Oh dear to the scales and poor Joseph's sleeping!

Happy Mother's Day Janet, and have a lovely meal out!

IMO his sleep issues are very complex. Take any man on the street and Joseph is 150% more nervous/stressed than him! It seems to be built in him. Beside the bed he has numerous bottles and pkts of herbal things that he seems to swallow like smarties when he can't get off to sleep... The doctor prescribed 2mg (a nothing dose) diazepam as a relaxant...now if he took that as prescribed every night we might get somewhere but he won't and I think that's half the problem.
I know he's super stressed about the house in Spain not being sold and of course about his sister and brother in-law and indeed his other sister with mental health problems but it's not good for him or his health either.
Sorry to off load...:bighug: Maybe I'll suggest we see the doctor tomorrow?

Well he woke up more rested and seems fine for now! I think I shall insist he takes it tonight to break the no sleep pattern.

Had a visit from Sarah...not sure long that little cake will stay in one piece!! lol

Beautiful plan and cake Janet, how lovely. We can understand Joseph's worries, Antony and I worry too, too much about things we can't do anything about - crazy too as life's too short.
I have had a nice day. Hope your meal out is good too.

Had such a lovely time tonight. I think the place had been so busy that my only veggie option was the nut wellington which was lovely. I had the chocolate fudge cake which was so huge even I couldn't finish it!!

The pic is left to right, my eldest grandson Joel & his girlfriend, Alfie, Sarah, Jack and opposite side Adam, me & Joseph.
And my flowers & card from Matt.

Yes I think we did manage to shut our eyes!! lol.
I can't tell you how well the whole evening went...everyone chatting away to (especially) Joseph made me so happy. As we all said goodbye Sarah even leaned towards Joseph so he could kiss her...and Adam did the same to me! I really think hard lessons have been learnt by my two.
We told them that we'd probably be away for my birthday and nobody pulled a hurt face but thought it was a lovely idea...so another success!!

Hope I can lay down to sleep tonight....I feel soo full eating during the evening!
The cake does look delicious ...tackling that is probably tomorrow's job!! lol.

Thanks Jaffa...I think digging my heels in finally showed them mum had had enough!!
I really hope Joseph does sleep too. I told him this afternoon what pills he's taking tonight and believe me I shall be standing over his open month to make sure what goes in!!!

Well...we have an appointment at our bank on Weds lunch time. We're applying for a bank credit card. People don't realise that when you've been away from the UK for any length of time you have nil credit history. So we've had to apply for really naff credit cards with something like 39% APR to get us back with some history again. We've always paid off everything at the end of the month but used them to gain points. Also you can't have any credit agreements eg when we needed a new washer dryer...unless you've been back in the country for 3 yrs. Thankfully on the 26th March our 3 yrs will be up!!
Anyway...the point I'm making is that the lady in the bank told us we're classed as A1 status customers which means we're eligible for low APR cards...eg 12%. That's good news and will make a short break affordable for us.

Beautiful looking chocolate cake and lovely presents and cards too, you really were spoilt Janet.

Love the family photo, and so glad that the evening went so well x

Thanks Lynne... I took a good look at the cake box and seems the centre has choc drops inside!!

Ok.... guess who slept and who didn't ĺast night!!
Joseph did very well... my stomach was uncomfortable was still awake at 2am.
Oh well.... I have definitely NOT been on the scales this morning!! Lol
