Scotsmists Take on Life!!!!!! And everything else :-)

oh so true Tanya but TRF I have to confess has messed with my head, food wise, so this is a more sensible approach for me with the problem I deal with! It seems to be keeping things at bay, but yes, trying to tell myself that the loss may not be the 9-11lbs I am used to on my first week, but at least it will be a loss and not a gain :)!!!

Indeed iris! You will be heading in the right direction and thats all that matters no matter how long it may take :D x

Iris, it really sounds as if you have found a plan that suits you well. I can feel your enthusiasm for it in your posts. TFR is great but we all have to deal with the real world of food at some point. The RC diet will suit you in your weightloss phase and you can then adopt it for maintaining afterwards. Try and have patience with it, as long as you are losing a little each week you will know you are doing well. The big losses on TFR spoil us a bit, so we need to adjust our thinking when using any other eating plans.Onwards and downwards!!

Absolutely spot on Irish, Iris definitely seems enthusiastic with the RC and doing really well. A pound or two every week will be great Iris, plus give you the time you need to adjust to your eating habits.

Keep up the great work girl.

Thanks IrishMolly! You are so right; I am building myself up for the overall weight loss on Sunday at WI as I know it wont be the usual first week loss I am used to on TFR, but then again, if I lose is slower MAYBE this time around it will stay off ;-)!!

Yes, I am really enjoying the program, although do feel a little hungry today which apprently is expected and body starting to eat into reserves!! Will just keep glugging my water, which I am still doing anyway.

Yes, taken me a long time to realise that I am a bit different as I have an issue with food and knocking it out was actually making me worse. I was GREAT on the shakes and I cant knock them, but when food was introduced I didnt know really what to do and just binged! So, this is helping..if I feel I need a little extra I can at least know I can have a piece of fruit and it wont do that much damage to the program!

Stupid thing is I did RC years ago and have always liked her program, but I got caught up in the quick fix ideology!!! DOHHHHH....well, I must learn slower than others

Day 4 (half way through Wk 1)...drum rollllllll

Brekkie
30gm fruit and fibre
115 gm raspberries (had about 100gm)

125gm quorn mince
Onions
mushrooms

What is the actual name of the book Iris? I might just invest in this myself for after the holidays.

Loving the menu's Iris, looks like something I could cope with.

What about alcohol? Are you allowed (I know you dont drink) to have any extra points or whatever it is to use on alcohol?

Rosemary Conley Amazing Inch Loss Plan
ISBN 978-1-846-05706-9

I got it from Waterstones - 10.99 as I was being impatient, but you can buy from Amazon (think Jan found it) for around £6.49 or thereabouts, free carriage!!!!

Defo recommend it,,,it is really common sense. Not that fussed on the actual meals; they are all right for the weeks I need to do it, but I have recipe books of RC at home which are far nicer to be honest, but for a few weeks I can cope with them - they are not vile, just not terribly adventerous..(sp)!!

You cant drink the first 2 weeks, but you can introduce alcohol on week 3 but within your allowance.
It says
Add ons from Wk 3
1 alcoholic drink or High fat treat - 100cals
and
1 low fat dessert or low fat treat - 100cals

I think you can keep them and use up say 700 in one day so long as you dont use them on the other days! So, it is achievable. So long as you can knock it out for 2 weeks.

The old vodkas are the demon!!!! I love my drink but find any week I indulge or perhaps overindulge that it is a STS or a gain!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this stage after LT and now on GL I don't miss alcohol so much and have just one or two drinks once or twice a week. For me THAT is a change!!!
Iris, you are halfway through your week now. Good going , keep it up. You have mentioned that you will adapt RC foods to others after you get to goal. Why not have a look at some GL type plans. I'm a convert at this stage as I find it very easy to accommodate and do not feel I am dieting at all. I am following Patrick Holford's Gl Diet Bible and have read some Nigel Denby (GL Diet made Easy)I think!!

Hi Irish

Thanks for that...I do have a book on GI/GL foods, etc and I am a great fan and believer of this! RC diet is low GI and there are alternative recipes for low carb as well, which is good. But, the concept of eating low GI and therefore not feeling hungry is brill!

Glad you are enjoying it and I will actually look out my book as I know there are some fab recipes in it and might even post a few :)

Day 5

Going strong folks!!!! havent faltered once...did my two hour stint last night, coreball and then pilates, BUT guys I got the fit of the giggles in the pilates class....I said something and I didnt realise what I had said until my friend erupted in laughter!!!

We were doing floor exercises with bands and I just felt so inflexible and said to the girl on my left (who had done the coreball too) that she was so flexible.....and then I said, I am like a big stiffy! Well, I didnt even think anything rude, but my friend on the right (who is a wicked woman ;-)) laughed and laughed....then everyone wanted to know, BUT I couldnt say obviously!!!!!!! Did at the end to the class trainer ....hhah...so, as we were trying to relax about 5 mins later, I kept giggling outloud...oh dear!! It was fun though.

Anyway I go off the subject (which isnt a bad thing really)!!!

Food as planned yesterday :)

TODAY
BREKKIE
Bit of a strange brekkie and didnt seem much.
4 prunes, soaked in 100gm of natural yoghurt and 1 TSP (yes teaspoon)!!! of porage oats

POWER SNACKS, STILL TO HAVE
Not sure what I will have....still have some grapes so may have 12 grapes or 1 orange!!!

LUNCH
100gm cottage cheese mixed with salad and 1 tsp of LF mayo
1 x Mullerlight yoghurt (oh my favourite - NOT)!

DINNER
150gm rump steak....should be making into kebabs, but think I will do something else with it, with green vegs (having mangetout) and salad in fat free dressing.

Feeling great still and really enjoying reading the book and the inspiration every day she gives you!

I have some friends coming from Stoke on Saturday and I am feeding them so I am having to wrack my brains so that I am not having anything different,PLUS I dont really want to be cooking all day, so I might opt for good old M&S meal and ensure I am within my calorie count and fat gram for the meal (can do this from what the book says) :)

Onwards and upwards !!!

Glad its going good for you Iris, thats the main thing, being happy in what you are doing.

I would have been in stitches in the gym too, I am a giggler, and once I start, I find it hard to stop.

Keep it up Iris, hope you have another great day chick, and I hope you are not too full up on that teaspoon of porridge lol.

A tsp - come on!!!!!! I thought I was reading it incorrectly Mary but no! Although, strangely enough I have just had my lunch now, so I wasnt starving..wonder if the prunes are high GI? Must have a little look and see, maybe that is why I didnt feel hungry!

Yes, going great and just done a shop at MS for Saturday's guest..felt a little anxious, must confess but got through it and came back and had my lunch!

Will let you know later on what I am planning for them and for me! But, i am not missing out :) going to "jiggle" (Mary will recognise that wee word) my meals around on Saturday, stay within the 1200 cals, 5% fat rule, but try and ensure I dont pick when they are having their nice food!!!! :)

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: I actually laughed out loud to myself reading that Iris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahhahaa

Anyways ... today looks great. 1TSP! of porridge oats! And you were full?! lol
