Skulldilocks Food diary

For the quinoa, I have a tip if you're planning in advance to have it tomorrow. As soon as you get home (or if you're at home now) put the quinoa in a bowl of cold water and put it beside the sink. Everytime you go near the sink to wash something or fill the kettle etc... rinse it out in a sieve for a minute then pop back in the bowl of cold water. Keep doing this until you're ready to cook it. Even though you only need to vigorously rinse for a few minutes, I find that this way makes such a difference and gives really fluffy quinoa xx

Thanks hun! I wont be home now til 6 (if that with the silly trains!) but will still definitely do this! I could taste the earthy-ness of them this morning and knew it was the cleaning situation haha! I still have faith! x

I'm desperately trying not to put pressure on myself for Wednesday but I know deep down I want like 4lbs off or I'll be gutted. Its so silly. Going to write down NSVs for this week so far to make me realise how in control I've been and that I should be proud of that alone:

-Walking to and from work (1.5 miles each way) instead of getting the bus
-Going to the shop at work and buying free foods instead of giant chocolate bars
- Going on two nights out and not touching a sip of alcohol
- Taking food up to London, so not to be tempted by food out and about.
- Going to bed whilst everyone else ate pizza drunkenly
- Making an on plan choice for breakfast despite being offered several slices of leftover pizza.
- Getting compliments in my Halloween outfit
- Getting stressed and stranded by the storm affecting trains and not going to grab a pastry and hot choc. Instead a tea with skimmed milk.
- Not going over my syns on any days

Long may it prosper!

Don't put too much pressure on yourself lovely. You've done good this week and think how great you've felt doing it. What will be will be - fingers crossed xx

Wow, that's a lot of NSVs for one week! You're doing great hun. Hope the scales reward you as you deserve, but if you get a smaller loss please try not to be too disheartened (easier said than done I know). There's loads of factors that affect weight on one particular time, such as hormones / water retention. If you keep up the way you've been going you WILL see great losses, it's just sometimes it doesn't happen immediately. Having said that, sending lots of positive thoughts of a 4lb loss your way!

X

Love the idea of the beef mug shot! I wish the selection of flavours over here wasn't so boring! x

Ha, I went mental about them! When I saw the new flavours in the magazine when they were first launched, I went round all the supermarkets in Reading, even checked when I was on my travels round London and to no avail!
When they finally did them in my local Tescos I genuinely screamed in the isle and embarrassed my boyfriend hahaha! They are a bit here and there with being in stock but they're on offer at the mo so I stock up :p I love the peri peri ones too :D

Lovely food day!! Pity about the choc quinoa - just wasn't for you! x

Lol thanks. I know, I should've probably tried it savoury first or something. I think I'm just not cooking it right but its fine was worth a try! hehe.

I'm contemplating going and grabbing a jacket for lunch instead as I'm so cold and starving. If I have that instead of my mugshot, do you think it will be too many carbs? :/

No... do it. It will be yummy and warm AND FILLING so you'll not be tempted to snack.

You should try and stop thinking like that... I know it's easier said than done but carbs aren't bad - it's an unhealthy attitude. They help us stay full up and curb our cravings. If you're really conscious, ask for the smallest one. You're also eating the crispy skin which is really good for you and FULL of fibre - you don't get that with just protein ;) xx

Thanks hun, I know its so silly to think like this, I never used to, but I think since doing red days a lot it made me more conscious! I'm going to get one for sure :D Plus, its porbably far better for you than a mugshot as its free food not just synfree like the processed pasta.

I have been keeping my portions from going to mad and hopefully this week can prove to me how much I can eat and still lose weight, just like my first week :) X

We've got those Maryland triple choc gooey cookies in the office. Going to have ONE and stop there. They're 4 syns which is mad but hopefully it'll be worth it. I've been wanting to try them for ages x

Ooh, I've been wanting to try those too but daren't buy a packet as they could be very dangerous!! Enjoy :) xx

I've had the gooey biscuits before I don't think they're worth 4 syns either!

Pleased you you had the jacket, it's what you fancied! And you're right, it is better for you than the processed crap mugshot. Xx
