Sophie's Slimming World and Cinema critiques!

I blend wholemeal rolls with a couple of red chillies and some Thyme for my breadcrumbs :) I don't buy wholemeal bread, only rolls, but probably would be the same. I then use the blender to chop onions really finely which I sauté then mix in with the turkey and breadcrumbs. *licks lips* so yum! Turkey meatballs are my second fave meal now (after Potato Pancakes :D)

WI today= +2!! OOPS! I hope that's still because of *week and flight bloating *gulp* can't have been from the houmus..!? lol! Was a bit shocked by that but I recon it's still my period fluid retention not fully evened out, usually takes 3 days, so will try to ignore it :|
Got a bit stressed earlier when I realised what's in store for me this weekend syns wise :/ going to Ask Italian tomorrow with Gerard's family (looked at menu and looks like I'll have to have something pretty crap to keep it low syn :( all the salads have avocado and fried chicken and stuff as well as the dressing and croutons, so even they look pretty high syn!) then Fathers day posh pub lunch on Sunday (they have a minimal menu of like 3 options, usual roasts) and Saturday is my best friend's 21st birthday where people group in her garden every year and get plastered! So... Ugh! It is going to be a struggle to keep low syn *sigh*! But Sat drinking is my priority, I'll go for as low as possible options for both the meals out I think.

Red day today:
____

B- FF yog, banana, blueberries, kiwi, splenda

L- Subway salad with cheese (HexA1) melted on roast chicken and 1.5 servings of Sweet Onion sauce (34cal per serving =2.5 syns)

D- Turkey meatballs (HexB1 + 2 for wholemeal breadcrumbs and ex-v-olive oil) on a bed of salad with onions within them too. Used some milk to make a sauce with stock cube and sprinkled a bit of cheese too to make up HexA2

Snacks- loaaads of berries! Nearly a whole punnet of raspberries and 3/4 a large punnet of strawberries! That subway salad didn't fill me up lol! Also 2 active 0% yoghurts, 2 cubes of cheap milk chocolate (2 syns~), minimilk (1.5)

Drinks- 3L NAS squash, 1 green tea

Syns: 6

Nervous about this +2 followed by a synful weekend. Really want to be in the 'overweight' BMI by Florida which means 9lbs in just over a month (11 if you count the +2 but I expect that to miraculously disappear ASAP), not looking good! And following this weekend- off to Sweden on Tuesday. Will be cooking for myself for the most part but won't be as easy to know what is synful and not in terms of differently branded foods and such... Will bring a few bits with me I guess.

So yeah, 9lbs by July 15th... Hmm. I wish I could have started SW last summer and been slim by Florida! Aw well.

A music video project I was supposed to be shooting today and tomorrow fell through last minute- client d*cked me around with loads of pre-production meetings and we were all set up to go when they decided to 'postpone' with 1.5 days notice, and now are saying they're going to shoot it themselves because I'm too expensive :S WHAT? SO. ANGRY.
Also infuriated because the singer was like "I want it to be really REALLY like, full out with this, and we just haven't had time to do that..." when it was their time restraints that were making us shoot it now :S and so she thinks by shooting it with her friends it's going to be more 'full out'... Camera phone quality? Lol... Ridiculous and insulting, really. She was SO thick in the meetings though that I think the video will end up awful now. Not that the song was any good. *sigh* enough b*tching. Though it's all true :p

Welcome back mate :D Sounds like you actually had a really good time away this time? Sorry about your 2lb loss, but I agree with you that it will probably vanish fairly quickly. And try not to stress too much about this weekend or you'll be miserable and not enjoy any of it.
You have to live as well as do SW. And you're doing SO well :D Really think any gains will bugger off pretty quickly.

Now, go enjoy your weekend :D

Oh and btw, the lower your heart rate when exercising the better. But that only comes with time and fitness :) xx

Lower heart rate is better? huh! Good to know :p
On Biggest Loser they had a challenge to use the bicycles and keep their heart rate above 80% (whoever kept it so the longest, won- and it lasted hours!) so I assumed high was good.

Yeah, it will come off fast yada yada but I'm intent on reaching my 'overweight BMI' goal by Florida :D

MASSIVE SCHOOL BOY ERROR TODAY!!

