Sandra's maintenance diary.....

Thx Chicken's in the oven and I've got a large voddie to hand:D

Great reasons to celebrate - including compliments from the optician's ;) - I hope you enjoyed your evening :) xx

Thx guys. Yes we had a lovely dinner and I had a couple of large vodkas as well as the SB.......Paul's just about to go into the office today to assist with the move of the new people and I'm going to do an hour at the gym and meet a friend for coffee and, maybe, a sandwich....

Today's food.....

B porridge made 1/2 n 1/2, vitamin C drink
L leek and potato soup, a slice of toast with lf liver pate
D haven't looked in the fridge or freezer yet!

Have decided that this week was a right off! Think that I've stayed the same but wi on Monday will reveal the truth!

Only had peppermint tea with my pals as I was going to the gym after. Managed 20 mins on the bike and 40 on the treadmill, only 4km an hour but on incline 2 so I got quite sweaty! Burnt about 300 calories which is about half of what I would've done before the op.....so getting there! I've noticed that my bum is starting to firm up again, it was totally flat on the side that has been operated on but now I can tense it properly and it actually moves. One of my friends actually asked me where my bum had gone.....dunno if that's a good or a bad thing? I do still want a bum thx very much.

Glad u had a lovely night - plus it sounds like you have a lovely day ahead of you too! Bring it on ... lol x

Been meaning to say to you I've started using Spatone for my iron! It's a natural replacement without stomach side effects, horrid taste etc! If u take it with fresh orange, I dont notice taste at all and the orange speeds up iron absorption! You can't get it on prescription but my GP says it's great and he recommends it. You get it in Boots and most chemists and is about 4 quid for 14 sachets so less than a tenner a month.... It's sooooo much better than that awful ferrous sulphate - I was on the liquid and the taste - urrghh - and my teeth stained and basically yuk yuk yuk lol x

Thx for that Vanessa I'll get some. Do you know if you can get a home testing kit for anaemia ? I'd like to know if my blood levels have gone up to where they were before the op, without spending nearly £40 to see the doctor. I've started to feel tons better and got some colour back in my cheeks but I don't know how long it takes.....it would be good to dump the supplements and stop pooing tar:eek:

£40 to see the doc?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad you had a good time at the gym and are slowly getting back to it :) xx

The benefits of seeing the Doc sure outweigh the cost - I think there is no comparison where health is concerned.

Go and see your Doc and keep on tip top condition.

Yup £40! I told you that it was bloody expensive to live over here! I know you're right Mary but I'd rather blow the money in the sales! Since I haven't been earning I feel a bit guilty spending money on me.....Paul doesn't say anything but I do feel 'funny' being 'kept'! I worked for over 30 years and earned a really hefty salary, now I get zilch:( not for long though, hopefully I will get a job in the not too distant future.....LK Bennett and Karen Millen here I come!

:fingerscrossed: for you chick :) x

Oooooh yes Primark or, Primarni as I like to refer to it ;) hehe

Ermmmmm we don't have Primark! Far too down-market:eek: seriously we don't even have a choice of supermarkets.....it's tough here in tax haven land.....

YES!! Defo hit primark - you will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya know, when I went to turkey year before last even they had a primark! lol

Yeah I think so.....there's plusses and minuses to everywhere aren't there? Jersey is beautiful and pretty much free of crime but it costs an arm and a leg to live here. That's why we bought the house in France with the intention of retiring there but that's not looking likely cos of the strength of the euro and the rate of taxes that we'd have to pay ....can't win these days can you?:sigh:

Don't know about home kits - think u better doing it properly although I too, am eeeek'ing at the 40 pound!

if it's any help - my iron level was down to 6 in October and last week was up to 15 (normal range 26-500'ish). Haematologist says once I reach 50, I can stop supplements or at least reduce significantly but to assume at least another 3 months ...

Thats nothing €55 for a gp visit here and thats just for the visit you then have to go a pay for your prescription which is never less than €25!

Yikes!!! And I thought our £7odd prescription charge was a bummer!!
