Share your weekly shopping

Sorry about the old people! We get everywhere these days! :Na_Na_Na_Na::Na_Na_Na_Na::Na_Na_Na_Na:

If reports are to be believed, Lidl staff are not treated very well, so maybe that explains (but not excuses) the rudeness.

Kingleds - I think I know the branch you mean. Went there once, never again!

Personally I don't go as there is not much I like with the choices. Ot os pk if your strick as well but I tend to buy more crap then i should so perfer to just stick to one shop like Asda and plan my shopping which saves a small fortune as well. I also found fruit/veg fresher at supermarket and more choice with leaner meats.

Also, being on green is a lot cheap and more filling with the carbs when your preggos

My nearest lidl is a good 10-15 miles away. I will venture their one day, but only when I'm over that way I won't make a special trip. I tend to do my shopping online with Tesco (although I work at Asda and get 10& off?!) as I know exactly what I'm spending, don't impulse buy and I do actually hate walking round a supermarket.

Well done on your bargains though, you've definitely got some yummy meals out of it xxx

I'm the opposite. I enjoy my weekly trip to asda! I still know exactly what I am spending and don't impulse buy because I plan my shopping list in advance based on the meals I will be having that week. I go early on Sunday morning, it's dead quiet and I can zip around in no time then I have my weekly treat of a veggie breakfast in the cafe. Then i'm home for 10.30am.

I'm an online girl too! Usually spend about £90 for family of four but a third of that is on fruit, veg & fresh meat. I also go to local farm shop to get some of the meat. If I go into Tescos store I easily spend £130, yikes!!! So tend to stay away :) I do like lidl too and often pop in for their fish, beetroot (the best!) & their Lord Nelson peppermint tea is the best too.

Anyone else find their weekly shopping has at least 2/3 new spices or ingredients in it?? I heart SW :)

off to asda

cant wait lol got loads of ideas for recipes from off here
going to atempt the cheesecake thingy tonight with quark and alpen
going to get lots of chicken too lol

aww i love beetroot, im a bit addicted to that and baby pickled onions!
i get the odd bits in asda whilst i'm working but there's too many temptations i have to stick to £90 a week, and i can do this by online shopping. Unless i took a calculator with me (i know some do) i'd be way over guarenteed xx

I like Lidl and Aldi and at the moment, I love Iceland!!

tbh tho I prefer to shop online as I can keep within my weekly budget of £80 for 4 of us and a dog and that includes loads of fresh fruit (only tend to buy frozen veggies!)

Funily enough, if I did a weekly shop at Lidl or Aldi, I would spend far more than £80 and would still need to go to Tesco for other things!!

I do most of my shopping at Lidl and Aldi. Mostly Aldi these days, as I find they have a bigger selection. I've never had a problem with they fruit and veg, but then again we eat it very quickly here so it's never sitting around very long! I find them excellent value, it might take some trial and error to find things that you like, if you are used to buying 'branded' goods all the time.

I've never had a problem with rude staff either. I have four hungry men to feed (a husband and three boys who never seem to be full!), plus me, and we do a huge weekly weekly shop for around 110 euro. Which includes some meat, toiletries and nappies/wipes. :D Bargain.

I've tried them all but good ol' Asda gets me everytime.

Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl etc. a bit like visiting the girlfriend. But, in the end, it's always the wife you come back to.

Probably not the wisest analogy;)

Pmsl, maximus!

its funny, i think alot of it is down to what your used too. My mam always shopped in morrisons cos its our closest super market.. i know where everything is in there and i just *like* it.

admittedly i very almost cried the first time Joe forced me into Lidl- but im trying my hardest to ajust!

Wow Fern bargain!! I have to admit I never shop around. I've only ever shopped at Waitrose and like you I just *like* it lol. If I do shop elsewhere it's usually to farmers markets or a deli or speciality store. I also LOVE Borough market and of course Brixton market for my Afro foods :D

I went to Morrisons today and felt I'd got lots for my money. Tesco is right by me so usually I go there but I often like a change as well. This Morrisons was good as there was a variety of stuff that isn't in the usual Morrisons I go to because of the different area's and customer base I suppose and it may even have been cheaper because of that! I spent nearly £150.00 which is my weekly shop allowance but the trolley was flowing and as I wa going through the checkout I was thinking crap this is going to be in the £200 mark but was chuffed when it came in in budget!

I got our asda online shop today and was dead chuffed at the fruit and veg I got:

2 punnets strawberries £1 each
punnet raspberries £1
Large punnet blueberries £2
Sliced melon £1
Mixed peppers £1
Bunch asparagus £1
Large bag salad £1
Sugar snap peas £1
on top of that I got:

bunch bananas
2 tubs cherry tomatoes
4 baking potatoes
2 courgettes
Large packet Ham
12 medium eggs
4 Asda snack pots-couscous
4 frozen chicken breasts
12 toilet roll
2 small 400g loaves bread

All this came to £31.00! Quite good I thought :)