We didn't go to Ask, we went to a thai place and I went for this:
Singapore Curry Laksa (Singapore)*** £9

Coconut milk infused broth cooked in traditional straits spices with prawn and chicken served with noodles

OMG! Had NO idea there were so many syns in coconut milk!! Apparently it is like 39 syns for a can!? WHAT?! Well, this huge dish was like 60% liquid and tasted very coconutty, so I'm scared shitless than there may have been 3 cans worth in there! I actually called the restaurant to ask how much they put it- the chef said they can't tell me in tins as they get huge tins, but the broth was about 60% coconut milk and 40% water/spices etc. Then he went on to say "about 100ml" which is surely bullshit as there was probably 600ml of creamy liquid in the bowl. *cries* I left about 1/3rd of the liquid but still... sigh. Haven't done well for saving syns for drinkies tomorrow at my friend's bday.

Anyway, I've learnt my lesson. Will call it 20 syns + HexB for oil.

The day with G's mum/sister/baby niece really dragged on. I find it hard to converse with them because his sister in particular is so concrete/S type/materialistic and we just don't gel well. The baby was somewhat ill and thus unhappy throughout, and I left with a nasty headache. Gerard had said he'd wanted to leave too- he didn't pick up on my obvious signals though!? I told him he really REALLY needs to be more receptive when I'm trying to nudge him for us to leave. It's like he switches off his otherwise very in tune emotional connection with me, lol.

EE:
____

B: Banana, raspberries, blueberries, nat ff yog, splenda

L: Death-soup of syns. (20)

D: Leftover mexican rice attempt with various beans, passata and HexA cheese; asparagus on the side.

Snacks: Small milkyway bar :( (5 syns), fruit medley from Sainsbury's, 3rd of a 100cal hobnob (1.5)

Syns: 26.5 :'(

I really REALLY want to get wasted tomorrow night and I'm going to have a flexi syns day and just have a good time. Every year my friend does this garden party and it is like my fave night of the year, so I'm not going to do it sober. Hopefully if I don't have dinner I'll get drunk nice and quick :p last time I think I consumed about 40 syns worth of vodka to get nice and drunk, so will be bringing my little double shot bottles (nabbed from flights!) to have a measurement allowance, so I know what i'm drinking rather than just pouring it in from a big bottle when tipsy! So 40 syns is about ten shots worth! Nice. I'm going to flexi 40 syns.

OKOK. I just text my stepmother saying we can't make the fathers day dinner. I know that's a bit sad but there is so much going on and we'd only be there really quick for the meal and I don't need the syns and sterss. Mum is driving 3 hours to come over that day and pick our cat up so I don't want to rush that either. That means we can relax through our hangover and I can have a low syn day before going away to make up for it... Which means if I have 0 syns apart from the drinks tomorrow, I'll have 30 syns worth of vodka accounted for for weekend syns. *panting* phew. Ok. Calms me a bit. Today's excess syns are accounted for from yesterday; it's just Dubai syns that haven't been recovered. Has felt difficult getting back on plan after Dubai actually, like my body still expects the treats :/

*sigh* neurotic post, soz! x

When exercising a faster heart rate Is good for burning fat, 120+your age is a rough guide of "max" heart rate so you can work out what 80% would be like on biggest loser.
Generally super fit people like athletes have very low resting heart rate so when they exercise it doesn't speed up to the same rates as people of normal fitness levels/unfit people. That said there are medications used in the treatment of heart disease which slow the heart down a lot so you can be unfit, with heart disease and have similar pulse to an Olympic athlete!!

Hmm! Interesting...

The bike I was on had a heart rate guide and it said for my age rane (20-25) that 160 was 80%... Maybe it measured differently, was Dubai not london, maybe it was some strange metering mode.
Great to know though, ta! :D

Yeah you want a higher heart rate than resting, but not so high it's dangerous!! You don't want to put too much of a strain on your heart. The idea is that a constand 'higher' heart rate burns more calories, but you do have to be careful. Don't like go nuts and go for the highest you can lol.

Sounds like a good plan for tomorrow, so you're not so stressed. You can see your Dad another time :)

Eeek about the coconut milk. I knew it was high, but bloody hell! But, it's done now and there's bugger all you can do about it. And lesson learned. Don't stress yourself out! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and then get back to it. Onwards and downwards and all that crap ;) xx

Funnily though I wasn't finding it that hard (the exercise on the bike)! I felt like I could have kept going for ages but I was bored  lol. Good to know though, thanks!

