syns for the last few days and I won't be weighing in again now until next Sunday, I thought I could get away with 200g and the sticky chicken too. 200g does make quite a good portion, along with some peas, etc. I've just got the chicken marinating and I'm going to cook it in about 5 mins. Looking forward to it. :) xx

Had a crumpet instead of a Freddo but it was 7 syns inc the lemon curd - was it worth it  ? Not for a chocolic !! xx

Ooh your meal sounds fab - like you I'm never quite happy with my SW chips - and when I'm reducing my food choices - I want everything to be yummy! Enjoy your dinner! xx
