I really struggle with red days as I'm not a huge meat fan (although I always love a big juicy steak!), but I feel so much less bloated when I do them - what are your favourite red day meals? x

Hello ladies! Scales still being kind this morning at 11st 10.75lbs, yay! :-D

Today's food so far...

Breakfast: Muller Greek Lemon (0.5), Tea (0.5)
Snacks: Grapes
Lunch: Chicken Wrap (HEB & 1 Syn for sweet chilli sauce), Satsumas, Apple

Not too bad so far for an unplanned food day :)

Hope you're all having good and healthy days xx

Chilli (hexb kidney beans, or syn them), spag Bol but I have it with veggies, stuffed chicken breasts wrapped in bacon, omelettes, sw quiches, pork loin steaks with creamy mustard sauce, sw burgers without the bun, casseroles (slow cooker v handy!), tonight's dinner is a smoked paprika chicken casserole, yum! Or if course a juicy steak!! :D

Don't forget your hexb on red days can be 200g new potatoes or 240g baking potato (done as chips or whatever if you want) - I'm having new potatoes tonight but otherwise I just fill my plate with veggies!

Ooh yay for the scales behaving!

What wrap can you have for a HEXB? xx

None officially! But to let you in on a secret, I rarely have approved HEB bread... I know it's cheating, but on the occasions when I want bread (which I keep to a minimum) I do have "disallowed" breads e.g. granary, as I just can't force myself to eat wholemeal, I'd rather go without altogether. I do buy wholemeal pittas and wraps from Sainsbury's and use them as HEBs (and count syns for anything over and above than the usual HEB 6 Syns), a bit naughty I know! Hasn't impacted my losses any time I've done SW (as long as I'm being 100% on everything else) so I'll keep on doing it for now, but if my losses did start slowing down I might have to tighten up on it!

Fab work on the loss lovely and your food yesterday sounds delish!
Good luck for the 2lbs this week...those shoes will be yours in no time! ;) x

Here's hoping! :D Hope you're having a good week too? xx

Ooh some nice ideas there! It's menu day tomorrow so I might plan in a couple of reds for this week and see how I get on. Are peas a HEB too on red days? x

Ok diary for the day...

Breakfast: Muller Greek Lemon (0.5), Tea (0.5)
Snacks: Grapes
Lunch: Chicken Wrap (HEB & 1 Syn for sweet chilli sauce), Satsumas (SS), Apple (S)
Exercise: 30 mins on bike at gym - should have been Pilates tonight but the class was cancelled as the weather was too bad to do it outdoors :(
Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese (conveniently taken straight from freezer to microwave, froze the spaghetti as well as the sauce this time!) - had Sainsbury's High Fibre Spaghetti and can't say I'm 100% sold on it...
Snacks: Tabasco Cheddar 30g (HEA), Pink n White (2.5 Syns), 10g of chocolate nibbles from my Thornton's Chocolate Fix box (2.5 Syns)

Summary: 1 x HEA, 1 x HEB, 6 Syns, 30 mins Exercise, not many speed foods!

Am out tomorrow lunchtime for a friend's maternity leaving lunch, so am off to browse the menu for the restaurant and make some healthy choices up front. Have already decided I'm going to drive so there's no danger of it turning into boozy afternoon drinking like last Friday!! :D

Hope you're all having good days, it's nearly the weekend!! xxx

Ooh looking at menu for tomorrow, this looks like it should be relatively low syn??

seared tuna skewers £12.00
sashimi grade tuna with an apricot glaze, seared and served with a salad of bok choi, baby spinach, coriander, mint and green beans with a chili, soy and lime dressing

or alternatively one of these two? it's def looking like fish is going to feature!!

seafood linguine £12.00
linguine in a roasted tomato, garlic and white wine sauce with king prawns, fresh mussels and squid

sea bass and seafood risotto £16.50

king prawns, baby scallops, calamari and fresh mussels in a saffron and cherry tomato risotto with a pan fried fillet of sea bass

Menu for tomorrow sounds yummy! I would probably go pasta if the weather is rubbish or the salad if its nice! Have a great time xx

I think the tuna skewers would probably be the least syns but they all sound lush especially the seabass! x

Evening ladies!