Yeah, forgot all about that stuff, had about 45 syns worth of booze last night and got plastered! Had a great time though :D will grin and bear the scales tomorrow :/ not looking forward to that!

Yesterday food: Red
_____
B- Fruit & yog
L- Turkey burgers (2x HexB, 2x HexA) with ketchup (1), bacon (fat removed), tomatoes and salad.
D- VODKAAAA (45~ syns) I measured out 200ml x2 which I put into a litre bottle each diluted with diet lemonade and squash. Got plastered and had a great time, and that way I knew my syns and wasn't helping myself to unknown quantities, so worked out quite well.
_____

Food today: EE
_____
B (noon) -Epic hangover brunch: Bacon (fat removed), scrambled eggs, spaghetti hoops, fried onions and lots of cherry tomatoes. NOM. +1 for ketchup
L/D- went shopping and came home starving at 6pm. Had a big potato pancake (potato, eggs, onion, carrot, HexB Olive oil) with pasta and cheese (HexA) with some asparagus. Ketchup (2)
Snacks- a couple of leftover turkey meatballs from a few days ago, 2 bananas and an activia 0%

Dreading WI but whatever! Off to Sweden on Tues and hope to be as on plan as possible. Will try and make packed lunches instead of winging it out and about, though hopefully they have regular places like Subway where I can get a salad and know it's low syns on days where we just want something quick while out. Will bring some light little tupperware's with me so I can bring pasta salads out too.

Tomorrow hopefully will do a nice Red day to detox a bit, today I needed hangover food! But at least low syn :) nearly caved and went for a Mr Whippie while shopping!

Also, quick heads up that Splenda is 1/3rd off at Sainsbury's at the mo- £2 instead of £3 for the big ones! I stocked up because nectar card sent me a load of "Spend £30 get £6 off" vouchers that are valid one per week so wanted to use it before going away as otherwise it'll go to waste- got loads of stuff like alpen light's and cat food that lasts :p the bill said I saved £11 because of the deals! Ha... All that Splenda :p I have like a year's supply now.

On a poster at my gym it has info on heartrate based on age. Your ideal heartrate would depend on what you want to do. I of your trying to burn fat it's different to just general trying to do cardio to get fit, but can't remember which is better. Personally, I try to keep my heartrate 155-165. I could work harder than that, but my fitness is t great, so heart rate is probably higher than ideal.
Sounds like you've had a lovely weekend. You excited for Sweden? Got many plans out there?
Xx

Yeah, that's the sort of thing the machine said! I was out for fat burning and obviously am really unfit, so I don't think 165~ was too extreme. It said for someone 20 that 180 was 80%! So I am nearly 23 which dips that a bit. I didn't feel like I was overworking myself at all *shrug*

Sweden- we have a photo shoot arranged and now it seems like I'm meeting a client who happens to live there and wants me to film her wedding in October! We plan on going to a theme park there and probably the zoo also (we love going to zoos and taking photos :D we went to Dublin Zoo last summer- want to make it our 'thing' when we're out of the country lol) and then, I don't really know! We're there for a week (including flying days) and I have a lot of editing to do also.

_

WI this morning showed -1. Could be worse but am still not thrilled as I had a +2 on Thurs (just after I got back from Dubai) *sigh* another wasted week :( though I did binge drink on Sat so might be to do with all those syns too, and the dodgily synned thai meal... I've been naughty.
I need to rein things in while in Sweden and try to be really good! Lots of fruit and veg... hopefully! Will bring snacky bits like mugshots and alpen lights for desperate times, hopefully we can find somewhere to grab fruit for breakfast around the airport as we have a 2hr bus to take and by the time we get off it'll be nearly midnight. Hoping they have s little M&S like thing like they do at Gatwick!

