New year, new Jane!

Lost 3 lbs:D Must get focused as I really don't want to lose my sticker again. I know that planning is so important and I need to try some new things as I tend to eat the same things every week. I want to try the mushy pea curry this weekend and intend to take my recipe books to mums.

FANTASTIC LOSS - yippeeee, well done hun. Mushy pea curry is blooming gorgeous.. but beware of a trumpy bum afterwards!! xxx

Thanks Louise and thanks for the warning re mushy pea curry! x
Off to mums again tonight so will not have access to minimins until Monday. I really want to try to stick to plan 100% over the weekend because I have 11lbs to lose to reach birthday target.
Hope that everyone has a good weekend.x

Hi Jane,

Well done on the 3lbs. Good luck for this week. You are doing a fantastic job because I know things are pretty difficult for you at the moment esp spending time away from home where you may not be as in control as you would like to be.

Hope the mushy pea curry was good and your Mum is ok ?

Gail x

Thanks Gailx Mum is better than she was so this week we are going to try leaving her overnight tomorrow which means that she will have 24hrs left to her own devices. She will still have 3 calls from carers but will be alone at night. Mum seems keen to try it as well,so fingers crossed.
Tomorrow night will be the first night that we have been home together since mid February so we are looking forward to it.

We didn't have mushy pea curry at the weekend as we didn't have all the spices. It's on the menu for this weekend.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for WI tomorrow. I have followed red and green days during the last week. Have to admit to having about 20 syns on Friday and saturday but have otherwise kept to plan. I have developed a taste for babybel lights as a healthy extra and also really enjoy having alpen lights as an extra. I am wondering whether it will make a difference to WI having 2 extra healthy options.

3lb!! Fantastic loss Jane, well done.

Didn't know the mushy pea curry was responsible for my trumping :D I always tell my boyfriend when he complains that he'll know when I stop sticking to my diet as I'll stop being so windy....the two really do go hand in hand for me as I never used to be like this and the poor guy has had to put up with it for over a year. Worth it for a slimmer girlfriend though....maybe

Hope your Mum does ok overnight by herself, must be a real worry for you. x

Thanks EmmyLou x
I had a STS this week. I am a bit disappointed but hope that the scales will be kind to me next time.
I think that mum did quite well by herself last night and it was lovley to have an evening with my husband at home.

A STS after a big loss last week is pretty good still JAne, don't get disheartened. On for a good loss next week after a STS :) I'm almost 1 day down back on it 100% today, I'm finding it so hard after being so slack for the last couple of weeks, oops!

I agree. STS is good. Last week was a good loss. This week, a maintain is fine. Well done.

Thanks EmmyLou and Gail xx. Unfortunatly I had a bad evening yesterday. I ate all sorts of rubbish so yet again I have fallen into old habits. I felt exhausted and couldn't be bothered to prepare a proper dinner so grabbed whatever came to hand including a tin of rice pudding ( well it was low fat!). Anyway I still don't feel totally in control today either so I had better get a grip.
Hope that everyone has a great bank holiday weekend. x

Hi hun - just checking in... don't beat yourself up over last night, just draw a line under it and get planning your meals in advance, batch cook etc. You can do it girly xxx

Thanks Louise x Unfortunatly I didn't get back to plan until yesterday and I suspect that I have done a bit of damage over the weekend. I am really disgusted with myself for giving into old habits once again:(

You and me both Jane, it's so easy to slip back again. I know exactly how you feel and I'm trying once again to get back on track today. We can do it :) Keep coming back here for support cos you've got loads. x

Thanks Emmylou x When I weighed this morning it told me that I had lost 1.5 lbs. Unfortunatly I jumped back on and it gave another 'low' reading but not the same. After 5 go's and 5 different readings I think that my scales must be on the blink - probably from overuse! So I have no idea what my real weight is.

I used to do that with my parents scales....we'd get on and off them and only trust them when they'd done 3 readings the same! I only weighed on Sunday and was so annoyed I haven't been on mine since which is quite an achievement for me. I think I prefered it when I was actually losing weight and got on them everyday as it's only fear keeping me from them now.

1.5lb is great Jane :)

Thank you EmmyLou and Louise. xx I fished out my old scales and they also say that I have lost 1.5 lbs so it must be true:). This is my 4th day 100% on plan and I am already planning for it as I always seem to fall of the SW wagon when I am at mums. Forgot to mention that we tried the mushy pea curry on Monday and even my husband was impressed! I have put 2 portions of the sauce in the freezer.

I love having 100% days, they feel like building blocks in a way.. once I have one 100% day it makes me less likely to be naughty the next as I don't want to undo the good work... yay for 100% x

Don't be disgusted with yourself - blimey, if I did that every time I fell off plan, I would hate myself by now. Just accept that sometimes it WILL happen but sometimes there may be things that you could have done to prevent it, so have a think about what they are and when you could do that so that you can learn from those times.

Well done on your loss :). However my scales are so accurate that it doesn't matter how many times I weigh, it is never any more than 0.2lbs different (and rarely even that) - do you weigh on a hard surface ?

Louise24 - well said :)

Thanks Louise and Gail xx Not a bad weekend food wise. Not sure that I always trust my husband to cook the SW way. He is a great cook, which is a real bonus, but at times I wonder if he is using ordinary oil instead of fry light. He gets annoyed if I quiz him too much. I am trying not to become obssesive about it but its difficult not to be when I am not in charge of the cooking most of the time.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. x
