Sybersadie's Diary

So, the holiday weekend is over and I'm back to 100% TS. The first full day was yesterday and I couldn't weigh in as usual on Monday I was at my Dad's so weighed in this morning and find I have only put on .5 of a lb o_O

Can't quite believe it is such a small gain given my food choices on Sunday! Of course I did have a full day 100% TS yesterday so maybe the gain was more and some of the water weight went already, but I'm happy to take a half pound gain. It is now onwards and downwards to the 22nd April. I plan on moving my weigh days over the coming four weeks so that my final weigh in before the holiday is on the Friday 22nd! So, next week weigh in will be on Wednesday.

If I could get another half a stone off by the time we head off on holiday that would bring the total loss to 2 stone gone by the time we go away. I would be one happy bunny :bunnydance:

Hi,

Well done on limiting the damage, that's great. Your choices don't seem to have been that bad.

I'm hugely impressed at the ONE Yorkshire pudding, that's amazing will power.

You can do that half stone no problem. In fact I bet you will be under 10 stone for your holiday.

Just looked over what I ate and I suppose it wasn't too bad. I think I am impressed with such a small gain because I had been adding in a meal the previous week so was just topping up over the weekend. I had also managed to let milk in tea slip back into the diet, then let the exercise slip last week.

Anyhow - yesterday began the big push toward my work deadline and then the holiday. Not sure I will be under 10 stone by then as I have just over 10lbs to lose to get there and I am a slow loser, but If I can lose another half stone I will be very happy.

So I am back to 100% TS with no milk in tea and back on the exercise. The exercise is as much to help me de-stress as it is to tone up and burn calories. I had forgotten how it helps clear my head, so I am back to doing cardio for 3 days this week, will add in resistance next week.

You should definitely be impressed, you did great.

Half a stone is a great goal. My losses have slowed quite a lot this month. I think I may have another STS week which sucks but I know it will go eventually.

I really am rubbish when it comes to exercise. I have no motivation for it but I must start doing something.

Sadie that's brilliant! And you will smash 7lbs at least I'm sure, for you I would guess exercise would be more important when you can't really have much more to loose, toning would be great for you. I haven't really done much exercise apart from walking yet which is something I need to address this week x

I still have 2 stone 10lbs to lose Bex! I am not yet half way. I started this journey with just over 4 stone to lose, I know not as much as some, but still a fair amount for me to shed.
Exercise has always been key to me keeping the weight at bay. I had a couple of shoulder injuries in the last few years which, along with work, prevented me doing as much as I wanted and as I got bigger I didn't want to go anything anyway.
But over the last five weeks I've added exercise back in and I'm now glad to be able to get back to it again. If you've not done much exercise, walking is a great way to get moving!

Love walking my dogs but it's slow going! Bassets love to sniff! I love going to the gym but I just can't afford it at the moment, I have a rower and a strider but not really anywhere to put them so trying to figure that out at the mo, so it's just a bit of fun on the wii fit, got lots of DVDs (including insanity) but no DVDs player! Will sort something out! Think my "ideal" weight is about 8-9 stone ish but I don't think I will make it! Would be really happy at 12/14 but I'm a pear and that usually means a size bigger on the bottom than top, would love to get that sorted lol x

The cheapest option is to get a cheap DVD player, then you could work your way through your DVDs.

I also have loads of DVDs and I am lucky, we have a big garage so I over the ears I've bought an eliptical machine and an exercise bike. Both were got off eBay in good condition, and a fraction of their cost new. It is a bit like having my own mini gym :)

Looks like your doing great.
Great work on the 1 Yorkshire pudding....that's willpower

It is slow going for me though Sarah.

I managed to stop at 1 because I only made enough to go round 1 each! There were moans, but at least I limited temptation :D

I have had a good day, thanks Darcy. Busy and productive :)

Great idea looking on eBay for gym equipment! Really need to get my arse in gear for exercise but arnt as yet. Hope your day is going (gone) well x

I've bought some exercise DVDs and going to Zumba next week. Not ready for the gym yet.

We are going to but a rowing machine, more for my husband than me, one of my little treats when I hit 60 pounds lost is to go to Yoga classes again.

Sybersadie, how do you find exercise on TS? I have never done a VLCD where it is encouraged. Do you have any problems with it?

So far no problems, but if I feel hungry on a day I've been exercising I will have a fourth pack (usually a bar).

I also didn't start exercising right away. I introduced gentle exercise in week 6 and have built up slowly. And, I'm not killing myself with the exercise and I don't have a personal trainer so I probably don't push myself as hard as I could. I am just trying to get moving, get my heart rate up for 30 mins, and tone up in the hope that when the weight is off I will look a bit better :)

I think I might just have to start with some walking for a couple of weeks and then see how it goes. We have a lovely little lake across the road from us so at least I have somewhere nice to walk.

So the plan is 5:2 and exercise to maintain?

Walking is great exercise. I used to walk everyday when I first started getting into exercise, again at the start of some sort of diet. Eventually I moved on to running. Haven't run in a long while.

Maintenance wise, I'm not sure yet. At the moment I think I will give 5:2 a go when I get there. I have also been looking at eliminating sugar - currently reading Sweet Poison Quit Plan, and think I will look over the Diet Doctor website (which is about a low carb high fat diet) and Diet Coach, which I think is similar.

It will be a while away yet, though. I am sure I will put some weight back on when I am on holidays, and we are away again in August. At the rate I lose I am thinking maintenance won't happen until much later in the year than I had hoped. But, if it takes time so be it. Maybe I will be better prepared mentally as I will have had more time to re-learn a new relationship with food.

I think starting to plan for maintenance as early as possible can only be a good thing right. I have two holidays planned too. I am hoping to be at goal by the second one.

I think low carb would be good but being veggie that gets tough. I'm not a big fan of pulses either so the protein options diminish to being eggs and cheese (my favourites).

Learning to do things differently is so tough, it's such an odd thing. I was soooo happy being slim but still let it get bad again and again and again.

I think exercise is good but it will either make or break me. I think i'll just want to eat more and probably more than ive exercised.
I did Couch to 5k last year, have you heard of it. Its a app on your phone and by 8 weeks you can run 5k in 30mins. I want to do the 10k one next.
