Sarah83's Food Diary 2014

Yay it's Friday! Hope you've all got fab weekends planned! Friday 24th Jan - EE Breakfast: Banana Lunch: ?? Not sure. Haven't brought anything to work so I'm going to have to buy something. Thinking something like a freshly made turkey salad with all free veggies something like that. Dinner: Sticky chicken thighs with honey and sweet chilli - 2 syns. With either sauteed potatoes, or crushed potatoes (HEXB for olive oil) and chantenay carrots. Snacks etc: Milk in coffees (HEXA), apple, pear, grapes, vino... Total syns - 2 planned for food, then I'll prob have approx 12 on wine tonight

Your dinner is making my mouth water and it's not even 9am!!!! Yum yum yum!!! (And also the wine is completely brilliant too ;) )

Haha I know I'm eating an apple to try and keep the hunger away lol!

I've actually no idea how I'm going to do the chicken, but I had boneless/skinless chicken thighs in the freezer, and I thought some sort of sticky chicken would hopefully stave me away from a naughty Friday night treat (like last weeks chinese ).

So I'm thinking of either cutting the chicken into strips and frying it, or roasting in the oven, both with a combo of soy sauce, sweet chilli and honey (will have to check honey syns, I know sweet chilli is 1.5 per tbsp) so it goes all thick and sticky.

yumyumyum

The thing is I was quite happy to go back to work to be honest, a year off work was long enough for me. It would just be nice to have more than 2 days a week with her!
You'll love going back to work I'm sure and I'm sure it'll be easier than you think. Have you started to have any odd days back, is it 'settling in days' they call them? That might make you feel a bit better as you can see all your colleagues again.

How often will you have to do late shifts? Will you be able to spend some time in the morning with her if you're starting late? I feel awful on Thursday's when I have my Welsh classes as I don't get to see my daughter that evening so I know what you mean.

That's great you have those options for childcare - will be nice for her to see different people every week too, and I guess you could always put her in nursery for a day or two if you can't get people to have her everyday. You'll save a fortune not having to pay for nursery though - we pay £42 a day and she's in full time so it costs an absolute fortune. Trouble is we really don't have an option as all of my family are on the other side of the country, and my MIL works full time. The nursery we use is fantastic though so that makes it a bit easier!

Yeah I can understand what you mean, I think if I did have a year off I would be egar to go back. It will be nice to be me and not Mummy for some hours of the day if that makes sense. Yeah, I would love to have more days with her too, we need to win the lottery. Or marry rich men lol.

I do have 10 days that I can do that, but I've decided to bite the bullet and just do it, and go back. All my holiday starts again when I go back, so if i'm struggling I can always take a day off every week or couple of weeks. Im sure I will be fine.

Yeah were really happy, as at first when we fell pregnant we were thinking she would be in a nursery 5 days. Then everyone started to offer to have her, I was shocked the most at my mum as she wasn't happy at first we got pregnant lol. She is besotted now and always wants her.

Yeah, even if its for 1 day, least then she will interact with people her own age, if its when she is older. I'm going to try and sort it out properly with what times and days they can have her, so I can plan.

I will have to do a late about 1 or 2 times a week, it depends on who is on holiday etc, I will have early shifts so get to spend more time with her. I need to pull my finger ot and get my driving lessons sorted, at I will be able to get home quicker.

I totally get what you mean!

Sounds like you've thought about it a lot though and you've got it planned in your head so that's the main thing.

I can't drive either. In fact neither of us could when we first had her but luckily hubby passed his test when she was a month old and bought a car a month later. Good job really it's essential now!

I would love to have lessons but we just can't afford it at the mo. I'll probably start when she's in school and we have a bit of spare cash.

Sorry to hear your mum wasn't happy when you first got pregnant, but I'm glad she's happy now :)

Well tonight ended up being a fakeaway!

I cooked up some egg fried rice with spring onions, garlic and peas, and I sliced up chicken thighs and mixed them up with soy, garlic, sweet chilli, honey and sesame oil, and stir fried them.

Yum yum yummy.

I did cheat a bit and use sesame oil as my HEXB but surely that's still better than a takeaway... ;--)

Morning everyone!

Well my little darling decided to get me up at 5am today, clearly she doesn't understand the meaning of Saturdays lol.

I've weighed this morning and I've only lost 0.5lb. I'm a bit disappointed but a loss is a loss I suppose and I'm down 3lb in 3 weeks so if I keep up with that then I'll be over 3stone lighter this time next year.

Hubby is working today so my and my daughter are going to have a girly day, going to pop to the library this morning and have a wander round the charity shops to see if I can find her any pressies, then I think we'll do some baking this afternoon.

Hope you all have great weekends too x

That sounds wonderful.

0.5 is great well done :)

Your food for today sounds lovely too and the takeaway is such a good idea I will definitely have to give it a go!

Have a lovely day!

Well I haven't been completely saintly today and can admit that a couple of custard creams, a mini welshcake and a couple of glasses of wine have passed my lips...

But I wanted to share my delish dinner. I made the burgers using extra lean turkey mince, grated onion and carrot, and plenty of cumin, paprika and oregano. They were yummy!

Thanks. Well it tasted fab when I tried it yesterday!

It's from the website: slimming eats. If you haven't been on it then take a look as they're all slimming world friendly recipes.

I really do love my slow cooker in the winter and can see me using it once a week. I was tempted to buy a brisket joint on the weekend to cook in there but it would have been £10 for the joint without me knowing for sure if I'd like it. I'll have to find a nice recipe for it first me thinks xx

I've been really bad today. I'm on a bit of a downer as I often am on a Monday and it didn't help when my daughter was screaming for me when I left her at crèche this morning.

Anyway I have managed to consume a kinder bueno, a bag of walkers crisps and a chicken and bacon prepacked sandwich.

I'm feeling so annoyed with myself, my lack of willpower and my emotional eating habits. But it's done now :-(

It's done like you said and Mondays can be a horrible day! Flexisyn it and draw a line under it! You're right it is done now and you will be just fine just imagine yourself at your interim target or goal and think about how good it will feel!

Big hugs! I hate Mondays!!!
