weigh day and i can feel the impending doom of being told i've put on weight. :( not helped by having one of my strange periods. cheers body.

it's the bad few days last week that did it. i put weight on like a drop of a hat. even if i've eaten within my BMR of 2200 i never stay the same, you can guarentee i put on 3lbs minimum. it's the carbs :( they're evil. i think my body just can't handle carbs.

Good luck for weigh in, are those iron tablets making any difference in how tired you feel? Sea kelp is really good for digestion and super high in iron.

they're not helping at the moment kez. only been on them since thursday anyway. just feel so depressed lately, totally tired. just not myself. got no get up and go. what i do i end up pushing myself otherwise i'd just go to bed and spend the day sleeping. :(

Maybe you just need to spend the day in bed sleeping hun, take some time out for yourself?

niki, you sound low. hope all is well and the weigh in went well??

my friend said to me this am that with all the exercise i do i should really be able to eat what i want! nope. if i do this happens... put on weight.

aw nikki hope you are ok. 1lb isnt too bad. i know from a few years ago when i used to run that i never lost a pound. not an ounce and i had really cut back on food. for me , exercise tones and never makes me lose weight. its such a bummer!

am having a very weird week myself, was off plan today doing healthy eating but feel very lost and scared and thinking od returning to cd tomorrow. dont want to though as cd is NOT my crutch and i dont want it to replace food as my comfort blanket.

also, my middle child has started peeing his pants and its really upset me as i feel monumentally guilty. i know you had this prob too with your daughter? I have an instictive feeling its anxiety related and i feel bad in case ihave been neglecting him. with a baby, work and home and cd i always seem to be muddling from one to the next. any tips on what i should do with him?

toileting
i was really tough on emily cause her wetting was behaviour related for attention. it depends on how your child is an what you think is the best route.

with ems i told her that if she wet herself she had to change herself. not giving her any attention for doing it. then when she went to the loo i'd go crazy with attention.

i got very very stressed about her wetting herself as i knew she could do it but wasn't. my stress the create her stress and round it went. she was feeding on my stress.

maybe do a reward chart. a sticker for every time he goes. ems loved getting a stamp on her hand. those felt tip pens with 2 ends one with a tip and the other with a stamp.

running
the strange thing is that last time round i lost loads running. not only did it tone but i got a really thing athletic figure and it really kept the weight off. this time round i suppose i'm not as strict but the weight is hanging around my tummy area.

there was a thread on here saying get of cd as soon as you can. i'm on the 1500 plan at the moment and talking to my cdc this am, she said that she would not recommend me going any lower at all. cause i said that to get a bit more weight off i'd need to go down the plans and stop exercising. she said that she couldn't see me stopping exercising, was getting bit obsessive about it, and that she wouldn't sell me more than one a day now. she said with me i don't need to loose any more, not at the moment.

think i need to re-evaluate things. need to eat more protein now. less carbs. mind being on iron tablets has really cut my appetite down. feel like i can't be bothered eating. had to force myself tonight. i'd rather have just had a glass of wine and gone to bed. just need sleep.

did body pump (125 cals burnt), then body combat (325 cals burnt). strange thing is that my pulse rate, according to my polar watch, never went above 136bmp doing combat. i was working hard, breathing hard, sweating etc. very odd indeed. it should have been 150-160 bmp!

meant to say that last time i did 2 x 3 mile runs and 1 long run up to 10 miles max a week. then 2 afternoons at the gym doing a little bit of weights, cycling, rowing, stepping and cross training.

i'm doing so much more exercise now. however, i just don't want to drop anything. having said that if push comes to shove it might be combat that goes. just felt so tired last night after pump that combat seemed a waste of space. that and why didn't my heart rate go up and higher than 136 when i was pushing myself so hard and sweating like a pig? quite worried about this. it could mean that i'm not pushing hard enough or it could mean that i'm quite fit and my heart doesn't have to work as hard but if this is the case then why was i breathing hard and sweating so much and feeling knackered?

