Sian's 2015 restart - time to shift the weight once and for all!

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D

Soup ?

Well done on your brill loss too xx

Soup's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I've just eaten my lunch of weetabix and banana, which was soft enough not to be problematic.

I've also just tried scan bran cake for the first time...very nice, but I'm stuffed now! I guess that may have something to do with not eating since Wednesday evening though! Xx

Make sure you drink loads of water too.

It's really full of fibre and can not move through too well if you get my drift! x

Sorry to hear you've not been well Sian, but 'woohoo' on the loss! Every cloud and all that...!

I made some lovely tomato soup this week - just loads of tomatoes (about 15), basil, garlic and veg stock. Roasted the tomatoes first with a couple of cloves of garlic, then put in the soupmaker with the stock and basil and let it work its magic! It was yummy and full of superfree!

Morning.... How you feeling today hun?? Xxx

Hiya hun! My throat's still quite sore, but other than that I'm feeling a lot better! Now that I have the ingredients for a chocolate orange scan bran cake I feel even better! :D:D Wooo! xxx

Re: Sian's restart diary - third time lucky! :-D

I've popped over to mrstore's diary for the recipe, so here you go hun

5 scanbran soak hot water, drain & mash
3 eggs
3 tbls cocoa (or 1 cocoa & 1 serving of choc orange options)
7 tbsp sweetener
tspn ish orange extract (I got this from sainsbos in the baking bit, £3.50 but it has no oil in like the orange essence does in the smaller generic flavour bottles so from what I can see its syn free??)

mix it all together (like any other scan bran cake) and pour in a silicone loaf tin. nuke in the microwave for about 4 to 4.5 mins.

I got some lemon flavour quark from sainsbos too (but plain would be just as good) added sweetener & some more orange extract

3 syns for the whole cake if using scanbran as HEXB, 8 syns for the lot if not :)

Cheers m'dear! Any tips are always welcome. I do try not to have too much bread, particularly when I'm in work, although I do tend to find myself craving it at a weekend. I've never been good with leafy greens (as my mother would testify!) but I'll try to up my intake :)

I must be feeling better...I'm actually having a productive day! So far I've taken a couple of bin bags of stuff to the tip, done my food shopping, put my washing away, had lunch, made a big batch of chicken, chorizo and potato stew to freeze and now I'm about to sit down and sort all my paperwork out from this year ready for the summer. Go me! :D
