Pregnancy and Baby Advice Thread: From Conception to Birth, and Beyond!

It's mad! It feels so strange. I just feel so so restless, like I can't sit down. I'm getting irritable no matter what position I'm sitting in, and baby is still kicking away lol surely she must be tired by now?! Think I'm going to have to take an early "lunch" so I'm not tied to my laptop. Very peculiar lol I'm so tired as well xx

Gosh i don't know how you keep it a secret from everyone - i know i would 100% slip up if i knew! My sister found out what she was having and Mike told me he didn't want to know - i managed to tell him the very first time i mentioned the baby...so i know i wouldn't ever be able to keep it a secret! Good on you for managing! :)

I couldn't do it either! Colin's mum didn't want to know and Colin slipped up first time he spoke to her after we found out lol. She was not amused!

I am such a big gob though, could never keep it quiet! We've kept his name secret though (except for on here of course) and I'm finding that hard enough ;) xxx

I had agreed to tell J's Mam and for her to keep it secret.. Knew she would as she knew his brother was having a boy n told no-one.. But J decided not to tell her as it wouldn't be fair telling her n no-one else...
I quite like that its just us that know though.. Its our little family time and it also means we don't have everyone poking their noses n giving their opinions on names n bedroom themes etc..
We'd be buying all nursery things neutral anyway as hopefully there'll at least be a baby number 2 it wasn't for that purpose we found out.. Was just coz I was nosey as hell.. ha ha

We found out because we were nosy too lol ;) Plus we wanted to call the baby 'he' or 'she' instead of 'it', I hated calling him it. Especially when I was so sure he was a he!

We always planned on buying everything bright and colourful so knowing didn't change our shopping plans at all, same as really. :)

Have many people had UTI's?? I'm on my 6th lot of antibiotics in 10 weeks, I know there common in pregnancy but jeez I'm going to be rattling all the way through at this rate! X

(GRABBING wood) Thankfully havn't had any yet... Is there anything you can eat or drink that can help it?? Cranberry juice etc??

I think Im really lucky...at 29+2 I have not yet had a UTI..

It sounds like you've had quite a few in a short space of time though...is it worth speaking to your GP to find out why it keeps re-occuring or how you can avoid it?? X

I'm also lucky. Am 30+2 and haven't had one yet *touches wood*. Definitely sounds like you've had a lot in a short space of time x

He phoned me today and said the antibiotics I had wasn't going to cover the strain I had which is why it hasn't cleared up and has asked me to take some different ones, they are cautious with which antibiotics to give and I've already had 2 different ones so ill be ringing midwife before taking anything just in case!

I've been making sure I drink loads and have cranberry juice every day, I was prone to them before this but never in this amount before!! X

Hi Ladies,

I just thought I'd let you know that after a few conversations on here in the past, I've requested for admin to add a "Parenthood and Baby" forum on here so that (if you want to) you could move your diary there once your babies are born (or even before if you wanted to) - that way we all still have a place to go when we're not "pregnant" where we can talk all things baby, motherhood, weight loss etc and STILL have our funny fridays! Just waiting to hear from them to see if they will create it :) Plus, we could probably stay put then - even if/when we're ttc/pregnant again xx

I love this idea. I was thinking of something like that because I don't want to lose my diary. I started it when we were ttc and just changed the name and place once I got my bfp so would like to keep the same diary with all my journey on it. I look back sometimes to random pages and think how lucky I am to be posting about my baby now rather than ranting about it not being fair that I wasn't pregnant!!xxx

That's a brill idea Jess - hope they take it up and do it! Don't want us all losing touch once we're busy with our little ones ;) xxx

Im just finishing a course of antibiotics for a UTI and thankfully they seem to have done the job! Hoping I don't suffer again for the rest of this pregnancy! Poor you I hope they find the right antibiotics for you this time! I was just advised to keep drinking loads but I'm sure you are already doing that! X

Great idea I was wondering where we'd all end up after babies are born etc! Fingers crossed they take you up on the idea :) x

Poor you guys. I've been so lucky and had zilch. Make sure you drink lots and lots of liquids. Nothing much more you can do I guess. X

Wouldn't be the same without you :) you can give us all an insight in to what it's really like so don't go anywhere! X

Blimey, that is a lot. Bless you :( I've had one but luckily it cleared up. Have been tested for another one on Tuesday though so just waiting to hear back as to whether I have another one! Hopefully they can get you something that'll clear it up quickly xxx