Have to pack today, a bit trickier than normal as baggage allowance with Ryanair is so harsh! We are sharing a 15kg bag for a week! *gulp* that's how much my bag to Dubai weighed for just a 3 day trip last week

Friend coming over soon and then later we're meeting the person whose house we are staying at (cat sitting!) to get the keys as they land here tonight.

x

1lb off is great considering you have been a bit naughty ;) Not a wasted week at all. As always, imagine what you would have been eating if you weren't SW'ing :) Don't let it get you down mate :)
So very jealous of you going to Sweden! Please post some pics on here or FB when you get back :) I've been thinking about Sweden a lot lately. Yesterday I was cuddling my Swedish Moose, drinking Swedish cider, and watching Swedish tv LOL!! I think I'm obsessed

That's a really low baggage allowance. When I went to Sweden I flew with SAS and their allowance is 22kg! I think mine was 21kg LOL! But I took waaaaaay too much stuff 'just in case' I couldn't cope with the cold  Wouldn't take half of it with me again lol.
Should be lovely weather now, esp in Stockholm :) xx

I'm sure there will be lots of pics so will share the best few on here!
You are obsessed! ;) fb me your address and I'll send you a funky postcard with a Swedish stamp! :D

Yeah, I know it would have been worse if I weren't on SW at all, but I meant wasted week as in... REALLY wanted to get to 4st award by Florida but it's looking impossible now :( will try hard but I've got a week in Sweden where products are all alien and I won't be at the house much, then when I get back a week later I'm off to Dubai again (AGAIN!) for another shoot and then a week after I'm back it's Florida time! So that gives two weeks of 100% days and two weeks of trying hard but sort of having to adapt... So the goal feels out of reach now. I will still try hard, I was a bit to relaxed in Dubai last time, got a bit cocky, learn't my lesson!!

Food today, detox Red day:
_____
B- Fruit, yog, splenda, blueberries

L- Random salad of spinach, big red pepper, carrot (grated), cherry tomatoes and a broken up leftover turkey burger with salad cream light (1) and a few small dollops of pickle for random tang (1)

D- Subway salad with chicken teriyaki (was 40 cal more than standard chicken so will call that 2 syns) and sweet onion sauce (3) and melted cheese (part of HexA1)

Snacks- late night feast of rivita (HexB) and cheese (HexA1), also had a couple of spoonfuls of a pretty plain caramel sundae G got from KFC (2 syns?), 2 alpen light's (HexB), apple, banana

Syns: 9
 damn, feel like I've barely eaten anything today (salad makes me really hungry like two hours later) but all those little syns have added up!
_____

So yeah, off to Stockholm tomorrow! Will have internet out there and be taking it fairly easy so will probably find time to Minimins :p
Met the people today whose house we are staying in, exchanged keys and chatted for a while- they told us loads of cool things to do and we marked stuff on the Stockholm map- they live in a really good spot! Looking forward to it :)

Quick food diary for en route to Stockholm:

Intended green but ended up sorta red!
_____

B- potato pancake (potato hexB, onion, carrot, olive oil HexB, eggs), activia light, banana
L- mouthful of pasta (didnt think it would be red day!) and chicken jerky salad from boots healthy range, probably only one syn for the dressing which was a small pot of thin vinagrette. Also had a bit of rice in so should syn that really but kinda had to go with what was availible at airport etc today so wasnt going to be 100% on plan.

D- mcdonalds cheeseburger (12.5 syns + hexA cheese) as was starving when we arrived and nothing else was open! Did enjoy it though :p

S- 2 alpen lights on journey (3rd HexB :/ oops), apple, activia 0, space raiders crisps (3 syns)
______

Not great! Have a feeling it is going to be tricky to stay on plan while away, just accepted another Dubai shoot too before Florida so there goes my 4st goal by then :( but am looking forward to exploring stockholm!

Quick food diary again so I can keep track of things!

Green:
_____
B- hexb porridge with hexa milk and banana
L- pasta n sauce macaroni cheese (1 + hexa2) had about 2/3rds a sachet (leftovers in fridge) with two fried onions.
D- half a red pepper :s but had a sort of snack binge after food shopping around 5- had a banana and half a carton of pouring yoghurt. Not sure the Swedish syns in things but the one I chose is less than 0.5% fat and less calories than muller lights so assume it is free, seemed like the best yog option. Drank about 3/4 of the litre through the day! Was really nice actually with fruity chunks. That kinda suppliments my lack of dinner lol, 370 cal of yoghurt!
Other snacks- HALF a square of this dime chocolate, 2 syns per square! Ultimate resistance control :O 1 syn.
Alpen light hexb2, a few pieces of dried fruit (papaya and stuff, maybe 7 tiny tiny cubes, will call it 1 syn), another banana.

