Shazzabir CC Journey to 9st!

Everything sounds great Shaz. I wouldn't woeey about the cal intake if I was you. You clearly need the extra cals with all the hard work your doing. Think about what we always advise other people, "listen to your body", and thats exactly what your doing.

I think the practice run is a great idea. What is the date of the race? Are you running it for a charity? I'd love to sponsor you. :)

That's really Sweet of you Squeezy. Yes I am running for Wish upon a star.

I agree, don't worry about calories. You're putting a LOT of pressure on your body, I reckon you need them!

I am sooo tired and sore!!!! Think I need reminding why I am putting myself through this!!!
I did an 11 mile run this morning. Will be my last run before the race in 2 weeks. So will be nice to take it easy for a bit.
I have not weighed recently, so no idea what the scales are saying. I actually had chocolate today for medicinal purposes (my excuse). My sugar levels must have got really low when I finished the run, as I started feeling dizzy and faint. Hubbie stepped in with the maltesers and I was fine a few mins later! I guess I must really be pushing my body on these long runs. Pleased hubbie was with me, dread to think what would have happened otherwise!

Maybe that's something to remember for race day, to have something high sugar with you? Maybe those little glucose tablet things or a sports drink or something.

I cannot believe how hungry I have been the last 2 days!!! I know it's related to my run and shouldn't worry too much, but I feel really sluggish and bloated this morning. I have mostly eaten healthy food luckily, but there has been some chocolate too, which is quite unusual for me. It's really weird how that run has effected me??
Well today is a new day. I am hoping to do a run this morning, just 30 mins, so body shouldn't turn into pig mode, lol. My legs are still aching a bit, so will see how it goes, no point overdoing it this close to the race.
I did jump on the scales yesterday and luckily have STS, so pleased with that.
I am only doing a run today, 6 mile on Sun and then a 30 min run next wed. Then it will be the race. I know my cals will be over on the days I don't exercise and will most certainly be over on the days leading up to the race, but I'm ok with that. Oh yeah and my cals will def be over when I am in ultimate pig zone after the race!!! I dread to think how l am going to curb my appetite?????

Well if you've had a STS, I think it shows that you've been feeling hungry because you've needed the extra because of all the running so think it's a good thing that you've been eating. As long as you try to stick to mostly healthy stuff, you should be fine. Good luck with the race! When is it?

The run is a week on Sunday (11th Mar), so not long to go.

I did a 5k run yesterday, then had to dash out to a family emergency. Ended up going all day without food, then eating fish & chips when I got home late last night! Not ideal, but it wasn't a normal day. Everything ok now though. Had forgotten how nice fish and chips are :)

Ooh good luck with your run! You'll do fantastic! And fish and chips are yum. But I can't eat them as often as I used to I realised lol. Too greasy!

In a few hours I will be on my way to Silverstone. Nerves are creeping in now. I cannot believe I will be running 13 miles 2moro, it was just over a year ago when I first started C25K, unable to run more than 60 seconds. How the body can adapt, pretty amazing really.

Well my week has been pretty awful. I have been fighting off a cold all week and got shin splints from my last run. I have everything crossed that the shin splits don't screw my race up. I have rested as much as possible and massaged each day. They have now eased a lot, but won't know what will happen until I run.
Food wise I have been comfort eating and also increasing my carb intake. So not going anywhere near the scales!! Will sort that problem after my race.
Hope everyone is doing ok, will be back to normal next week, well almost, it's my birthday on Wednesday. So hopefully will be able to catch up with everyone's diarys :)

Have an good race! Got my fingers crossed for you x

Good luck today!

You are such an inspiration! I'v always wanted to be a runner but the many times iv tried Iv been awful and thought I was destined never to run...your experience shows me differently I see!

Good luck and be proud of yourself :) x

Just popping in quickly to say GOOD LUCH SHAZ!!!!!!!!

Hope it went well? xxx

Thanks guys!!

I am soo tired and hurt everywhere, but very proud I did it! Official time is 2hr 22 mins, so very pleased.

Floss: I hated running and struggled to run for 1 minute. A year later I run a half marathon. Quite amazing for me. Go for it!!!!

My family want me to run a half marathon in 6 weeks. It is our local home town run. I would like to do it, but it was soo hard today, not sure I want to go through it again do soon!!!

Wow brilliant!! Do it if you feel up to it :)
