Shazzabir CC Journey to 9st!

Thats strange. Im sure you'll be fine though. You've been doing it long enough :)

Think it is to do with health and safety, so you can hear instructions from the marshalls???

Oh well not much I can do about it. Think I am more concerned about this miserable weather!!!!

Yes party sounds good Squeezy!! I have a feeling I may just get to goal this time, my mindset is much more focused. I WILL do it this time!!

By the way JM podcast tip today: Avoid fruit juices and smoothies at all costs, the sugar content alone makes them worse than fizzy pop! Which also is a big no no!

Well in that case, one headphone in, one headphone out, sorted! :D

Yeah, i always avoid juices unless i have extra calories and im not hungry. Too many calories in that little drink. Rather eat a piece of fruit.

Yes it's Friday!!!!!!
I had a really good sleep last night, so feeling really refreshed.
Having a rest day today, so no exercise. No doubt I will go over my cals as I'm having wine tonight, but it is my weekly treat :)
Yesterday I signed O/H up on MFP. He was amazed how many cals he was eating and was pretty gutted he went over by 190! He didnt have much choice though as he was parked overnight at the motorway services, so food options were limited (HGV driver). What is more amazing is he is going on the cross trainer to earn more cals today, to make sure he doesn't go over. Hope he doesn't stop me drinking my wine or makes me exercise when he sees my day, lol. This is a fantastic step for him and I am really proud of him for it.

Now I am feeling guilty that O/H is making an effort to stay within cals, so it's only fair that I do. Therefore I need to burn 220 cals to have everything planned for today, including half a bottle of wine. Kick my butt if I don't please!!!

So you should be, I'm proud of him too! Sounds like he's doing really well and really taking control of his life, it's great.

Morning Shazz, that's brilliant news. Don't forget you need rest days though, especially this close to race day. I'm sure your OH won't mind you not making up that 220 cals. Have a good day xx

It's great when you have a bit of healthy competition. He is really taking this all in his stride and kicking serious calorie counting butt!!!

Get some exercise done Shaz, you need to stay within cals!! :)

Well after checking my running schedule I was down for a 3 mile run, not a rest day. My rest day was meant to be Thursday! Not sure how I got that mixed up!
Anyway long story short, I did a 3 mile run when I got home, so solved the calorie problem as well.
About to sit down and enjoy a nice glass of wine.
O/H now showing off how many cals he has left, lol

Today is my MIL's retirement party. We are holding it at our house. Unfortunately we do not have any control over the food, which makes me nervous. All I know is she will be buying lots of party food from Iceland. Think I will ensure there are also baked potatoes and salad.
I won't be exercising today, as it is a rest day today (have double checked!) so calories will be low :-(
I may get chance for a walk later, so may boost me up a little. As I'm running 2moro I wont be drinking tonight, so at least I won't have those cals to take into account.
O/H already planned to cut the grass today, so he will get an extra 350 cals for that!!! He is also going to go on the x-trainer if he can for 15 mins, so that will get him another 200 cals!!

I'd say offer to do those jobs yourself but sounds like too much effort to me! Hopefully today won't be too bad food wise, like you said can always make sure there's baked potato and salad, even if just for you. Hope you have a lovely day.

Enjoy the party :)

Yeah, you can make sure you get plenty of salad and maybe a jacket spud. I know they do chicken breast bites in the party food section at iceland and they are not bad for calories. To be honest most things are bite size, so if you don't pile your plate high (which you won't) then it shouldn't be too bad.

Enjoy hun :)

My will power was seriously tested at the party, but unfortunately I failed! The mistake was agreeing to a glass of wine. Before long the temptation of very unhealthy food got the better of me. The only healthy food there was the baked potato, salad and salmon we provided. So I was a little bit annoyed looking at all the really bad stuff, especially as O/H is only just starting to diet. The table was full of pasties, pies, cakes, cheeses, scotch eggs etc. which I did avoid, but pâté and fresh bread and breaded king prawns were consumed! Oh well the damage is now done and I have a headache to go with it. Yes the rest of the bottle of wine went, although it was very nice wine!!
So back to running the day after drinking, which I am most annoyed about. Luckily it is only a short run today, but it will be two w/e's on the trot I have drank alcohol before a run. Really need to stop this. Anyway I will not be drinking now until after the race.
Ok rant over, still feel annoyed, but I will have a healthy day today and WILL go for a run later.

That doesn't sound TOO bad anyway, don't worry about it hun. No point beating yourself up about it!

Yeah it's done now hun, although from what you said it doesn't sound too bad. I drank a bottle of wine last night, was only supposed to have 1 glass but it ended up being 1 bottle!! If it makes you feel any better I would have given in to soft white bread and pate. I'm salivating just thinking about it! You're only human!
Just make sure you drink plenty of water today ready for tomorrows run.

I did 4 miles on the treadmill yesterday, was meant to be going outside, but running in the rain just didnt do it for me!
My sister and family came over for tea last night, this is normally when the pizza gets ordered!! However this week we cooked tikka masala and baked potato instead. Much much better than pizza. We did look at making our own pizza, but the calories were still quite high, so decided on a curry instead. O/H stayed within his cals too, so a good day for us :)
I have changed MFP to maintenance today for the week. I didn't want to be disheartened with the lack of exercise and carb loading that will be going in preparation for Sundays race. Amazingly I get 1680 cals on maintenance, but have reduced it to 1400. Will change it back again next Monday.
