Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

If you have started raspberry leaf tea hun you will probably find them a bit stronger for a while, I know I did, but it settled again after a week or so. X

Oh well maybe that's it then?! I started drinking it last week n upped to 2 cups a day the weekend (r mayb Friday...)

I was lucky and never experienced these first time round. Not had any as of yet but still early ish... X

Something is definitely going on tonight. My bump constantly feels tight on the inside, and that goes for shortness of breath too.

Hopefully I can get some sleep and all will be normal tomorrow xx

Hope your ok hun x

Thanks Jess x

Yeah I feel ok Missy, the tightenings are still there which make me feel weird anyway but other than that I'm fine. I'm sure my body is just having a night of practicing lol had 1 random surge of period pain for 30 seconds but then that went and had nothing since?!

Going to try and get some sleep and hopefully it eases off :)

Thanks for checking on me xxx

Hope you are okay now Jess and are able to get some sleep. I had BH and period type pains for the last 4ish weeks of pregnancy. They were quite painful, and at times I thought it was the start of things....but as we all know I went over lol.

Sleep well xx

Hey ladies, looking for some advice. Had my 36 week appointment yesterday and she confirmed that baby is back to back and we need to try and get her to move round naturally - she said to lean over my exercise ball on all 4s and wiggle my bum in the air (at least that's what I thought she said!) but tried and my bumps to big! Any ideas of what she could have meant?

I did some serious bouncing on there last night but don't want to go over the top as still not full term :/ x

They used to say lean clean all your skirting boards to help turn the baby. To be honest I did all that and all 3 of my babies were born back to back. Try just kneeling and put your elbows on the ground if that makes sense, just so your bum is higher than the rest of your body and wriggle. I hope baby turns for you xx

I haven't known if i'm having BH's or not - i have had a few times where i get really bad back pain/period type pains that seem to build in intensity then go away, but often a background ache remains for the duration this happens (never more than 10-15mins) and then it finally goes....i've never really noticed my stomach going tight at the same time, but then baby always seems to move at the same time which can make my tummy feel tight so its difficult to tell. I can't work out if it's baby putting pressure on my back or BH's! so difficult to tell!

Hey Nelly... If you can get on all fours without the ball.. Just sway up n down that way?? Hope that makes sense.. Same action as with the ball but without the ball taking up any room...
Or it you can go swimming and just kinda lay tummy down in the water.. I can't swim but when we were away I was floating up n down the pool with 2 floats n lightly kicking my legs to make me move (lol) They've never told me baby was back to back but its no harm to do anyway but could def feel baby had moved after it...
Have also heard the tale of washing the skirting to shift baby too...
Hope bubs turns in time for labour :)

Jess how you feeling this morning??

Baby turning now for me can be quite painful... We went to bed last night and J was having his daily catch up with baby... She'd been kinda quiet yesterday evening so I was telling him to leave her alone.. She's having a lazy day.. Next of all we had the most active, strong (quite painful) twists turns n kicks from her... It was actually quite fascinating to watch and got J all excited about how big she growing n brought him into giddy half hour!!! It was amazing to see.. Watching this lump (had to be a bum!) going back n forward n up n down n wiggling... Went on for ages too... Painful as it was, it was amazing...

Maybe Susie's theory of RLT making it stronger applies to you too???

Fine today thanks Frances, BHs have gone now so that's good - was pretty uncomfortable for most of last night. It's been replaced with nausea now though :(

Nelly, I've heard the same. There's a video on babycentre that might help :) The positions of your baby during birth - BabyCentre

What is everyone making for freezer meals to have on hand when baby comes?
So far I have spaghetti bolognese, lasagne and chilli, anyone else think of something not mince based? Lol xx

On the baby centre website I found a recipe for chicken and apricot casserole and it was yummy! X

I've done cottage pie.. Shepherds pie.. Beef casserole.. Lasagne.. Bolognese sauces.. .Chicken curry... Planned on doing chilli too (but J doesn't like that :D) Chicken stew.. I've also stocked up on racks of ribs, pork medalions and have a couple of boned and rolled chicken things so they just need to be defrosted and potatoes n veg added.. Simple but nutritious dinners... I also plan on freezing up portions of mash potato so again, they need reheating...
Have a large tub of veg soup frozen too (that was an accident as I made it up last week but put all sorts of heartburn triggers in and it killed me.. so its frozen now for after the birth!)

Wow super prepared. I have soup! That's all ha ha

I had good intentions of having some stuff in the freezer ready but not sure thats going to happen as i haven't started! i wanted to do some bolognese sauces, stews etc. Will have to see if i get a surge of energy and spend a few hours cooking. Would certainly be helpful in those early days i am sure.

I had great intentions of spending a day cooking various dishes but it hasn't happened... Its only by fluke I have what I do TBH... Its kinda built up of dinner that I've cooked, and then not been in the humour of eating so have popped into a tray and frozen.. Or when I do a Bolognese or similar I've used to whole pack of meat rather than half so made a double portion... I have to cook the pasta n rice or whatever to go with the dinners but that literally just popping on a pot of boiling water.. Same with veg.. We'll have frozen veg stocked up.. And as I said the soup was an accident :)
I still plan on having a cookathon before bubba gets here to stock the fridge up.. I have about a week worth of dinners each for us but would ideally like to have more...
