Ha ha definitely not running! But getting there slowly and much better than I was. Great to see you back here Nomad
Went to the gym after work today as I missed yesterdays session because I had a lunch date with a friend at Harvester straight after work and after that I was too stuffed to move! Found the session surprisingly easy today even though it was a slight notch above my usual program. I didn't get out of breath or tire easily. Could it be that I am getting..... fitter??? Hmmm
Swimming is going well. Got an extra session in this week on Thursday morning and did 120 lengths in 85 minutes which I am pleased with. Especially as lengths 86 started with crippling cramp in my calf and I thought I was going to drown! Luckily I managed to get back to the shallow end and work it out. It was still sore for the rest of the day and yesterday but seems to be ok now.
My weight loss is 16lb so far which I am very pleased with. If I can hit all my mini targets this year then I will have lost 35lb by Christmas which is definitely exciting
Off to work shortly and I have a 2 hour break in Weymouth! Such a hardship! I have packed a change of clothes and I think a visit to the beach may be necessary
Unfortunately that job is not on the horizon for me
Today will be a swimsuit day though! I'm off to the pool again, I am going to limit myself to 80 lengths today as I did 100 yesterday and as today is my lazy day I think 80 will suffice
I have to say, I am feeling quite good today! Not just today really, pretty much every day! With every lb that melts away I feel that little bit better and with every visit to the leisure center I feel more positive and motivated! I really think that if I didn't still have a gammy leg I would bounce around all day and skip instead of walk! It's good to feel good
SO lovely to hear that Taz - the pounds are melting away now and all the time your leg will be getting stronger - its all good and about time - you deserve some luck x
Yes, every lb off is a lb less for my knee to deal with. Actually, it's 4lb less for my knee as the knees take 4 times your weight in pressure! My knee does still keep giving out and causing some pain but on the whole it's MUCH better. I'm getting stronger all round at the gym and having good muscles will help to keep me upright
That's really good to hear Taz. Your motivation is brilliant and you are helping yourself to become part of the solution - not part of the problem - that is an important decision and not always an easy one to make x
