On WW you can exercise to "earn" extra points, but you can't on skimming world.
I don't know if they publish their reasons but these are my suspicions why not (my guesses only)
*we are supposed to be learning good food habits for a lifetime, so 300cals a day of "treat" food is plenty. Above and beyond that we should be sticking to the nice healthy filling free foods
*having done WW, most people say they exercise only to earn more food points. On SW they still encourage you to exercise (body magic) but because it speeds weightloss and helps to tone you up. This promotes a more positive approach to exercise and means losses should be higher if you do exercise (because you aren't eating more cals to balance out what you just burned, you will probably lose more)
*most people over estimate what they burn. I saw this all the time on WW. "Oh I took the kids for a splash in the pool" would be recorded as an hours intensive swimming, and then the person would eat a load of extra points that they hadn't really "earnt" and actually end up gaining weight.[/QUOT
Good guesses there i reckon! Didnt realise WW allowed that, never done it. Lol @ a splash in the pool being counted as an intensive workout, i know people who do this also...'i walked the teeny dog to school at pick up time, thats defo burnt my dinner off' Its a 7 minute walk :| lol. Yes, SW is definatly aimed more at lifestyle and healthy values in llife rather than lets drop the weight and exercise like a maddun to earn last nights vodka. ...im glad im with SW
