Pregnancy and Slimming World

Hi Ladies, yet another palava of a day!

I got up and baby hardly moved which is dramatically different, as she was wriggling last night. So ended up going to the hospital to get checked out. Baby is all ok and typical the movements got bigger and more often whilst on the monitor.

So all good there but..... I'm still measuring small, my bump hasn't grown in 2/3 weeks so I'm going back to have another growth scan this afternoon (3.45). They are concerned that because baby was measuring at the lower end of scale last time and there has been no growth she may now be under the minimum level.

I'm not 100% sure what this may mean. I've read that it could be that my placenta isn't working and could mean baby needs to be delivered. If this is the case I'm hoping that I'll be induced and not have a c-section.

This might have been a physically easy pregnancy but i feel I've had my fair share of worries lol

Hope you're all ok and keep you posted x

I know it's harder said than done but try not to worry too much, with my youngest they scheduled an induction at my appointment, but he was too impatient to wait for it and was born two days before. They usually don't opt for a c-section unless they really have too, will be thinking of you and hoping that everything is ok. Hugs Crystal xx

Hiya all,

I'm back lol

I had my growth scan and the good news is that baby has gained 2lb which is good but her measurements are still at the lower end of the scale.

The MAC (Maternity Assessment Centre) aren't content with the amount she has grown and as my fetal movements were slow they are concerned that the two are connected.

So..... I've got to monitor and record babies movements then on Monday I've got to go in and go on the CTG, then Thursday I've got a scan. Then the following week I've got my consultant appointment and then another scan on my due date.

What a day!!!! I just wish now baby arrived early so all this palava is over lol

 for you Cheeky, at least you're being looked after, not much relaxing for you though xx

Kimmy so sorry hope you're ok xx

All is well atm.......but poor Angel the cat is now in prison after her dirty protests ( lol if you have watched Strangeways!!)

once i''ve figured out how to post photos i will put my scan pic on

Mwah to you all xxx

I have been told by my MIL that at home bargains they are selling Tommee Tippee's sterlising equipment (I think bottles) which might be a bit cheaper then the normal high street shop :)

Kimmy - I'm so sorry hun xxx

Cheeky - glad baby is measuring a bit bigger hope all continues to go well and that it continues to wriggle for you and that all goes well hun. Hope baby decides to come early for you so all the stress is over with.

I'm still here, baby is still about - just want it to arrive now though as everything is aching but at midwife yesterday baby is still not engaged so not much chance of it arriving any time soon. 1st one was 11 days late so thinking this one is going the same way - although I do wish it would come early as feeling like a beached whale!

I feel like crap as this evening eat small three pots of triffle (when will I ever learn and really I should never by things in multipacks - I have no self control what so ever), cannot sleep and need to sleep as aiming to go swiming tomorrow morning, grrr.

Cheeky - Good news and I'm glad they're continuing to monitor so you know what's going on.

Bunny - oh the sleeplessness. I'm finding a hot milk with honey and nutmeg before bed useful at the moment.

Rosie - Soon! Hope baby engages soon!

I managed a whole 6 hours sleep last night interrupted by 1 toilet break. This is a good night compared to most. Got up, had bran flakes and heading back to bed now for some last minute catch up til husband leaves for work.

Hormones! Dear God I could eat men alive at the moment. Like a sexy snack. Husband's vaguely terrified. Franco from Rescue me/Eli from Grey's anatomy featuring heavily at the moment, follwed by a 90's Lenny Kravitz. Oh and Sean Bean. Oh and Dave Grohl. Oh and..... you get the picture. Hoping it wears off soon, I feel like a lech.

Morning Ladies

Now things are settled down, I wanted to say thank you for all your good wishes

Lexie - I remember going through that phase, it ended up with a few 'O' MG moments during the night (if you know what I mean wink wink) hubby got rather jealous cos he hadnt had a 'w-dream' since he was 14 years old lol

Rosie - I know what you mean, these last 3-5 weeks are really frustrating. I hate the waiting for the 'D' day and questioning every ache and twinge. Us two should know better considering we've had a little one before lol

Bunny - Don't fret about what you've eaten, draw a line and you can start again. Hope you have a nice swim.

JoJo - Im looking forward to seeing your scan pic.

Ive started monitoring babies movements, she is still very quiet. Ive got to count up to 10 movements and note down the time of the 10th movement. Ive been up since 8am and Ive only felt 5 movements which is unusal for baby but Im not worrying cos it took 3 hours before her movements started to feel like her normal movements.

Hope you all have a nice day x

Hi Curvey have you taken another pregnancy test since your period? Was your period 'normal' for you? It could be implatation bleeding, I do know that some women still have bleeds and think its a period.

If you've not done a new test, id do one and you'll then know whether you're pregnant or not for sure x

I'm feeling very sorry for myself.

Yesterday morning I fell down the stairs - I slipped down 3 or 4 stairs on my bum.

Luckily I had my follow up scan yesterday after they couldn't finish my anomoly so I know the baby is ok. BUT I am in absolute agony - I can't sit down or put any pressure on my bum so have found the only comfy(ish) position is lying on my side in bed.
I'm guessing I've bruised my coccyx, and I'm just hoping it'll heal pretty soon. Needless to say I'm not in work, so I'm lying in bed feeling sorry for myself as nothing will make the pain go away :-(

Sorry for the whinge

aw, hugs Sarah, don't be hard on yourself things happen but the good news is the baby is fine and make sure you look after yourself as well

no havent taken once since, not really it started of as brown staining then came properly on tues was quite heavy then went to normal again on wed, yesterday it was barely there and today its more or less gone.. think il get a test at lunch:sigh:

Aw Sara don't think it's whinging, it's bloody sore! I gave myself a cropper once playing derby and one of the other girls broke hers! so take paracetamol and strap something cold to try and numb the area for a bit to take the edge off.

Maybe make a 'ring' from a rolled up towel, like you get the inflatable ones for haemarrhoids? Might take the pressure off a wee bit?

Cheeky yeah - the 'o'mg moments? Been there, had husband thinking 'wtf'.

Yeah I know I should know better really, but am driving myself up the walls at the moment - trying to keep busy to keep my mind off it but it's not working well at the moment. Am going to go and get my feet eaten later I think - appyfeet - am hoping that will help relax me and a bit of pampering is usually good anyway.

As for baby's movements - you may find that it is settling down getting ready - or that it has changed it's routine in prep for arriving. If you don't feel anything for a while try and have a cold drink (with ice if possible) - coke works well for me. And then try lying down for 30mins or so to see if it helps baby move about, I was told to do this with DS as he was a non wriggler towards the end of the pregnancy last time. I know it's not going to be easy with a LO already but if it's possible give it a try.

Sarah - hope you're feeling better soon and able to sit comfortably, at least you know baby is comfy and fine.

Curvey - try a pregnancy test as it may well have been implantation bleeding - for some women it's very like a period but different - if you know what I mean

Hope everyone has a great day and that it's as relaxing as possible! :)
