Shazzabir CC Journey to 9st!

Hi I have read your diary for a while and have just started jogging/ running at the gym have been managing 3k in 20 mins I would like to work up to 5k and wondered what is a good time for this, I am asking because I am thinking of entering a five k race for life and don't want to be last lol , and I know you are such a good runner and have completed some Hugh achievements so my help would be greatly appreciated

dd82 - that's a good time for 3k. You will probably be looking at 33.5 mins for a 5k, which is a really good time. I understand your fear of coming last, I still have that fear!!! You will be fine at your pace though and there will always be new runners and walkers behind you anyway. When is the race?

Well I'm all set for my weigh in 2moro. I have had a good day and even squeezed a 3 mile run in (last chance workout, lol).
At the end of the day if I don't get to goal 2moro, then I will be disappointed, but I know it will happen soon.
I will be having a glass or two of wine 2moro night, however the thought of having pizza actually turns my stomach..........OMG, did I really say that!!!!!! Wow !!

So exciting! You will deserve that wine shaz, you have worked so hard to get to goal. All the ups and downs, the hard slog, it will finally all be worth it. Xxx

I have done it!!!!! Finally at my goal weight!!!!!!!!
Officially 8st 10.5lb!!!!!!!!!
An amazing feeling. :)
It has taken so long to get here, but I know I have learnt so much along the way. Perhaps if I had stuck to my original 9st goal I would have been celebrating 6mths ago, but I was in between sizes, so knew I had to dig a bit deeper to be a comfortable size 8.
I could not have got close to this without the support and encouragement I get on here. Thank you all so much! :)
Running is my biggest achievement on this journey. I never would have thought I would take to it, let alone get obsessed with it. At times it has halted but weight loss, but the feeling of running half a marathon is pretty amazing and makes it all worth while.
I used to be scared of maintenance, undoing all the hard work, but now I have the confidence to adapt and stay strong. I have no intention of losing anymore weight, I have achieved what I finally set out to do.........finally closure!!!!! :)

New chapter, small bottle of champagne, here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow wow wow wow wow!!!! Well done Shaz! What an amazing achievment. Enjoy your celebration today. xxxx

What are your plans now you are a maintainer? :) :)

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments :)

I am still smiling!! Loving the fact that I get an extra 400 cals a day for maintaining.
Think my focus needs to move back to running. I haven't done a really long run for a while, probably since I focused more on getting to goal.

I wish it was time for my champagne though!!!! Although I will probably be drunk on one glass, as I haven't had any alcohol for nearly 2 weeks!!

Well done that is amazing you have been an inspiration to read you running and your losing diary well done you x

So so close, so so exciting!!

Lol, love that Squeezy!!!

I have come back down to earth now and on our way to Blackpool. As sad as I am, I have packed my kettlebell and kettleworx and all my running things!!! Oh and several bottles of low cal wine!!!
I have no intention of coming back from hols putting several lbs on, so everything will be in moderation.
That said it is a holiday, so will be enjoying some nice family time too.

I did 4.5 miles this morning, it was a great run, managed it in 40 mins!!!!! I didn't struggle with the pace either, so know I can push myself a bit more now.
I have the London 10k on 8th July, and really want to do it under 60 mins, so need to focus on upping my speed.

Having great holiday, the weather has been really good too.
Not managed a run or a kettlebell workout yet, so will probably have to wait until I get home.

I am drinking too much wine, eating two many bowls of chips and even had chocolate.....my body is getting ready for a detox!!!!!
We leave tomorrow, so will be making the best of today, then a very strict Bob Harper week to get me back on track. I will have put several lbs on, but I know I will lose it very quickly. It's rare that I enjoy myself like this, after all that's what holidays are for :)

It's exactly what holidays are for, plus you are celabrating Shaz. Getting to goal is such a massive achievment, it's not something you do everyday. Have a fab rest of the week and don't even worry about any damage you might do. You deserve to relax. :) xxx
