Sandra's maintenance diary.....

Don't know about home kits - think u better doing it properly although I too, am eeeek'ing at the 40 pound!

if it's any help - my iron level was down to 6 in October and last week was up to 15 (normal range 26-500'ish). Haematologist says once I reach 50, I can stop supplements or at least reduce significantly but to assume at least another 3 months ...

Mine was 9 when I was in hospital but no idea what it is now..... unless I start to feel poorly again I'll just carry on! BP is 110/60 so that's up a bit, it was 80/50 at lowest point in hospital.

All good fun innit?!

I think u should definitely keep on with supplements! 9 very low and you've only done 3 months - reckon u should do 6 months to be safe - or get bloods done to find out for sure lol.

Low BP pisser eh! Can't remember what top was but bottom number was 73 once stabilised last week .... Woop woop! (even mid 60s has been an excuse for celebration recently - urs is still very very low (another reason for u to get to docs for blood and BP check) I know nothing really to be done for low BP generally but if its anaemia linked (bound to be at least in some part), then it can get better! Make that appt missus!

Ps. Don't think u get tar poo on Spatone! Mine certainly seems to be lessening and that's just been a few days! Sorry to everyone else re 'too much information' there lol

Haven't been on here so much over the weekend so consequently haven't given food too much consideration.......couldn't weigh myself this morning as the scales need a new battery and I couldn't be arsed to come downstairs and find one! Probably just as well as we had Chinese last night and M&S baked Alaska with salty caramel, a bit too sweet cos of the meringue but the caramel middle was lush....

The weather here is gorgeous today, still sunny now even though it's 5 o'clock, so we spent the morning down on the boat with coffee and the Sunday papers. Did think about going for brunch but we'd only had brekkie a couple of hours earlier......could probably have forced eggs benedict down my throat if I'm honest:eek: but I didnt:D

Today's food....

B porridge made 1/2 and 1/2
L prawn sandwich made with granary bread and a dollop of elf Hellmans mayo, handful of cherry tomatoes, 2 finger kitkat
D homemade pea and ham soup, 2slices granary bread with elf spread
Hot choc and the last red devil!

It doesn't look like much does it?

Not a lot of food there Sandra, I think you need to have more substantial meals, unless this is just a one off.

Was still pretty stuffed from last nights Chinese Mary! Just had a long hot bath and going to have the soup, will have a couple of bits of bread with it.....

Do you know? I think that I actually eat less if I'm not pointing it...does that make sense? Be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow, must remember to take some batteries to bed with me......oo errrrr.....that sounds bad:eek:

Yes that DOES sound bad ;)

I understand completely about not eating as much when you're not pointing. This is the main reason I dind't want to get into any sort of counting plan yet here I am  x

It's weird how folk are different! I find it easier to count everything - it reins in that tendency to think 'well if I've had that, then I might aswell have that too' ad-infinitum lol. If I do have it, I find that counting shows me the damage isn't necessarily as bad as I feared so I find it easier to stop there!

OMG talk about tempting fate! I found a choc Santa the other day that's been talking to me in my sleep ever since - insidious little git! Might bite his head off to shut him up!

I tend to eat purely because the points are left - not because I'm hungry or want/need anything. I wish I could just learn to listen to & understand my body  xx

True :( xx

So what's best? Eat cos we think we should be having the full quota of points or listen to your appetite?

Since finishing LT I have rarely felt that I was starving....often I only feel hungry when I actually start to eat. Have I found my ideal weight as it's not going up or down?

Oh it's most definitely listening to your appetite!! Without a doubt! MY trouble is I don't hear/understand/know what my body is saying. If I could do that there wouldn't be a problem ... never would have been a problem ...

You may well have found your ideal weight and as you haven't been a serial yo-yo-er all your life may well have cracked it!!!

On the core plan, you eat until you are comfortably full, not stuffed. I will also eat slower, as it takes your brain 20 minutes to realise it is full.............stupid brain eh!

No good for me then ... I don't understand 'full' ... never have. If we could all eat till we're full, stop and not eat again till we're hungry then eat till we're full etc etc etc there wouldn't be a problem would there? :( ... I'm quite sure some of us are missing a gene or a chromosome or some such physical whotsit that tells us when we're 'full'. xx

Well, I have NOT had my ham salad yet, and usually I have scoffed my supper when working by 10pm. Trying to be good.

When I'm working I try not to eat before 3am (you start a lot earlier than me though!) I don't always make it but somehow that makes me feel as though I'm more in control ... crazy really  xx

Not crazy at all!
It's like i don't like to eat after 2am which is why all my meals are densed into around 12hours.

I'm thinking of swapping to start counting calories :sigh:
