Sarah's Target & 10K Mission

Soz to barge in...I'm thinking of maybe doing the same! I've had my implant for just over 2 years now and it's worked a dream up until crimbo when I suddenly Hve random * weeks or fortnights without warning! If you get it and it lasts 5 years...if you decide you want it out sooner or you want to have kiddies, do you know how long it takes you to get back to normal?!

Mmm those pesky snickers have such loud mouths when they are calling you don't they!? :) I guess you can only do your best and look forward to getting back into a routine once the move is done....I'm sure you will be having a few celebratory meals or takeaways in the first few days so enjoy!! :) xxx

You're welcome to jump in anytime, missy, you know this! The implant sounded good to me too, but I'm super squeamish so couldn't deal with the idea of it! You can have it taken out at any time and I think it only takes a few weeks or a month for you to get back to normal. It definitely gets a big thumbs up from me!

Yep definitely looking forward to getting back on-plan. Will give myself a few days for bubbly and takeaways but then need to be back on it. Gonna try 5:2 like you're doing as I've got quite a few weekend things coming up and I don't want to sabotage myself too much! xxx

Have you thought about a Mirena? The pill used to give me the most awful migraines (to the point I was on beta-blockers and at risk of a stroke!) so I came off that and the nurse recommended a coil. All doctors seem to have them, they have very few side effects and a lost of people (like me), don't have a single * week once it has settled down after a few days so no PMT, no cramps etc. Might be worth considering? xx

The idea scares me for some reason. But now that I know someone who has it I might well consider it in the future. At the moment i'm enjoying the feeling of taking nothing just because i feel so well bar 3 days of *. Pills don't work for me very well and i'm a bit squeamish for the implant so the coil could be the way forward xxxx.

I was terrified when I had the first one, but it's honestly not a lot worse than a smear and it's only once every five years. Worth thinking about if you decide you feel like you want something again xx

That reminds me I need to book mine! :/ Yeah definitely worth considering, thank you lovely xxxx

Loving all this lady chat!!

I'd had the implant twice and decided to go for something different (I like to mix it up!)... read up on all the options and decided on the mirena... when I went to the clinic to get it fitted, I ended up walking out with another implant!! The consultant had advised me whilst I was young, fit and baby-less that the implant was the best option if I wasn't squeamish. She only advised non-squeamish women to get it after having a bambino.

Ging - I've had it 3 times now and that always happens to me too but it does settle again! x

Lol. It's so random when you set your mind on one thing, only to come out with something different! Yep, I'm definitely too squeamish for the implant - just the thought of it freaks me out a little bit! lol xx

I'm not loving this hump day - my Grannie (the very frail one) had a fall this morning and has a broken elbow. It's her right arm and she's right handed, so she literally can't do anything herself, not even sip water, bless her. They are keeping her in hospital overnight but am really worried because apparently they tried to give her cocodamol earlier for the pain, which they know she can't have because it makes her totally lose her marbles! Nightmare.

Straight off to see her after work tonight so will no doubt end up with a takeaway afterwards because it'll be late and we'll all be tired. Let's hope she has super-lovely nurses like missemma looking after her! xxx

Aw bless you. Hope she's alright & well looked after xx

Aw no :( I hope that she is okay. I'm sure she will cheer up when she sees your beautiful face. xxxx

Sorry to hear about your gran. Hopefully when you see her tonight your mind will be put at ease, bless her! I have the same thing with co-codemol, they send me gaga! x

Thanks for all the love (as always!) gorgeous ladies!

Grannie was quite well in herself last night and was most concerned that she wouldn't be able to help us move house on Monday. Bless her!! Her elbow was HUGE although she couldn't actually remember why she was in hospital in the first place. It's a shame they can plaster an elbow, it's just in a cuff/sling so she keeps moving it around, which I don't suppose helps with the swelling.

We are all feeling torn between wanting to get her home safe and wanting her to stay in because we have no idea how she will be able to manage at home on her own. It's difficult having her stay with any of us because she has a stair lift etc. at her house and would struggle with the stairs without it. Definitely need to have a chat with the nurses tonight and see what they can recommend in terms of at home care.

Maybe this will kick my uncles into touch and make them realise how much my mum has already been doing and that she can't do any more.

Anyway, enough rambling and again, thank you so much for your lovely messages. You are all so awesome.

xxx

Oh, and also, 4 sleeps 'til we move! Whoooooooooooop whoooooooooop! xx

Aw I'm glad she is good in herself!

And I completely appreciate the rant. It can take people too much before they starting helping!

And wahoooooo not long at all :D bless her worrying about not being able to help you move <3 xxxx.

Just like Christmas - just with more stuff to wrap and unwrap ;)

Any improvement with Simon honey? You are doing so incredibly well staying on-plan through all this. You really are such a huge inspiration!! xxx

Awwww Sarah so sorry to hear about your gran but also happy to hear that she's in good spirits and being well looked after! You don't need any further stress added to the joys of moving so I'm sure it's a weight off your shoulders.

Does your gran have a social worker? You can get the social worker involved with regard to her discharge and post-hospital care, she can even arrange an assessment with regard to anything she might need at home to help/support her, i.e. any further equipment, a care worker etc.

I'm sure your mum is exhausted, my mum is the same. My mum works full-time (probably about 70 hours a week!) and travels 40 mins twice a week to spend nights with my granny... it really is just so intense and you're right - bloody boys do nothing!! xx

Thanks sweetheart. No improvement so this morning his doctors decided it will be surgery. Hopefully I can keep myself together mentally and SW wise. :) x