phoned my doc about results today. got figures. so...

thyroid is normal at 1.67

electrolytes are normal

iron is very low with a ferritin level of 8. it should be between 11 and 307. i've got a telephone conversation with doc tomorrow to discuss findings and see if there are any more tests to be done to discover the reason for it being so low. i don't really get full on periods, just lots of spotting the last 4 weeks of my depo injection.

there must be a reason for it being so low, especially as i've been on cd which is fab for the vits and mins. it's never been this low before. not the first time on tablets. as the symptoms of thyroid and low iron as very similar it justifies why i've been feeling rubbish and loosing my hair. it's surprising i can get out of bed of a morning :argh:

nikki, hope you are well and the iron tabs kick in!

bisc 200 (must stop eating these... i could have had some porridge for less cals)

total 1540 cals

been painting the kids play room the last few nights. started tuesday night.

  1. so first coat of endurance paint - yellow, on the 2 long walls on tuesday.
  2. wednesday was 2nd coat of yellow paint in the pm after i'd taken ems to see fireman sam.
  3. wednesday eve i didn't go to my body pump class and painted the 1st coat of green. hard work as i had to cut in carefully along the yellow.
  4. tonight i've just done the 2nd green coat.

next step is to put up the kids toy boxes, chuck out old and broken toys, put the soft toys into the soft springy pop up basket things, add pooh bear stickers to the walls, pop in the pooh bear bean bag. voila! mind i'm looking for a sideboard. i don't like the tv on the tv stand. it's ok but i think a sideboard would be better and i can store stuff in the cupboards and draws too.

also on tuesday i've done more to my garden. i'd dug it over on sunday and tuesday i levelled it and put down the grass seed. just 2 more phases to go and it's complete. should be nice next spring/summer. don't think we'll see the benefits right now. :D

so been very very busy.

i just wished that there was another 8 hours in the day - 6 awake hours and 2 more asleep hours. i just have so much to do and very little time to do it in.

of course whilst you paint one room the others get so messy it's crazy. so after i finish the playroom (i'll post pictures when i'd done) i'll be gutting the rest of the house to make it tidy again! i think one of the problems is the kids toys have been everywhere.

Oh Nikki, no wonder you've been feeling like poo, if your irons low, it knocks you sideways!! Hope you get something sorted with it and you start to feel more like your old self again!! My hair's been dropping out recently too, but not as much as it did before and I think it's just my usual summer molting lol. I have so much hair its not even noticible luckily.

Hope your chat with the doc went well. xx

chat didn't go so well. got to take them for a month, the 2 months after that i've got another iron test. if it hasn't risen or has gone lower then they'll be more tests. tube up and down. my mum said let's hope they send it down before they send it up! he said that my gut might not be able to absorb the iron i need.

so all in all very worrying!!!

pi$$ed off!

my eldest is not well, throwing up and whimpering bout her tummy, matthew's pulling out the toys, dogs getting under my feet and hubby has escaped to work!

in between all this i've got to finish the playroom, tidy the house, do the washing, load the dishwasher, move stuff from the garage to the new shed, eat breakfast.

so tired. ems woke me at 5am crying in pain. all hubby's done is shout at her as she drank bathwater last night - nothing new, but matthew had pooed in it and she was told not to drink it but just refused, as usual, to listen! he's blaming that for her throwing up.

we've got his brother and wife over this afternoon but she's pregnant and if, as i suspect, ems has a bug, she shouldn't come over. this means me and the kids at home and hubby goes to see them! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hope your day improved!! I've had a busy one, trailing round all the garden centres in Teesside, looking for the perfect plants to put in my hanging window box thing, found eventually at Peter Barratts, it was very hard to go there and not have a cup of coffee and a cake but managed, cos my mum dragged me out.

Equally as busy day tomorrow, going up to Dalton Park with mum and then afternoon of laying slate in the driveway, what a treat! Should keep my mind off food and burn some calories. Hope Emily feels better soon. xx
