Starting again for the last time! It's going to be a long journey!

Me too. We had our eye on one, but it's been sold. We want a golf gti diesel engine for under £7000! Seems like a hard ask! But we have to keep trying!

Far too many indulgences again this weekend, and as usual I'm paying for it! Starting Carol Vorderman's 28 day detox diet today, and going to see if after I've completed it I can work out if there's anything in particular I eat that disagrees with me! I'm well stocked up with fruit & veg, grains, pulses, rice cakes, oatcakes, ryvitas, dried fruit, rice milk and gluten free pasta, so shouldn't be too bad. Not to mention I depleted the cider & wine stock yesterday!

On the car front...we got a loan with our bank at 5.9% apr, so quite reasonable, and put a deposit on a car on Saturday, and are collecting it this Friday! We got a golf, with diesel engine as we'd wanted, and we managed to knock £300 off the asking price :D Getting rid of old car tonight. Will get just shy of £300, rather disappointingly, but better than nothing. I had hoped to at least get enough for a new laptop, as mine is rapidly deteriorating, but will just have to make do for now:)

Food for today (Detox day 1)

B/fast: museli: oats, chopped dried apricots, dried cranberries, rice milk
snack: nectarine, grapes
Lunch: salad: lettuce, cucumber, carrot, celery, red pepper, spring onion, with sesame seeds & haricot beans, and 3 rice cakes
Dinner: gluten free pasta with vegetable chilli: onion, extra virgen olive oil, carrots, peppers, peas, celery, tinned tomatoes, chilli powder, cayenne pepper

day 1 successfully completed, despite unplanned outings. managed to refuse chocolate cake in the afternoon, and after dinner we went and got rid of the car, and went to mcdonalds for a drink. i just had water, instead of usual milkshake, and no ice cream! then didn't join in with the family having giant cookies and muffins, so feeling very proud of myself! :angel09:

Lunch: oatcakes, salad, nectarine, orange
Dinner: brown rice & vegetable chilli (from yesterday)

Hi and :welcome2: I'm on a detox rather than counting calories at the minute, but I put your info into my BMR calculator, and would recommend trying 1,429 calories per day (as this is your base metabollic rate), but don't go below 1,200 calories because you don't want your body to go into starvation mode! Good luck! :)

Thank u very much for that ill give it a go :)

Day 2 completed without any hiccups! Hopefully this detox will help me kick some of my bad eating habits! Day 3 looks something like this:

B/fast: museli & rice milk
Lunch: stuffed peppers (brown rice & veg, with spices, stuffed into halved lightly grilled peppers), orange & nectarine
Dinner: cauliflower & potato curry (onions, cauliflower, potato, curry power, tomato puree, water & peas)

Detox day 4: feeling really tired today, and a little dizzy. But I do seem to be turning a corner with my love of junk food. The last few days have been really hard, especially when everyone else has something I like (like chocolate, cake or cookies), and I know I have to say no. But today, I've found I just don't want the junk. Feeling really positive, just wish I wasn't so tired!

B/fast: porridge made with rice milk, raisins, dried cranberries, flaked almonds and cinnamon
Lunch: butter bean and tomato casserole (butter beans, tinned tomatoes, onions, cannelini beans, water & spices)
Dinner: gluten free pasta with some of the butter bean and tomato casserole
Snacks: mini oat cakes, fresh fruit

Yeah, I seem to be doing well with sticking to the detox. But still feeling tired and dizzy, and got a bit of a headache today. Taking the kids to soft play later to keep them busy, then collecting hubby's new car tonight! :D

Food today:
B/fast: orange, banana, museli: dried fruit, almonds, oats & rice milk
Lunch: baked potato with tomato & butter bean filling
Dinner: ??? will need to think on this. gonna be a late night

Do you think the dizziness is the detox working? Caffeine withdrawal maybe, but I can't remember you having lots of caffeine to begin with. Hope it passes soon. Have a good time at soft play and then the exciting bit with the new car. When do the kids go back is it next week? Did the meetings about your lad resolve anything? Or are you dreading the new school year. Hope the day goes well and you have a good weekend. :D

Hope your headaches/dizziness pass soon! Yay for the new car - must be a relief!

To be honest, I don't know what the dizziness was about, but it seems to have passed at last! Feeling more energised now too. As I didn't drink tea or coffee in the first place, I wasn't thinking I'd get any withdrawal symptoms to caffeine (unless I've been drinking more coke and eating more chocolate than I'd realised!)
Kids loved soft play yesterday, and got the new car with no problems too. Just got the get used to it being silver instead of black! Kids are back to school in 10 days. Meetings are still in progress. Waiting for the assessment results, but I'm hoping this next school year will be better. New teacher who he likes better, so :fingerscrossed: Busy weekend now of sorting and clearing junk from the house!

Dizziness passed, so feeling much better. Definately a relif to have new car! especially as it will be more economic!:)

Well week 1 of detox complete, and stuck to 100%, so very chuffed with myself. I am, however, at a dilemma with myself though as to whether or not to continue. I was due my totm on Thursday, and still it has not come, so there is a chance I might be pregnant. Gonna test tonight and see. If it's positive I think I need to quit the detox, and incorporate back in dairy, meat & fish to make sure I'm getting essential nutrients.

Today's food:
B/fast: museli & rice milk
Lunch: oatcakes, salad and fresh fruit
Dinner: kidney bean hotpot
