Ramblings of a Bee on Exante

Hey Lynne, hay fever seems to have calmed down a bit at the moment which is a relief. Such a major pain and nuisance to deal with. Right, I had my weigh in yesterday and actually gained 2lbs, feeling rather deflated. It was real struggle yesterday to not just give in to the carbs, i was extremely tempted. Quite amazing how the mind plays such a big role in this, at the end of the day, my overall loss is still there but that gain really got me down big time yesterday and bizarrely enough, I feel fatter today. Which I know is just in my mind, but still. Weird huh.
There's not an awful lot I can do right now, I'm going away tonight for a long weekend. All my Exante food packs are packed and prepared and I'm determined to stick with it. Back home on Monday so I will start a whole new focused approach. I guess I have let things slide a little bit, making more allowances as I was going along. Still all totally low carb but I guess after being on such a low calorie intake my body just reacted to it. So I suppose I know what's gone wrong. But it is nevertheless a bit depressing. If I think I had a 5.5lb gain after 10 days of mega pigging out on carbs, 2lb gain after a few bits of low carb food, e.g. the odd egg or some chicken, it does make me wonder what actually happened this week, if perhaps it was just one of those gains where there isn't much of an explanation. *sigh*
How's everyone else doing? Still on the wagon I hope? I'm clinging on to the wagon with both hands at the moment and feel like it wouldn't take much to throw me off. To add insult to injury, I couldn't post yesterday at all as my internet was down and I felt so cut off. I realised how much I need the forum for support. So keep it coming peeps :D

I wonder if the sluggish feeling from the hayfever meds could be part of the problem too ?
Or is TOTM due ?
How has your water intake been ?

You are right to want to go back to basics. You know that when you do, you will lose weight.
Enjoy your weekend. I'm not sure I could have Exante on a weekend away though :p, so I wish you luck !!

Ahhh.... just noticed TOTM was last week....
Hmmm... maybe the meds... maybe more water to flush them and the fat oot o yer body ;)
 
Hey Marge, yes I suppose it's quite possible, I had to take my antihistamines for nearly two weeks straight when normally I try and alternate a bit so I don't have them every day. And although they are the non-drowsy type, they still make you a bit foggy. Must admit my water intake has been on the lower side of things, always over 1.5l, but struggling to get down more than that. So that's something to work on definitely. And I've not been sleeping well at all the last week, not sure why but had to take stuff to help me sleep but that means when you get up you feel like you've been run over by something.

I was in a good zone before mentally and I want to get back there, had a proper spring in my step and felt very motivated. So when I'm back from long weekend (all fingers and toes crossed to stick to Exante) I will go right down to 100% TS again. I'm so close to getting into the 13's and feel a bit frustrated that I seem to be a bit stuck. So my goal is to be a little less hard on myself whilst not making excuses either. And only weigh in once weekly.
 
Sleep deprivation doesn't help, I find anyway. I know a few others say they have pants losses when they haven't slept right too :)

You have a weekend away. Enjoy it.
Don't feel guilty about it, because YOU will be back on Monday, and back to Exante :D

Stalker free and refreshed, I'm back from my long weekend! I must say I'm rather proud of myself. I stuck with my intended plans, had porridge in the mornings and bars at lunch. And a proper, but low carb, meal in the evening. So far, so good. Soaked up the sun, it's been a glorious few days and I'm so much happier :)

I've got a few bits of LC food left over from the weekend, so will finish off today and then be back on 100% again tomorrow. WI tomorrow as well. Really hoping I've just stayed the same. It's weird how this can mess with your head, being away from your usual routine and perhaps not losing last week makes me think instantly that I must have gained in size, but my clothes are just as loose as they were and it gives me a bit of comfort, knowing I've done things as well as possible.
Really caught the sun too, and look quite tanned and healthy. And with such an amazing day today, I looked in the mirror earlier and thought: I look nice. Ok I know that sounds really conceited. But I've been so down on myself for being so overweight that I've not been quite able to feel happy with myself at any stage in my weight loss process. So today I feel pretty :D:D:D (By next totm, that feeling will be well and truly gone, so I'm gonna cling on to it)

How's everyone else doing? Must catch up on diaries soon xxx

Hi Bee. You sound so positive. Can't believe you did so well food wise while you were away! You sound like you had a lovely time away - good for you. I'm really looking forward to hearing how much you weigh tomorrow. You never know, you might have lost. Fingers crossed!

Right, sorry I couldn't update yesterday, internet mega wobbly at the moment. Anyways, I weighed in at 14st3lb which means I have lost most of my gain. I think I would have lost more but I just couldn't drink a lot over the weekend and with the heat I reckon it might be a bit of water retention in there too. Have really upped my fluid intake again and will try my very hardest to get back to 100%.
I'm finding it a bit hard coz I got quite used to eating, albeit only in the evenings and only low carb. But I have decided I will phase it out by the end of this week and then go back on 100% TS. I'm going away the last two weeks in August, and will have 5 weeks from next week. And I will lose a stone in that time. I've decided :D

Hey Nat, I'm sure you can do the rest of the week before going away, it's really hard to allow life to interfere without throwing you off the rails altogether. I hope you have a lovely weekend, weather is meant to be amazing again. Could you factor in one nice low carb meal but stick to packs and gallons of water for the rest? It might give you that break without going off plan altogether.

Yes Whoop!! Although I'm not actually nearer my goal, just lost most of my gain. Then again, it's just not fazed me at all for some reason. I just took in the number when stepping on the scales yesterday and thought, ah yes, there we are, moving on.

Wow you've literally got one week before going off to Philly.....How are things? Are your new holiday clothes nearer fitting? xx
 
Hey bee well done for almost getting back to where u were weight wise.i am also nearly there all but a pound! Have managed to stay 100% for past 2days and am gonna try my best to do same today.decided one day at a time lol would really love to see the scales below 14.5 though bit I shall press on.

Well done to everyone think we all need to be kinder to ourselves really xxxxx
 
Hi Bee. Hope you had a good day today. I'm getting quite excited about my holiday now although I'm struggling to get things sorted at work. I fly a week today after staying overnight in Manchester. Most of the new clothes fit now (although some are a bit tight) and I've still got a week to lose weight. Hoping I'll get into the 11s before I go. Didn't manage to do 100% today. Got a bit stressed and had 5 chicken drumsticks after my bar at lunchtime! Also had a large iced latte at the train station on the way home. Really hope you lose a stone before you go away at the end of August.
