Wow! Looks sumptuous, class act suzyflo. I prepped the bathroom in a similar way for my wife's birthday a few years back, minus the champagne. Having time for such things is a must every now and then. I'd love to be able to rad the Saturday and Sunday Times, with coffee, brekkie, leisurely....

Do you remember mrs big b? She was a big inspiration to me and many others, just learned that the poor girl has been diagnosed with an eating disorder and depression. Bloody sad. She , bravely, posted her situation on her amazing before and after thread.

Hey suzyflo, where did he catch the trout and how? Not on a worm I hope? What fly? We really like fishing,

Oops sorry I missed your question, I can only answer part of it I'm afraid, he went to Lockwood Beck which is in the Guisborough/Lingdale/Moorsolm area, definitely not on a worm, it's fly fishing only up there, don't know what fly, he makes his own so don't know if it was one of his creations or a conventional one...he once won a competition a good few years ago in trout fishing magazine for inventing a fly, he won some fly tying equipment, think I've still got the magazine and the letter they sent him somewhere in the loft (I'm a hoarder!). If I remember I'll ask him which fly next time I speak to him, he's gone back home to Cumbria now.

It was very relaxing indeed, it would be nice if you could try and find some 'you' time, I know that's not going to be easy though with your hectic lifestyle!

That's a real shame about mrs big b, hope she's ok, she is indeed truly inspirational.

Can't believe it, I was going say was it Lockwood Bec, I've fished it myself whilst visiting a friend up in Gizzy! Lovely bit of country up on the N Yorks moors, Roseberry Topping, Rievaulx Abbey, Robin Hood Bay etc, we squeezed a loads in on that trip.

Amazing! Small world or what?!

Joe (my son) used to spent a lot of time up there in school holidays and at weekends, he used to help out litter picking etc in return for some free fishing....expensive hobby isn't it!

Back from not so sunny Scarborough, we had originally planned to go today, stay over then onto York tomorrow but due to the weather forecast we decided to go yesterday instead, we decided to ditch York and leave that until a day with better weather and no rain, so we're back at home with the heating on! Unfortunately lady luck was not looking down on us at the casino, we didn't win a thing, never mind though, we had fun trying.

Looking tiny on Scarborough sea front!

Ooh that mojito looks good! Glad you managed to have a nice time (despite the weather!)

It was good, plenty of it too, the cocktail pitchers were 2 for £12 so we had one each along with a five bean chilli meal each, then we realised they had only charged £10 for the 2 pitchers, bargain and all this was after the bottle of red wine we consumed in the afternoon!
The weather wasn't bad at all on Sunday which was our main day there, the rain held off until we came out of the casino at about 11pm so can't complain really, we definitely made the right choice by bringing it forward a day.
