Sandra's maintenance diary.....

Mary are you saying you never eat after 11 ... so you go from 11 till after 7am with nothing?? Not sure that's wise if it is the case - but what do I know?! ;) xx

I just treat it like a normal day. This is my first shift, I had breakfast at Midday, Dinner at 4pm, then my supper now at 11pm - ish.

Tomorrow, I go straight to bed, I get up at 12 and have breakfast, dinner again or snack at 4pm, then my other meal at 11pm tomorrow night.

The following morning, I go straight to bed again, I get up at 12 and have breakfast, thus just treating it like normal. When I am home, I am in bed by 11 ish and dont eat nothing all night, so its just like a normal day for me.

Eating nothing when you're asleep is a lot different to eating nothing when you're awake and active ... but we all find the way that works best for us. I couldn't go for that length of time with nothing whilst awake but maybe that's more psychological - I dont know xx

Heck that is a along time woman! :p
I certainly couldnt do that. 2am - 6am is long enough for me! lol

Aww my job isnt exactly strenuous though Jan. If I worked 4 shifts on night, obviously I would change my eating pattern, but its just worked out like this over the 6 years I have been doing it. Just like a normal day, moved on by a few hours. Usually I dont eat after 7pm at home on my days off - unless that munchy devil gets onto my shoulders.

Well you haven't fallen down in a dead faint yet so I guess it's not doing you any harm ;) xx

I'm starving when i get home!! :( xx

I'm starving when i get home!! :( xx

Me too!!! But i do just go straight to bed - probably why i love my breakfasts! :D

Ooooo no I have to have me breakie when I get in ... i'ntit funny how we all cope ;) xx

I think my body is just accustomed to the 3 meals at certain times. I just wish it would find a way to come accustomed to NOT snacking!

If you find that secret you will be a rich woman!!!!!! :D

Oh it's most definitely listening to your appetite!! Without a doubt! MY trouble is I don't hear/understand/know what my body is saying. If I could do that there wouldn't be a problem ... never would have been a problem ...

You may well have found your ideal weight and as you haven't been a serial yo-yo-er all your life may well have cracked it!!!

Oh that it was that simple! I have dieted periodically but only to lose about a stone.....the weight that I am now is the weight that I used to stay at, quite comfortably, until 2005 when I started having health problems. Tbh I'm beginning to wonder if I should just quit worrying about it.....but I've promised myself another half a stone! I know (hope) exactly where it needs to come off as well, my tummy and the outside of my thighs. There are three recognisable pads of flesh.....

I'm sure getting older is a huge factor too, otherwise why would the BMI charts say that you can have a couple of extra points when you get to 50? That's my excuse anyway:D

Busy day again today and have been out for most of it. Didn't weigh this morning as hadn't slept well and so had coffee and breakfast before I remembered that today was wi day.....will do so tomorrow. Tbh am beginning to think that Monday is not a good day......

Today's food

B Branflakes and milk, met friends for coffee, had 2 cappuccinos. Would normally have had peppermint tea but needed the coffee to wake up!
L 2 slices of toast with lf liver pate, handful of cherry tomatoes, 2 finger kitkat
D salmon fillet, baked in the oven with fresh herbs and lemon, new potatoes,
asparagus with hollandaise, carrots
Hot choc

Didn't have the spinach after all as there was loads of asparagus and the hollandaise was amazing, we ate late too so didn't bother with any pudding.....

Still not counting, just eating what and when I want! Just to see what happens........

Will be interesting to see the results of how you are eating Sandra. You aren't exactly going overboard, so I think you should be fine.

Yep - looking good :) - and sure you're right about the 50 thing :( xx

Sandra, hope the change in your eating plan works out for you. No reason why it shouldn't as you are making great choices. It is a bit of pick and mix till you find an eating plan that suits your tastes, lifestyle and that you can stick with. Maintaining TFR losses is not so easy and takes constant vigilance. You are so right that once you hit the 50 the hormones also make it harder!!
Hope you have a good day tomorrow and that your pain will have eased.

Not much Vanessa just got up! Problem is now my bloody shoulder, I had a cortisone injection in November and it's clearly worn off! I've just rung the doctor and he can see me next Tuesday.....I am going to have to have a couple of sleeping pills in order to get some shut eye as I'm totally knackered, too tired to hit the gym that's for sure......why is it when one pain goes it's replaced by another?

How're you today? X
