Steps In The Right Direction...86.6lbs Lost Fasting

Call it 8lbs - that is fab!! Really well done. And you've done that on only two fasts a week. I hadn't realised that. Last month when you lost 12lbs were you fasting for three days a week? Just interested to know if an extra day a week amounts to an extra 1lb a week loss. Would be good to know in case some weeks I feel I can only manage two fasts and would help me understand how this might impact on my rate of loss. Have a great day. Next weigh in 1st September?

See I've just woken up & first thing I did was came on to your diary...... Surely you're not asleep. I'm awake from about 530am on weigh day with that nervous/excited feeling

I was excited..but never wake a sleeping puppy or you pay for it!

Oh my gosh!!!!! Get uuuuuuuuuppppp!!!! And pooooossssssttttttt!!! Xxx

Couldn't have said it better myself!!!!!

Ha ha ha...you're worse than me!

Get out from under that duvet. We're all dying with anticipation here!!!

Maybe she forgot :)

Hope you haven't had a fall getting your scales out of the loft! ;)

I always think I'm going to fall out the loft when I go up it, especially if I'm in the house alone. And I don't think Gavin would be a very good Lassie running off and alerting people to the fact

She's playing with our emotions!!! Haha! Right I'm off to do 1hr ( at least ) of cardio to undo yesterday's mess... Best be a post for when I'm back! ;) xxx

I'm sure all the steps you got yesterday burnt most of those calories off!

Glad you sorted him out first then :)

That is amazing, well done x

Thank you x I'm amazed it worked as never before have I been able to give myself that much freedom and still lose.

I'm the same. I try only to go up there when James is in the house with me! That's why I thought of it. LOL. Glad you're OK!!

Thanks Cate x Yes dropped to 2 fasts in anticipation of nearing goal and taking my foot off a bit to get to grips with what it would be like after. Took my goal date off as realised it didn't really matter as whenever I get there is fine. 2 fasts are easier to swap about if you need to in a week too and with the changes I have going on it made sense. Last month I lost more because I'd been ill the month before and had stopped fasting for a couple of weeks so I think I got the big initial whoosh again when I started back to it after eating at TDEE. The difference between 2 and 3 fasts is a difficult one. I think a lot depends on your UD intake as well as the number of fasts. I used to eat 2500 calories on an UD so I think I needed the 3 fasts. I think now that my calorie intake is probably lower on an UD I might get the same results on 2 fasts. I think it's really individual and depends on how your body reacts. Lexie gets great results from 2 fasts. My losses have never been linear. Could eat and do the same things 2 weeks in a row and get different results. I think I'm still averaging 2lbs a week since the start though. 8 1/2 months and 75lbs off...and still enjoying it which is the biggest achievement!

Thanks for detailed reply. I think you are so right about the goal date, especially for those of us who are intending to carry on with this for life as a way to maintain a healthy weight. I know that once I hit 13st I'll start feeling so much better about myself - I do already TBH - so may drop down to 2 days a week fasting then or maybe do a two day fast one week and a three day fast the next. Losing over 75lbs is fantastic. You have done so well on this and I'm sure your diary has inspired and is inspiring lots of people to give fasting a go, myself included.

Bloody amazing!!! I'm almost tempted to do it myself but would need a month to prepare so I reckon I may give it a go in September.... You have done so well x

I always feel I'm drawn to look down through the open loft hatch when I'm up there imagining my painful death when I fall

I think when you start doing something about something you are unhappy about you do feel better...including weight. I also think the dawning realisation that it's not just about getting to a certain number for goal but it's beyond that has really helped me. I feel relaxed yet in control...something I haven't felt about food in forever. If I wasn't on a diet...I was gaining weight...there was no middle ground. I now have hope that I will still be able to enjoy eating good portions of healthy food but will be able to maintain. The thought of that is a far bigger buzz than seeing the number on the scale if truth be told. I feel I've turned an emotional corner with my food issues of the past. A year ago I could never have pictured that happening and it is all down to fasting in my opinion. x

Amazing!massive welldone! Your an inspiration! Xxxxxxxxx

Awww thanks Carrie that means a lot to me xxx

That's fantastic chick! Sending u a pat on the back :) x

Thanks so much xx

Thanks Lexie xxx You should give it a go. I think it's the only way I'll be able to eat freely and confidently doing what I did this past month. Not weighing certainly made me focus more on if I felt full and when to stop and was I really hungry or just eating for the sake of it.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. The support I've received on minis has made it all so much easier :D xx

So after a bit of thought I've taken off my weight ticker and my goal weight. Inspired by Carrie I'm going to get to a healthy BMI and then see what weight I'm happy with rather than try and force myself to get to a certain number on the scales. I know BMI isn't everything..but you tell that to your GP ...but as long as it is in the normal range for my height I will be happy...no,make that ecstatic :D Have decided against not weighing till November and will continue to weigh once a month on the 1st of the month...scales are safely back up the loft for now. I'm mainly doing this because I don't want to run before I can walk and one month isn't long enough to try it out. Going to continue with the healthy eating plan and introduce as many varied healthy foods, nuts, seeds, oils, fruit and veg etc into my daily diet. Going to make full use of my Nutribullet! Most of the additive/sweetener/ingredients I can't understand or pronounce filled food is now gone from my cupboards. I have learnt this month not to get too obsessed though. This weekend I have my niece and nephew staying and I'm sure some non healthy food will be consumed...and that's ok. Only aiming for clean and healthy 80% of the time. Don't want to swing from one extreme...junkfoodaholic... to another...obsessive healthy eating bore.

Today has been a mixed bag eating wise. Have had a sore period type pain even though it isn't totm so haven't felt that hungry. No idea what it is but it is really painful. Had a protein shake, 2 slices of wholemeal toast with cashew butter and banana, strawberries and a peach and a salad with chicken breast. Hoping Gavin cooperates and we can get an early night.

That makes perfect sense about the numbers on the scales and not having an end date.

What height are you? What's ur BMI now? Think I'm starting to realise its nit about being a certain weight on a certain date.

You've done great chick. Fantastic results over the months which is inspiring for others :)

Hope ur feeling better and Gavin is tired!

I've just found Dave the hamster out fir a walk. Little sh-i-te! X

Like your new plan. It's so interesting to hear about how much your attitudes have changed doing this. It's like you've experienced some kind of Paul on the road to Damascus conversion! Love it. Have a great weekend and hope you feel better. :)

Never thought when I started fasting that it would have such an impact on my life. To feel in control with food is something new to me!
