Hi Darcy,

Just checked out your weight losses. You are just 3.5lbs away from the halfway mark!! Wow. Are you going to go all the way with exante? I'm planning to switch to diet and exercise once I get to 25BMI cos I know I'll have loose skin and I want to lose the last two stone or so slowly to avoid bigger problems.

RE: Clothes Bags: You could have OPENED a charity shop with all those clothes! Did you throw all the big sizes away? I've been trying to do that but it is hard. Last time I lost four stone I put it all back on and had nothing to wear. Now I KNOW thats not gonna happen this time (once bitten etc) but still its hard... I'll keep one trousers in each size as a example of who I used to be maybe. To laugh at in 2030.

BTW. THere is an obvious trend going on in your life - a clearing out of the past - the house, the weight. You are motivating me to clear out my house now. Gees. The pressure to keep up....

Four stone is a big loss. Everybody must be noticing now. Are you getting lots of comments?

Belle

Hi Belle

You are quite the psychologist you know!

I am clearing out the past, you're right. It didn't consciously start that way, but one thing led to another. I have a scary birthday later this month ( how did I get that old!! ) and I think that is part of it.

I have lived in the house for 30 years - it is the family home - and stuff just accumulates somehow. I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with running the house for some time - I have a challenging job, and caring for my Dad is hard work - and part of that is the amount of stuff on every surface in sight, and having to move so many things to clean anywhere. I plan to get a cleaner once I have the house straight, to give me some 'me' time once in a while.

I plan to stick to Exante until I reach goal. It works for me, albeit slowly! I know I have to introduce food eventually, but I want to be at goal before I do that.

The amount of clothes for charity is because I hoarded every size you can think of - and most of it was really old, even if unworn. I want to be left with a simple, streamlined wardrobe all of the same size! :D

Good morning Darcy xx

Morning Darcy (although late morning now). Ive been on the doss all day yesterday and today so far. Horrid weather but I am floating post audit and being back on track dietwise. Lambs are leaping in the green pastures and the buds are doing what buds do.... Yes, Life is beautiful....until I look in a mirror that is and see the lines and sagging skin and OMG it looks bad! So I am booking in to get some skin treatments called Endermologie treatments which apparently tighten the skin. Aligal is getting them with her diet Alizonne and they sound great so I am all excited. Booking that today has me almost hyper again. I CANNOT WAIT:)))))

Big Birthdays just come around dont they - I have had a few of my own. I have never had a "taking stock /big clear out" yet. I OUGHT to have cos I have a whole room in my house that we call the "store room" which is just full of old junk that ought to be thrown away. Sometime soon....I intend to do it......I WILL.......

Im not gettin any younger either. I think thats what has really motivated me to do this diet thing now. Get rid of it before its too late to have a bit of life. But I look at my mother who is heading for 80 and she can run faster than me and really has a hop and skip in her step. She says she is happier now than ever before because with her pension she has financial security. Shes got a wonderful group of friends (new friends) and they go to tenerife and Majorca and shes away somewhere at least once a month. She plays bowls at least three nights a week - competitively. She is an inspiration to me. She spent years taking care of my father and lost all her friends from lack of contact (and cos her two closest friends succumbed to cancer). When Dad died she had nothing. But she picked herself up and said "No-one is going to come knocking on the door looking for me -I best go out myself" and she has built a whole busy fun life for herself that I have to say leaves my social life looking pretty miserable. She is amazing. She has changed my whole perception of aging and it doesnt hold the same "reluctance" for me it once did. Mentally I am OLDER than my mother I'd say. Can you believe that.

Wish I had done psychology - those guys get money for peanuts...... and no liability - who ever sues a psychologist??

Sorry to ask this but is your father ill or just cantankerous? Sounds like you have your hand full with everything...

Hi Belle

Lovely to read about your Mum - a very lively lady!

My Dad is 88 next month, and very immobile due to age and health problems. He is also becoming very needy - not intending to be difficult I think, but wanting me to be around all the time and make every decision for him. I can't leave him on his own for very long, so going on holiday is logistically and financially difficult. I have to book him into a nursing home while I am away, and at £1000 a week that is scary money! My siblings do share the cost or there is no way I could do it. Still, they get off light considering I do all the physical caring and they can easily afford the cash contributions. I have to pack Dad up and take him to and from the home, so that's an added complication for me - not to mention how physically difficult it is to get him in and out of my car!

Anyway, enough of all that!

Motivation is rock steady, staying TS all the way. House clearing ongoing - although the builder has gone sick again. Even contemplating walking to work a few times a week - though not sure how long that will take me as it is 5 miles each way!

Hope all is well with you :)

Your skin treatment sounds fab! I have plans to add the beauty salon into my transformation, though not sure what sort of thing to go for - never having ventured anything more than the odd manicure before!

Um. I wont say what i think of your siblings so dont ask. Humf.

You are the good daughter eh? You wont regret it. Wish id done more when dad was sick. Once he was gone it was too late...

Hee hee!!! Only said I was thinking about walking - hasn't got any further than the thought!!

Lol. They have proven that people in comas who THINK about playing tennis stimulate the brain cells required to actually play tennis. Must work the same with walking methinks.
