PogMoma's Diary

Evening Pog, hope you've had a good day today :)

X

Evening Clareel, I had a really busy day at work but I struggled through parts of it as I couldn't fall asleep until 4am this morning! Early night tonight me thinks! x

Oh no Pog lack of sleep is the worst! Hope you slept better last night and are feeling refreshed this morning!

I slept a lot better last night but it was all ruined around six something this morning. My flatmate is practically deaf and is a VERY sound sleeper. She had several alarms set but she kept snoozing them all for about half an hour. I usually wake up at 7.45am and once I wake up I have a hard time falling asleep again. It was torture! I snapped in the end and texted her asking her to wake up or turn all her alarms off. I know she sets the early ones when she wants to go to the gym before work, otherwise she usually gets up at 8.30am or 9am as her work starts really late around 10am or so. It's so unfair! Let me get my sleeeeeeeep!!! Hopefully tonight will be a better night but I think I'm over the Summer Time jetlag :D x

Oh god that's annoying! I hate getting woken up by an alarm anyway never mind if it's someone else's!!

I know! I texted her again this morning when she kept snoozing. It seems to work cos she got up straight away but I couldn't get back to sleep. Grrrr!

Today's scales show that I'm 68.9kg which is my lowest yet and it's below my first mini goal of 69kg. My size 14 work trousers won't stay up without a belt on anymore so hopefully soon to say hello to size 12 bottoms :D

Woohoo Pog well done on the new low and the trousers being too big! Those size 12s will be on soon I'm sure of it :) Keep up what your doing it's obviously working!

Thanks Clareel :)

Today another new low at 68.7kg, I'm shocked. Last night when OH got home he said I looked thinner - my chin or something??? Cos first thing he saw when he walked in was the side of my face and stuff, I was sat down at my desk studying. Then this morning he said my waist has gotten smaller too.

For when I haven't brought my lunch into work I've been having Burger King or McDonalds cheese burger type things with no bun. Double cheese burger, quarter pounder with cheese, double Whopper etc. I thought that it must be better than anything carby and I was making the best out of a not so good situation but my body must be ok with it which is good news :)

Weigh and measure tomorrow. Hopefully good results. Have a good day, nearly weekend! x

Best of luck for tomorrow Pog, you've just reminded me I need to measure - will do it tomorrow as well :)

Nearly weekend x

6 weeks and 3.1kg gone. Average weekly loss of 517g (1.1lb). Ideally would like to lose 1kg (2.2lb) a week but hey ho, not being 100% comes with consequences. Actually, I'm not upset about it because it's going down and I don't feel deprived or bored of what I'm doing at the moment. If anything it's keeping cravings and portion sizes under control so it's good. One thing for sure - carbs are not my friend!

1lb per week is great Pog, I know it would be nice if it came off quicker but just keep chipping away with it and you'll soon be where you want to be :)

Have a lovely evening X

Thanks Clareel, chipping away is exactly what it is isn't it? :)

I was thinking about Dukan rules, the first two phases are the intense and strictly weight loss and the third phase is the slowly introducing new groups of food stage. What I'm doing is a blurry line between phase 2 and 3. In the long run I think it might suit me better cos I feel losing really quickly and reaching target, then building new foods into my diet and potentially not sticking strictly to the rules may make my weight fluctuate wildly and make me feel demotivated and worried that I might gain the weight again.

So slowly does it for me. I will get there eventually!

It sounds like you have found the balance there Pog. It's one thing starting a new eating plan but if it's too strict / unrealistic then you just wont be able to stick to it, hopefully by combining phase 2&3 it will be more manageable and help you to achieve your goal :)

Hope you've had a good weekend so far!

I don't know what it was but I "needed" pie. I had a steak & ale pie on Saturday and cottage pie on Sunday. I think that did the trick. Up to 69.3kg but I'm back on track today. Oatbran pancake for breakfast and pork steak and baby plum tomatoes for lunch. Dinner is going to be out somewhere so I'll see what's available.

I was way behind my study schedule but managed to catch up over the weekend so I'm happy with that.

Hope whoever is left reading my diary has a good week ahead! x

Mmm pie! Well done on catching up with your studying, can I have some of your motivation!? lol! I'm still reading, one day down 4 to go!!

You're very good about taking your measurements, and I ought to do the same... I don't do centimetres though!! I see you're aiming for a quite low 57K (22 BMI). Is that a weight you've been "recently"? I was probably about 7 years old last time I weighed so little!

Clareel - which fitbit do you have? I'm wanting to order one and am a little hesitant as to which to order. The flex seems good but has some reviews about gunky bracelets if you sweat! Right now I use MFP and Endomondo on my phone which are good but I like the thought of knowing even more about the exercise I do unwittingly during the day...

Morning Pog, hope you have a good day today :)

Maintainer I use the fitbit zip - it's cheaper than the others but has all the functions I need and I love that it is so tiny!

Inches is fine also :) It's a good motivator if you don't see any changes in weight but you're still losing inches. The amount of times I've stalled or even gained weight but went down in measurements... I find cms works better for me because it's more accruate in my head than saying 2.5inches or 1.25 inches.

I'm not sure if I can get down to 57kg but I didn't know what to aim for and that's why I'm doing the measurements as well.

All my adult life I've been 55-57kg (lowest being 53kg but I felt a bit faint then. 54kg seems like my lowest limit) but I started gaining mid 2010 and since then I've hit my heaviest of 72kg twice. I've realised that's when size 14s start to become uncomfortably tight but I refuse to buy 16s and it motivates me to start dieting again lol The first time I lost weight in 2011 I got down to 60kg on Dukan but didn't Consol so it just crept up again. That was in between size 10 and 12.

I just want to fit back into my old size 10s. Back then I thought I needed to lose weight, now I just wish I could go back to it!

I'd be happy if I went down to a size 10 even if it means I'm heavier than 57kg :)

What do you reckon, doable? :p

Jo - I have the FitBit One and it's also tiny. It counts stairs and tracks sleep but if you're not going to do either of these, you might as well go for the cheaper options.

I think you goal of 57kg or size 10 (whatever comes first!) is totally achievable :) I'm the same i.e. have set my goal in weight but really what I want is so wear size 12 jeans!
