Shazzabir CC Journey to 9st!

Aren't they amazing?! I wouldn't be able to run 2 miles let alone 26!!! How do they look so at ease, and then some of them do a little interview. Wow!

It is a rest day today, so food will be hard, especially as the munchies are bound to kick in after yesterday's run!!!

My exercise plan for the week is:
Mon - Rest
Tues - HIIT training
Wed - 6 mile run
Thu - Rest
Fri - HIIT training
Sat - 6 mile run
Sun - Rest

I need to reduce my runs now, so I am fresh for the race. :)

Could you save a couple of hundred calories from a run day for your rest day? Calories don't really know the time and so I'm sure you could carry them over to the next day, maybe worth a thought so you can refuel the day after your run a little?

Yeah. Or i eat lots of low cal stuff when im feeling hungry like that. Then it feels like I've eaten loads but its all low cal so not that many calories

Your exercise plan looks good hun. I would consider doing what Caroline suggested. Maybe try it for a week and see how your body reacts. :)

Yes I think that would be a good idea to carry some of the cals over. Will look at how I do that.

Must update you on O/H. He got weighed this morning........he has now lost a staggering 19lbs!!!!! You can tell as well, his bloated stomach has just disappeared. Needless to say he is a very happy man. The main change in his diet is avoiding salt and eating lots of fruit. I am so proud of him for sticking to this. His blood pressure is also looking normal again. So win win all round!!

I am up at silly o'clock so I can exercise. I am going to do HIIT, but just on the bike and x-trainer. That way I really am using different muscles to the ones used whilst running.

Morning Shazz, thats great about OH, well done to him. Hope you enjoyed your HIIT session (I still haven't Googled it!) have a good day xx

Thats brilliant to hear hun!

Wow! That is amazing shaz. Well done to you both. All your effort and had work has paid off. X

19lbs?! I bloody hate men sometimes!! That's really an amazing loss, well done Mr Shazz!

Today is my day off...!!!!! :)
Plans for today will be a 5-6 mile run, followed by cleaning, washing and ironing.

I have started listening to Jillian Michael's podcasts. They are really informative as well as quite funny. I am picking up quite a few tips though and makes a change from music.

I looked up why Mr Shazz might have lost so much weight, just in case it was not normal. Apparantly giving him tons of fruit and veg on top of him giving up salt, has kind of fast tracked his weight loss further. Something to do with the potassium in the fruit and veg rids the body of further salt, so results in a higher weight loss. Hope that makes sense!

Ooh that sounds interesting. Obviously a drastically different change for him, which is why it was a nice big loss. Just imagine, I'd be at goal in less than 3 weeks if I got that every week! I might have a look into those podcasts. Enjoy your day off!

Yes planning a treadmill run Claire, just waiting for my daughter to take her nap. Hope it's not too long, I'm starting to think about lunch already!!!

One thing I learnt from the JM podcasts today, was the calorie deficit after exercise. She recommends no more than a 700 cal deficit a day, ideally no more than 500, but 700 ok. 1000 deficit is a big no no and can lead to weight plateau. If you have a big deficit you need to reduce the cals burning.

I have decided weigh day will be 2moro instead of Friday, might be able to trick my body into a loss then! Well that's the theory :)

Thats interesting about the cal defecit. Might look into that a bit further.

Also interesting about Mr Shaz too, I do think men find it slightly easier though. Maybe not in all cases, but my ex decided to loose weight with me once and he lost about 3 stone in 2 months!!! Very frustrating.

Enjoy your run :)

Hope the run went well hun

Yesterday's run was fine, I managed to squeeze 6 miles in. I was tempted to do a short run this morning, but thought better off it. Too close to race day to change my routine, so did 30 mins on the bike instead. Was a lousy burn, 150 cals!! Still better than nothing.
I jumped on the scales and my gain has gone, so back to 5lb to goal weight again :)

Got some info thru from the team organising my race next w/e, they have announced nobody can wear headphones / iPods. I'm really not happy about this, as I have never run without music before and the thought of running over 2hrs without entertainment really worries me!!

Morning Shazz, glad yesterday's run went well. Don't you ever realise you've not been listening to your music while running? Running is a meditative state, you'll be fine. When I first starting running with Bayley I didn't have earphones in and didn't really notice. Have a good day xx

What's their reasoning for saying no headphones/ipod?

That seems a bit odd. Any idea why?

So pleased the gain has gone. Wow only 5 lbs to go. We'll need to organise a party! X