Well I am very proud of myself, as when I got to the restaurant the menu had changed, so none of the above were options, which in the bad old days would have resulted in an "oh sod it" moment, which in turn would have led to me ordering something thoroughly fattening as my plans had been disrupted. But today.... I reviewed the revised menu, found a main which was just as good as the tuna one above, but was struggling on the starters as they all had mayo or hollaindaise sauce, or butter. There was one I spotted that looked good apart from for the fact that it came with potato salad, so once the waiter came over I asked if it would be possible to get the potato salad without any mayo, or even better yet, if I could just have it with boiled potatoes, which they were absolutely fine with and gave me the choice of hot or cold! So I managed to have a virtually syn free starter thanks to being that little bit more demanding than I normally would, yay!! :D

Food etc for today...

Exercise: 40 mins at gym (30 mins on bike, 10 mins on rower)
Breakfast: WW Desserts Fat Free Yogurt, Banana
Lunch: Poached Salmon with boiled potatoes and watercress for starter, Prawn Noodle Salad with Chilli, Lime & Ginger dressing for main, Diet Coke for all my drinks - I reckon about 5 syns for the lot, as could taste a bit of butter on the boiled potatoes, and there were a couple of peanuts in the salad (although there appeared to be no oil in the dressing which was great!)
Dinner: Cheese & Broccoli Pasta n Sauce with 125ml skimmed milk (part of HEA)
Snacks: 2 Rocky Road HiFis (HEB), 2 Satsumas (SS), 2 slices ham

Summary: 0.5 x HEA, 1 x HEB, 5 x Syns, 40 mins Exercise

PS. My proudest moment = declining the very kind offer of a spoonful of the mum-to-be's sticky toffee pudding which looked simply amazing! :D

Welcome! You've had some brilliant losses so far, how much have you lost since you started? xx

23lbs in total ... yay! :D

i'm so jealous of the weeks you been off plan but still had a loss! lol.

i've had 3 gains in my time on this but yet i genuinely have been on plan 100% since i started (apart from 1 night when i had some buffet food at a doo...but didn't put on at WI after) ??? work that one out :(
just shows you our bodies are funny things sometimes eh!
but my mindset is different and the weeks that i've had a gain, yeah i've been miffed cos we all want to lose every week, but i just leave thinking oh well, what'll be will be and i know i haven't done anything wrong!
before i would've went f*k this...then hoovered god knows what up! lol x

Ah wow that's an amazing loss, well done you!!

I don't have too many weeks where I'm off plan and still lose, normally a day or two of being naughty and I'm looking at a gain or at best a maintain, unless it's a delayed effect from the week before where I maybe haven't seen the loss I deserved on a 100% week! :D Although I think the daily exercise is helping offset the odd naughty day now, I suppose it's a more balanced lifestyle :)

I used to be the same after a gain, would just think "oh bugger it this plan obviously isn't right for me" and would give up (I rejoined about 5 times last year because of this!) but then something just clicked this year thankfully, or else I'd be 14 stone by now! Sometimes your body takes a week to catch up and those are the weeks when you lose inches rather than pounds.

I had a really lovely moment today when someone I don't even know that well stopped me in the lift to ask if I'd lost weight! You know it's finally making a difference when even the people you aren't close to start to notice! :D

yep...that's so true....and good for you on the exercise...i just don't...no point in lying....i just don't! lol. i know it would help...but i aint committing to anything...cos i know it wouldn't happen hehe (maybe one day tho??)

i've had comments in the last week or 2 which has been good :D
but i've been there before...lost a ton of weight then gradually over the years it's gone back on.
there's not a "diet" i've not tried....i lost 2 stone on ww then spent a year doing it, starving all the time and paying money to end up gaining every 2nd week!
it was great at first cos it let me eat the foods i usually ate...but then as i lost weight and my points went down, i was still eating the food, pointing in my goodies but then starving the rest of the time cos i just wouldn't go over my allowance!

when i joined sw (a few weeks after leaving ww) i was almost a stone heavier than i had been at the beginning of that year...what a waste of money paying every week lol!
i think the reason i've been able to be 100% on this is cos i don't feel like i've missed out. i've just been clever about what i have (ie sw ferrero rochers instead of something else etc) and to be honest, going from some sh1tty ww ding meal for dinner to burger, sw chips etc has been fab!
my OH is loving it too lol.

i've only told a few people i'm doing it...at first i didn't say cos i wasn't sure if i'd manage to stay on it so didn't want to end up being like...awww, i'm off that now...and no one's really asked! the few that have i've been like yeah, i cancelled my ww and lost a stone and a half lol. but i'm not lying when i say i've stopped eating processed foods and that i'm cooking from scratch....cos i am!

for me, planning is definitely my key cos if i didnt plan and cook in advance, i think that's when it would go wrong...god knows what i'd eat cos you definitely need to be ahead of the game otherwise you'd plough through syns big time eh! x
