Scotsmists Take on Life!!!!!! And everything else :-)

I do eat bacon, but when we are in Turkey, if our Turkish friend comes to visit us for a few days, I tend to refrain while he is there with us. Cant say I love the bacon in Turkey anyway, not a patch on ours. (Wow, is this my first criticism of Turkey) :8855:

I got offered a huge jar last year when I was there, but due to the weight restriction, I had to refuse -I was well gutted. Mind you, I do bring about 6 little jars home with me, but you are not supposed to bring honey into EU countries.

Iris, 6lb wow, thats fantastic, I am so pleased for you. Glad the night went well and well done you for not having a cake, they did sound delicious.

Good luck for the contact for the bee-keeping, that will be great if you can get it all sorted out.

The OH hates pigs...it is sooooo funny! But he gets it from his mum. I saw it when we went to a zoo (which I dont like incidentally)!!! and there was a pig there and her face and OH's sister! A PICTURE...never seen anything like it....they couldnt even look at it..it really was strange. And yet they are not into religion or practise, but I just think it is the way they have been brought up. He doesnt eat it cause he doesnt like the taste....not for anythinge else, but I just tend not to have it now, although he wouldnt bother and I wouldnt bother to eat it either..as I do like bacon butties! Criticism...no good Mary!!!!:8855::8855:

Yes, this guy that we know, it is his mother that brings it over and it is a lot!! Really dont know how they manage it..haha..

The OH has been reading up/on internet, etc ALL DAY...all about bees. He went to see the farmer who is giving us a piece of the land and who has some hives as well. We will get a new one but we need another old one as they tend to swarm the first season and the last thing you want is that to happen and you see £150 down the swanny!!!! So, if we have another hive, they will go to that instead...so, he has sorted that out. I do reckon he will have it now for his birthday next month :) Easy birthday pressie ..haha

YES, 6lbs - not bad, but I do reckon maybe another lb would have come off if it was that time, but it just means that maybe I will have more next week !! I have felt really, really hungry today, but I havent stopped...sat down to have our meal at 9pm and have been on the go all day!! So, maybe I just used up all my energy and just kept feeling hungry, but didnt cheat or go over my allowance at all :)

Well done honey ! <'scuse the pun !!! :)

You've been really focussed and determined this week and you sincerely deserve your reward !

I'm looking forward to joining you on RC after my hols !

C. xx

:D:D Thanks sweetie........I do think you will enjoy it..it is strict Caren, but it after LT, it is a walk in the park! Variety I think is the key as I try and eat something different most days, even brekkie! Just keeps the interest as I can imagine it could quite easily become quite boring.

Yes, not long now...hope this ash thing doesnt affect your flights!!! You have a few weeks so hopefully all will be fine by then.....hopefully.......

Flippin well done Iris! Fantastic result!!!!
Seems like the RC diet is really working well for you :)

:D still cant believe it AND eating as well!!! ahhaha..this is the bit that I still cant get my head around! Esp after LT....maybe I am getting my body back to normality again. I feel that actually and I dont look at carbs as though they are evil ;)

Well done for sticking to it despite feeling hungry!! I used to tell myself on 'diets' where I'd get hungry that it wasn't hunger I could feel - it was the fat burning away ... HaHa .... xx

Day 9
All going well still

BREKKIE
40gm fruit/fibre
1/2 mullerlight yog
mixed berries

LUNCH
We were in Chester so I had some sandwiches which were low fat and 299 cals, which is within my allowance, and 4% fat, so didnt stray from the strict 2 week plan.

DINNER
chicken stuffed with phili light/mushrooms and spinach
40gm spinach pasta
small salad

SNACKS
1 banana
bowl fruit salad

Did a 1 hr coreball session tonight and then 10 mins cycling and 20 mins fast walking :)

All in all, good day.

Fantastic day for you Iris, I know I keep saying it, but I cant get over how well you have adapted to the RC plan, I am so chuffed for you hun, really am.

Thanks Mary...I know, duck and water seem appropriate :)

Oh Mary, just reading westiegirl's diary and it just puts things into perspective...so young and full of life and now gone. How precious life is.

Day 10
Brekkie
30gm porridge
10 sultanas (had these around lunchtime)

Lunch
We were out today again, so had lunch out...stress or what, but I had

chicken wrap (plain) and within allowance

Snack
Apple

Dinner
whole sea bass cooked in dill with ribbon carrots and courgette
4 sticks of asparagus
1/2 Mullerlight yoghurt

I have a feeling I maybe under allowance today, but I am ok with it and dont really feel too hungry.

Today was D Day and went to see the counsellor about the ED! As expected, there is nothing really around as my bmi is not below 14!!! Only time the NHS will take notice it seems, well certainly the Peak District anyway. But, she did refer me to some place in Derby which is relating to ED and they meet once or twice a month and have email/phone/text support too. So,no further forward today but felt a little encouraged that at least I didnt go away empty handed again.

The referral form should arrive with the centre tomorrow/Thur and then they need to complete and then Derby centre will contact me direct. So, will keep you posted.

Did find it a little difficult today as we went for lunch afterwards and I could have had something really nice and naughty, but I just didnt see the point again......then we went to Chatsworth House and to the farm shop...oh, my word!! I love going there and the food is just amazing! Bought loads for the hubby, walnut bread, lovely cheeses, pastries, cheesecake, olives, oh so much that I just wont eat at the minute! Felt a wee bit down about it but then realised that it was only food at the end of the day and no point fretting as it is my choice to do this diet and I am happy!! So, I was able to talk myself out of anything silly!!!!!

So, back to work tomorrow, but all in all fairly good few days and still on track.

Oh, we went for a bike ride tonight, so I got my aerobic exercise in :)

Have 2 classes booked tomorrow, coreball and pilates, so at least I will be nice and busy tomorrow night!

