I've just read somewhere that CD is changing, and that instead of 3 packs every has 4 regardless of height.
The research shows that you will lose as much with 800 calories a day as you will with 460, because your body goes into survival mode. Also, you will do less damage to your leptin levels.
So, the hour packs makes sense (LL is four packs). However, it does increase the cost. So, if money is an issue and you can be organised enough to do the planning -- then you could do a CD and low GI/Low Carb food combo.
If you have a BMI over 40 you can't do SS and have to do 810 until your BMI is lower and same for if your BMI is over 60 you can't go lower than 1000. That all seems a bit odd and pointless!
The heavier you are the more calories are required for basic metabolic functions. I suspect that the restrictions for peope who have significantly more weight to lose, to lessen the risk of them doing lean muscle damage. Very heavy people who go on a VLCD diet long-term often end up weakening their hearts. So, they should be very careful and monitored by a medical professional even more so than someone who has less to lose.
Does anyone know if this is true??
Don't know, but it does make sense.
