816 miles cycled, another 50, total 866.

Got back to my Saturday intermediate group today. Anticipated that it wouldn't so fast , hilly or as long as the Sunday intermediates . Not as hilly, not as long but bloody faster. Yet again I've had legs ripped off. I look back at when I started cycling regularly this year with the B group, it was very satisfying to camp, tee 45 mikes, having a chat with like minded people. Then I thought I'd give the B p,us group a go, see if I could handle it. No worries, another great bunch of people, more challenging rides, hills ( undulating !) great laugh. Then 2 of my cycling buddies suggested the move up to the "inters" . Still fun, when it's done., but the effort, the challenge, the pain, the pleasure? I have utmost admiration for club cyclists. Again , today, I have been dragged along by ladies and gents who are in their 60s and possibly older, fit as a fiddle, wiry and look like they are made of iron. Most of them would fit in a wide drain pipe. Not a bad group to be in if you want encouragement to lose weight. That's not from any comments but from the incentive to make the ride a bit easier, up the hills, faster on the run home, generally less painful!

B. 2 fry lite eggs on 2 wm hovis. Danish , 1 laughing cow lite blue spread on, mushrooms. Lean ham

Coffee stop, Americano 2 sugars. Couldn't eat anything, too much effort....afraid I would see it again at the next hill

L. Got home absolutely famished, 2 wm hovis , toasted, laughing cow lite blue, spring onion, Swedish meatballs syns but I don't care, had 3 in my sarnie and ate 3 , topped with Branstin. The best sarnie I've had today!

D. Quorn burgers, 1 syn, southern style Quorn burger 2 syns, massive salad, 8 oz sw wedges chips, fry lite onions, peppers, salad cream 2 syns, balsamic vinegar,.....

Then had uncontrollable munchies, chocolate, 10 syns, blue berries and muller lite 1 syn, strawberries and muller lite, 1 syn. Popcorn, 5 syns, 2 t spoons chic spread, 2 syns.....and a blueberry muffin, it was delicious...... Legs hurt and my stomach is rumbling.

Hey Suz, you have been doing other things, very important things too. You will get back to doing some training when you you have he urge to and when it fits.

I did a another 70 miles with the club today, an enjoyable ride too for a change. I catch a reflection of myself in the mirror sometimes and I don't recognise myself.... I'm gradually turning into a cyclist .

866 miles cycled, another 70 , total 936,

flat through Romney Marsh, quite windy, went with the B+ group, nice cafe stop in New Romney. Enjoyed my coconut and raspberry slice and Americano with 2 sugars.also needed an Breakfast soft bar at the final stop, really felt my energy dipping.

Later had a home made from scratch chicken korma, made with yoghurt and a cream at the end, had morrisons bahjees and samosas, microwaved popadoms and a glass if beer. Loads if chopped cucumber, onions and tomatoes.

Thanks Text_f, I'm sticking with the training and trying to keep the syns lower but i get the munchies more often. I've git to start balancing the need for food to fuel my training against the need to lose weight. I now find that if I don't eat at the right times it knackers me for running when I get home, if I get in starving and eat too much it makes it hard to run. The cyclin is getting epic, mileage going up. I've an 80m lined up for Saturday, could turn it into my first century if I do some extra miles before we set off.....

400 miles walked jogged and run, 6 more walked and over 5 run on road tonight. Quicker than last week, another PB, but I felt it. Last week was a breeze, his was tough and I'm sore. Total 411 (500 last year)

Some extra lean steak mince chili , 2 nobly ends garlic bread syns and 8 oz hex b2 of wedges

3 green gauges

Thanks ladies, I'm now getting nervous about it. Whatever happens it should turn out to be the longest ride I've done to date. I'm suffering from last nights run too, v sore in top of glute........see, I'm fretting.

Just had a lovely cup cake, someone brought in loads to celebrate their wedding this weekend, went down a treat after my no carb lunch. I'm sooooo bad!

I had yesterday and today off work. Today I mostly cycled! 0933 to 1830. I took a rain check for Saturday and we are forecast heavy rain, thunder and lightning. So what else to do other bring my ride forward a day. Last night I went out for my 5 mile run and it was really tough, felt really heavy in the legs so broke it down into intervals. So this morning I wondered if I woud make a 100 miles on the bike.

I planned a route from home to Bethersden then through Appledore, Lydd and onto Dungeness. 40 miles and I was in pain at my first coffee stop at 1230. Bakewell slice was lovely and after about 15 mins I set off from Dungeness , sun was out but with a keen wind that did its best to sap my morale. I was still sore, the new saddle just seems not to bed in. Through the lanes of Romney Marsh heading to my next stop at Hythe. Voices in my head started to come out of my mouth! I was in such trouble I had to coax myself along every mile. It was painful. No real cadence, just a mish mash of different speeds to alleviate the boredom of the unrelenting flat landscape. ( never thought I would moan about flat lanes!) The last 2 miles before my cafe stop at the Hythe Light Railway Station were miserable, probably comical if you could have heard me. The coffee was the best in the world , the egg salad baguette exquisite. I spent half an hour resting up and trying to bring myself to take on the next leg. 60 miles down, just the home run, which would be about 40.

I had stuck religiously to sipping my drinks every 15 to 20 mins, and at this stop I forgot to top one of bottles. No Garmin Edge 500 or 800 to show me the way or record my heart rate. I had my route hand written on some card and attached to my brake cables with clothes pegs ( old school....more like couldn't afford one). Off along the Royal Military Canal cycle path, nearly off road in parts, made me think of Paris - Roubaix , that must be hell on earth, bouncing up and down slippery cobbles. Remind me never to enter that. A couple of missed turns, tiredness , not concentrating made the winding lanes longer.

Thankfully the wind had abated and gave no trouble. A bit more mixed terrain near Ham Street and I was out of the flatlands. 85 miles on the clock and I got lost trying to find Bethersden. Eventually a sign, Bethersden 7.5 miles. It was an undulating lane, rough and bone shaking. I cursed myself for not keeping to the A road. I was running out of drink too and felt thirsty. I found Bethersden and was desperate to get to Smarden to buy a drink. I pushed on, heady speeds of 15,16 and 17 mph. I stopped at a pub and they kindly filled my bottle with water. A couple of dextrose tablets and off to Headorn. The 100 mile clocked over on a back lane and I managed to lift my self to hit 24 mph on a couple of the smoother roads. I made it home . 102 miles on the clock.

All so that I would miss the rain and be able to go to my mother in laws birthday party tomorrow afternoon. My legs are killing, I wonder why. Had a cold bath after, another first. Then filled my face with spag Bol and a can of Ruddles County. What a reward!

936 miles cycled another 102 , 1038 total .

WOW!! Very well to done you, I have to admit though I'm a little disappointed that there are non of your amusing typos in your write up! Well done too with your weigh in, no surprise that you're losing with all that gruelling exercise. Enjoy having a food and drink splurge over the bank holiday, you deserve it, :)

Thanks Suzyflo, I wrote iit in the cold bath post ride, it probably made my fingertips work better on the ipad! It was a tough ride , doing it on my own and the flat terrain did not help. I enjoyed my mother in laws party, had a few beers and loads of meat, treated myself to some crisps too.

Thank you texty_f. I can't lie and say that I kicked it, it was really tough., I desperately needed that water, so glad I stopped. I was only 8 or 10 miles from home and thought about pushing on but glad I'd didn't.
