Skidding towards fifty!!

Morning everyone... Decided not to just crash and burn last night after a long day and a lot of driving so I went to the gym. Got there just before 9 and stayed til it closed at 10. Managed a mix of cycling, treadmill walking uphill and rowing and clocked up 11.5km. Just have to keep it up now but feeling proud

Pix, you're challenging yourself, getting well out of your comfort zone. That takes courage. You get my recognition for that. Entering into an environment , like a gymn, when confidence is low shows that you have that courage and more importantly a strong desire to achieve something. Remember, a load of the other people in there may have started on their journey some years or months ago and have some visible results for their efforts. visible results usually show in 3 months continuous effort. It usually takes about 12 weeks for very noticeable changes. By then, after 3 months, going to the gymn will be a normal routine for you. Stick with it, don't obsess over it, make it part of a lifestyle change. chip away at it, you'll see progress.

Just read that you have long commute, is it by train? I also have a long commute. I take a banana guard for my nana in my rucksack if I need a nibble in the way in on the train. Apples are good snack. If need something more substantial I sometimes take a pot with a couple of M&S jumbo chicken drumsticks to see me through. I seem to cycle better if I have a bit more protein. A no added sugar drink is also in my drinks bottle.

Hi Quins, Thanks for your encouragement! Unfortunately I have to drive to work as I need to be mobile when I'm there and our office base is 50 miles from home, yesterday I was visiting a service a bit further away from that. I do know that especially the home commute is a danger zone for bad snacking. Roast chicken is one I've tried this week..did seem to work well. I'm cycling in the gym at the mo as I have a neuro problem that affects my balance ( and other stuff) , especially if I have to look behind me. So I'm a bit safer than on the road currently, though a cycle trail might work too where I'm not negotiating cars/junctions etc.

4lbs lost .... Not bad for first week I guess? Need to try and stay on plan next week, eating enough was the problem this week! Thanks for everyone's encouragement across the boards X

That's a tough commute , driving. Only joshing about getting you on the roads, you stock with what you're doing, it fits you're routine and will work anyway.

Brilliant loss!

Thanks! I'd prefer to be outside, but not with gravel rash lol ....I'll get there :)

Off to Sheffield today for stepsons birthday lunch. Have checked the menu and chosen best option ( cod loin with bacon and fresh veg ) .. Will just need a word with them to cook them with no sauce/butter. Will save syns for a glass of wine or dessert if there's something light

Have a good day everyone x

Sounds lovely! Hope you're having a lovely day x

Hi everyone - where did the weekend go? I chose sea bass and fresh veg when out on Saturday and synned a scoop of ice cream.

Work has been tough today so I've completely forgotten about Sunday already though I know I was on plan.

Food wise been not to plan today as was too tired and upset to eat when I got home. Did have egg and yoghurt for breakfast and rice salad with peppers peas and radishes with cold meat for lunch followed by nectarine

Glad you enjoyed your weekend. Sorry to hear work was horrible again. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you x

Where do the days go ... It's been a rubbish week but I've lost 2lbs and spent the last two days on a very active training course at work so my body magic time is well up!

Hope you're all ok xx