Syns: 3

What a shame about James Gandolfini :(
good looking food diary

Sorry it has been so dull!

Yesterday and this morning I felt kinda ill; just massively drained for no reason and like my limbs werent working, on and off headaches but mainly just a feeling of gravity working extra hard against me and making me want to lie down :/ yesterday we went for a walk/cycle (the woman who's place we are staying at let us use her bike but there is only one; G enjoys walkig and I hate it so I zoomnoff on the bike then return to where he has walked) yesterday we went to the water side and photographed some goslings then went to Lidl and stocked up on food. Today we went a bit further and looked about a bit to try and find locations for two photoshoots we have while here. No luck but did have a nice time and it was SO HOT wow, felt like Dubai but less humid! Definitely caught the sun today. We had a sort of picnic in the sun by a beautiful church then went into a woodlandy bit and chased some bunnies :D
Feel like we should be out doing more but energy has been so low :( Gerard had this before we came out here, some sort of low energy bug (luckiky not much else other than some mild headaches and lots of head rushes, but it makes me reluctantly to leave the house!)

Managed a red day today, woohoo!
_____

B- nat ff yog with blueberries and banana
L- made a packed lunch if chicken cooked in a soy sauce based sauce and salad, but ended up just picking at it and having it properly for dinner. Had most of a pack of beef Jerky (1) and an alpen light (1/2 hexB1) as main lunch.
D- chicken salad (lunch leftovers) with balsamic and honey dressing (+2 for honey and other 1/2 hexB1 for a splash of olive oil) with some yoghurt and an apple after.
Snacks- yoghurt and banana soon after breakfast

Syns- 3
______

Weird appetite since feeling under the weather... Hungry in the morning and soon after breakfast but not much rest of day :S

Had no idea it would be so hot here :O it doesnt get dark like... At all... Maybe at like 11pm for an hour and then the sky starts getting light again!

Haha, I knew about Midsummer celebrations and stuff, just didn't put two and two together about it never getting dark here  doh!

Quick foodie as shoot tomorrow and Gerard is dying, he walked sooo much yesterday while I cycled and today didn't want to walk much but we ended up on our feet all day! Explored lots, saw the Abba museum, theme park and some massive boat museum (without actually going in any of them, but still counts towards tourist points, right?) and went on a pedalo and out for dinner after, was nice! :)

EE:
____

B- nat ff yog, blueberries, banana, kiwi

L- Cooked up a load of frozen mixed veg with some beans, tomato puree, a little bit of rice and some chicken chopped in and some HexA cheese. Almost a red meal if it weren't for the little bit of rice, but am glad I had it as that was at like 2pm and we didn't have dinner until around 10pm after a massive day of walking! Was a good meal though, 80% veg :D about 10% rice and 10% chicken.

D- ate out at a bar; I had baked chicken, maybe 1/4 in Nandos terms (with skin on +2? Wasn't oily) with potatoes and a side salad (which, funnily, I nabbed from Gerard's burger as he hates salad- there was so much rocket in it and onions and tomatoes, ended up making a decent side salad, ha!) also had some ketchup (+2) and some yummy sauce that was meant to be over the dinner but I asked for it on the side. It was soooo yum, quite creamy, had about 1/3rd of the small pot of it though instead of the lot :) will give that 4 syns as it tasted too good to be low syn, lol!

Snacks- 1/4 packet of left over beef Jerky (+.5), 2 Alpen Light's (HexB)

Drinks- NAS Squash, English tea (part HexA for milk), water

Syns- 8.5 but I'm sure oil and such were used on the dinner so will bump that to maybe 12... Not that I'm doing weekly syns or anything, just trying to be good! We walked so far today to find somewhere to eat that wasn't McD's, everywhere was closed because in Sweden Midsummer is a huge celebration (3rd biggest after xmas and NYE)!
____

Think I will have another EE day tomorrow, makes things so much easier when out and about like this with no access to minimins on my phone for quick syns checks! Have leftovers from today's lunch so lots of veg for lunch before shoot tomorrow :)
