Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

I spoke to the midwife on Wednesday and said Stevie hadn't had a poo for over. 24 hrs... She said some cooled but not cold boiled water would get things moving.
If BF no water is needed at all as it's meant to b an all in one - as I'm doing both I have given Stevie some water ever since Wednesday :) only once or twice and he had only had 3-5 sucks on it but just enough to clear his tongue of milk residue xx

Ah ok. So pretty much newborn is ok. That's good to kno :)I knew they didn't need it if bf solely

Re shaving legs conversation - Im starting to find it near on impossible to shave them in the shower because i struggle to bend over because of bump.

Also struggling to cut my toenails as and when they need doing and also getting worried about taming 'down there' because i cant see past bump to do that now either *sigh*

Sorting out 'down there' is impossible lol ;) I can't even see my feet now so no chance! Thinking I might try the cream instead of shaving, though I'd still not be able to see what I was doing and that's one job I can't ask Colin to do for me!!!

My bikini line is guesswork at this point! Best lying down in bath to do it but don't often have baths :-(

Ooh...

That's actually one thing I'd be mortified at... Hubby shaving my bits.... Eek!! Cringe!!! I like the whole lot gone anyway - and he would mess it all up lol xx

Hello... Can I join??

Just wanted to say my bf wouldn't be getting involved with the trimming of down below. Think he would rather it just grew and was a forest!!! Lol.

Of course :D Welcome... Prepare for some cringing lol

Welcome in! :) x

Yeah, my husband is oddly prudish about some things and this is one of them. He prefers it to be tidy but would def take no part in actually sorting it out haha!

Morning ladies. Just a quick one... Last few days I've noticed the bottom half of my tummy, from belly button n down, has been quite cold to touch... The rest of my body would be warm n cosy. Anyone had this???

Can't say that I have hun but I'm sure someone else has. We all seem to have had one thing or another at some time! ;) xxx

With regards to down there...

I spoke to a few of my friends about this before as I was plannin a wax (but didn't actually want one!)

My fife ends all said they just left to towards the end or did all they could do but just didn't care!!

I used the cream after and incident where a caught the middle of my finger nail using a razor... The cream worked really well then about 4 weeks before my due date (5 weeks before his arrival) it burned me! Maybe I left it on too long who knows, but it really hurt! I recall it was a day I was driving to meet friends and the 2 hour drive wasn't fun!

When I was in hospital I spoke to a few student midwives (I was hot topic and all the students wanted to be there for one of my examinations so they could see what it looked like! Lol) and I explained I was getting embarrassed because there was nothing I could do regarding the lady garden ...they said it's not something they even notice! Where as I was v conscious of it...until it dawned on me that everyone who worked on that department had seen it already!! Lol xx

Found my answer:
due to the fact that the skin over your belly is no longer nestled up against your organs....and the uterus is insulating the baby, so the skin there is more vulnerable to the outside air and more likely to stay cool. It's not being heated up from inside, in other words :).