Firstly Iris, what a step you took today! Thinking you actually dont need it and it is just food!!!!! :D :D :D

Glad your meeting went ok and you are getting somewhere atleast. I do think there needs to be more support for people like yourself.

I remember when i was at my biggest i went to the docs for help told them everything i ate etc and i was just fobbed off with diet pills. At the time i thought fab but it got me nowhere.

I hope it all works out for you sweetie, you are doing great :D xxx

Well done Iris on the loss, that's great! Sounds as though you are doing really well on this RC plan, keep up the good work, you're doing fantastically.

D DAY - Day 8 - WEIGH IN DAY!!

Here goes folks!!

Weighed in today and have lost 6lbs!!!, forgot to convert to the kg, etc...so this will do for now!!!!!!

I did weigh the other day and was around the same weight, but this was the day after I came on, so wanted to see if it would make a difference...so, not sure if it wasnt ToTM whether I would have lost maybe an extra pound, but dont care, this will come off!!! So, not bad for 7 days of eating healthily, 1200 cals in fact and lost 6 lbs.....so, should make that stone for the month, so have to lose average of 2.5 lbs over the next 3 weeks!!! FINGERS CROSSED.

Yesterday went brilliantly! Didnt stop from the minute I got up till when they arrived...was having a shower when the phoned to say they would be earlier!! YIKES!!!! But we managed...foodwise was great and I had what I said, but just had the merigue on its own with a coffee as I didnt want the fruit/yoghurt at this point.

Must admit I went to bed last night terribly hungry!!! I even woke up really hungry, but eventually fell asleep. I think the white rice (not basmati) that was in the meal doesnt help!! But all in all I was very pleased that I didnt even stray.

My friend brought cakes from "Slattery's",,,for those that dont know this is a famous Patissier and Choclatier!!!!!!!!!! I did tell her not to buy me one, which she didnt, but the others just looked amazing!! But, didnt touch..no point at this stage....

So, onto day 8

BREKKIE
125ml orange juice
1 x slice of wholemeal bread
1 TBSP strawberry jam

LUNCH
Will be having 200gm cottage cheese and salad

DINNER
Salmon baked in over with chilli sauce
100gm new pots
asparagus
1 TSP LF mayo

And POWER SNACKS will be fruit..might have some kiwi today and half an apple/orange :)

Will catch up later on with you all as I need to get out to the allotment and the garden and do some planting, etc before the Grand Prix!!!!!! BIG FAN YOU SEE, and with it being Monaco!

Hope you are all having a good day, and Jan, I have everything crossed for tomorrow for you and your flight !!!!!!!

Take care

That's an amazing loss by healthy eating, well done. I like this menu you had on day 8, gonna try that. Your doing really well.

Iris, its great to see you being so positive about the food. I definitely think the RC plan is so suitable for you, you seem like a different person, and its great to see you on here on a daily basis.

Well done, so proud of you.

Thanks Tanya.....I am so fed up being labelled as having an ED...it is like that thorn in my side - I just need to try and be pro-active and do something about it! Food is food, but I want to enjoy it and this is where I seem to be at now. I am loving what I am eating....really enjoying it and never feeling guilty or that something is naughty! So, hopefully I can build on this!! Famous last words, but I cant get negative, got to keep moving on and being positive Tanya! No where else to go really.

The NHS have to follow NICE guidlines and the woman I saw yesterday said she is so frustrated with the system and that a lot of the training is crap!! But what can they do! I am just so thankful that she at least gave me something to look at. Went onto their website today and it does look very promising as the founder has had an ED so at least she will understand !!!!

:D:D:D Thanks Mary! You guys have helped me too, because when I disappeared for a bit a wee email came through asking how I was doing! :) No escape..haha...

I just feel more relaxed and yes it is slower than TFR, but where I am at now is that I have to learn to appreciate and understand food....mind you, I kinda always knew that from coming of LT last year when I nearly got to goal, but I have had to go through this hard journey to where I am now! AND, in no way am I going to get cocky and think I am there, cause I am sure there will be more rocky roads ahead! But, I do feel and believe in my heart of hearts that I have made progress I really do!

Thanks for being proud for me! That meant a lot just reading that little sentence!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D

Day 11
Brekkie
4 turkey rashers
1 egg
5 mushrooms

YUMMY! Although, I must admit I quite fancied something different this morning, but knew I had to eat the remainder of the rashers as I hate to think food is being wasted....

Snack around 11am
half apple

1pm
half apple/2 kiwis and half orange

Lunch
3:30pm
Tuna salad with one tsp lf mayo

Had a bit of a topsy turvy day with food, but I am at the health club tonight for 2 hours and knew I wouldnt last if I had lunch at around 1pm..although never feel hungry at that time usually anyway.

So, feel quite satisifed and raring to go to my class at 6pm :)

TONIGHT
Oh, looking forward to this....
Count on Us Pizza - YES, PIZZA...360cals
Ham and Pineapple
YUM, YUM, YUM
Will have a nice salad with this too.

Cant believe I am on Day 11 :)

Mary, I weighed again!!!!!!!! SEEMS I AM DOING THIS EVERY 2 DAYS haha.....but will keep it a secret till Sunday, but lets just say looking good and that stone in the month should be well achieveable!

Not sure if I will get on tonight as I dont get home till around 9pm, then have to cook, etc.......

Brilliant news on the sneaky weigh in Iris, but Sssssh, keep it till Sunday.

I think my mind is make up and I will definitely buy this book for after the holidays, because I dont intend to do TFR again. The pizza has sold it to me.........lol.

Enjoy your exercising tonight. I might not get on myself tonight as I have a few things to do when I get home, so catch you tomorrow.
