Well, typical Bank Holiday weather - wet, cold and windy
Going to blitz the kitchen today - not for food, I hasten to add, just any lurking junk!
.........did it not too long ago, so shouldn't take too long.
I have booked a pick up from the local charity shop later this week - no way all of that is going to fit in my Ka!
Just need the builder to come back tomorrow - oh please make it so - then all is good
I'm on holiday the rest of this week so hope to go swimming in between all the house clearing and other jobs.
I also have a social worker coming tomorrow afternoon to assess my Dad's needs. Doubt that anything will come of it, but if I could get some help towards respite care that would be something at least.
Almost forgot this is a diet diary!! - all is well on that front, feel well and strong. Just really need the scales to be as motivated to change as I am!!!

Dad is 88 and getting to be really hard work. The only way I get away on holiday is to pay an extortionate amount in a nursing home for him. Hoping to get social services to at least contribute - though I'm not that hopeful. It's all a bit of a lottery it seems.
I work full time, sometimes with travel. I cook, clean ( well, sometimes!) and run the house. The builders are in ( sort of
), there is stuff everywhere......oh and I'm on a VLCD. Apart from that, nothing much Some days I do just want to run away to a desert island on my own!
I do find it so helpful to write my ramblings here - even if half the time they aren't diet related.

I appreciate what you are saying about your dad, I had my great gran for a while and she had Alzheimers, I loved her to bits but it was really hard going, we didn't get any help either. Fingers crossed they can do something for you xx.
I love your rantings, I think it's easy to get caught up in the VLCD and make it your life, which a lot of people tend to do, you have a busy life and VLCD is just something that you are doing as part of that if you know what I'm saying, I think people that do it that way tend to be more successful .I know that now that I'm not working I find it more difficult.
Glad to hear the builders have resurfaced, progress at last.

Dad has all his marbles, but is almost completely immobile so it's really hard work with him. I've managed up to now, but I need some help.

The social worker visit went extremely well. She was very pleasant, and really easy to talk to. I felt able to be open and honest.
We're going to get funding for respite care!!! Hopefully, also a personal allowance for me to use to help fund a cleaner. Delighted!
I feel so happy, not just with the outcome, but knowing that I am 'on the books' so to speak. Just knowing that social services are at least aware of the situation is very comforting.
The sun has even come out, and I've opened the windows.

The builder just phoned too - he's no better, but his business partner is finishing up a job this week and will be here on Monday to at least complete the half started room. That's a step forwards!
Charity shop doing a pick up on Thursday, so that's sorted
Been so busy only just had my first pack - tomato soup!
