Taz's diary - Need to do this!

Hope you've had a good day & lack of sleep isn't catching up with you. x :)

Take care Taz x

Morning all. Nomad, I am only loosely following SW at the moment but I am maintaining quite well at the moment. I am hoping to lose 5lb by christmas, 3lb has gone so I want to shift another 2lb before then.

Taz - well done on the 3lb. I've been sleeping well this week - long may it last x

I was spare today, I was asked to do a job as soon as I started. Not bad, I hear you say.....

The job was this: A train from Portsmouth failed at Fratton this morning, it was a 3 car train to Cardiff, a busy commuter train. I was asked to go to Westbury to restart the service from there at the booked time with another train. A one car train. Anyone can work out that a 3 car won't go in to 1! There were poor people left on platforms everywhere. On the way back, at Newport I gave up. No one would get off the train and wait for the next one and I couldn't get on it!!! So I stood back and said to a manager who was on the platform "I'm not taking it. I'm refusing to move this train on the grounds of safety". He agreed with my decision and after people refused to leave the train, people were TOLD they had to get off. When capacity got down to a more workable level of sardine I got back on and carried on home. At Bristol, where there was a bigger train waiting, it took 7 minutes for the train to empty!!!

Well done to you. That was a gutsy decision to make and a good one x

Good for you! Sounds like you coped brilliantly. x

It's what I have to do, the safety of the train and it's passengers is the first priority and I wasn't about to take a severely overloaded train through the tunnel!

Morning Taz love, well done on that sensible decision. :)

You gotta be gutsy for Taz's job I reckon cos that was a decision that had to be made for safety and I bet the crowd on the train didn't agree with it x

I'm sure they didn't Gem.
