Could that be partly my fault? Hi Puggso - looking good in the kilt (I won't ask the obvious question!) They wear kilts in Kernow (Cornwall) too. There are two main Cornish (or Kernewic) Tartans and a few others besides - the usual one, The Cornish National Tartan is a yellow base and the other (Hunting Tartan) is the same colours on a green background. All the coloured lines mean something significant, St Pirans flag, the chough etc. x

Hey Puggso!!!! Behave!!!!! There's nothing wrong with Morris Dancing - you have to be REALLY fit to do that. Friends of mine do Appalacian Dancing and it's one heck of a work-out. Some of the English Morris Dance traditions are really high stepping and there are lots of sport injuries associated with them.

Scottish dancing is skillful and quite punishing too isn't it?

I'm with puggso on this one. The only true English sport is Rugby, Cricket is a close second, as we learned from tne the Bible, The Hitchiekers Guide to the GALAXY.

Ah... someone else who has never really looked at Morris Dancing properly. I used to laugh too - until I went to a couple of Folk Festivals and found out how skillful and athletic some of it was - I know someone who is pushing 70 and is still dancing (Appalacian). She hasn't aged for years!!!
