The diary of a (not so-Little)Sausage

Now that really is inspiring! One day....

Well, I really should post my food for today.

Breakfast:
Activia snackpot
2 coffees with skimmed milk (1 syn)

Lunch:
Small portion of my veg and bean stew with some baby tomatoes I found I'd left in the fridge at work. A few of them looked a little sad but too good to throw away, so I salt and peppered them and chucked them in the almighty nuker that is our office microwave. Didn't want cold tomatoes.
Activia snackpot

Snack:
Pineapple, mango and melon slices

Supper:
SW friendly fish pie! Will use HEa low fat cheddar on top and will try and make a sauce similar to the one Red posted with veg stock and a little flour. I don't have cornflour, so will have to make sure it's zapped on the hob to cook the flour. Have got loads of loverly fish and spinach to put inside, and will serve with broccoli, carrots and courgettes. (HEa + 3 syns)

Hifi bar/Fibre Plus bar (HEb)

Total syns: 4

Hmmm. So, decided to leave work early. Office is super quiet and I feel kacky. So there. Plan on making some couscous and roasting some med veg for lunches for the rest of the week. Also have some nice poached salmon which I will add. I did remember to bring back the Tupperware I have at work, (I stockpile) before I run out at home. #WINNING!

Hey Little Sausage, not being a barse or anything but just wondered if you might want to look at my Runkeeper stats. I started using the app pretty much as soon as I started running (after the 3km run I was telling you about).

You can see how slowly I started off and how I could hardly run any distance at all then slowly got better up to August when I was doing some 5km runs.

You can also see how I've been slacking off since November time so need a kick up the bum! I'm hoping to be back where I was in August / September in the next few months!

Runkeeper Activities

Hope it helps...

Ooh, I will definitely have a look at that tomorrow when I'm not on my phone. Thanks, Jules!

So, I really enjoyed the fish pie! I made the sauce with veg stock and flour and 5 laughing cow extra lights and I put some cottage cheese in the mash. I used just shy of 3tbsp flour (9 syns). Then there was a little cheese on top. There was enough sauce and fish for 2 pies, both of which will serve 3, or 2 very generously! I estimate that each portion has 1 HEa and 2.25 syns. Not bad at all!

I used her idea for the sauce... I think it was originally Britmum's idea? Worked really well! Need to make sure it's well cooked, though, so it doesn't taste of flour! X

I made fish pie tonight too. Yum yum. My recipe is based on the one on the SW website. For the White sauce I used a 250g pot of quark mixed with a few spoons of v low fat fromage frais and an egg. I forgot to mix it in with the fish this time (just spooned it on top) which wasn't quite as good but still yummy. It is Syn free apart from the cheese (HexA) on top and really easy to make.

Gail x

Breakfast:
Melon, mango and pineapple slices
2 coffees with skimmed milk (1 syn)

Lunch:
Loads of salad leaves, barbecue chicken pieces (2 syns) and wholegrain rice

Supper:
Many-veg risotto with onion, leeks, peppers and mushrooms. 2 blue cheese laughing cows on top (HEa)

Fibre plus bar (HEb)
Hifi bar (6 syns)

Total syns: 9

Pretty good going today! And I may even have another cereal bar and rock the boat with 9 syns today. 'Cause that's how I roll.

What is a rock Tue boat? How are you feeling today btw?

That should've been rock the boat!
Starting to feel vaguely more human now, thanks for asking! X

Hiya, I thought I would pop by and say hello on your diary. Your food for today looks yum. You have done so well on your SW journey, well done!

I am going to have a read of your diary from the start, so see you later lol

Thanks for your advice to me earlier. Have given myself a good talking to and ready to go again. x

Good! That fish pie looks good btw. Steven doesn't seem to like the sauce in fish pie - so may have to be a dish for me only one day

The fish pie was lovely. You could test the sauce I made on him. Flour and veg stock. Maybe he doesn't like the rich butter/milk mix? This is a lot lighter and is more like a veg gravy. If you made a small amount, and just made sure to cook it enough, get him to try a little!

Nice to see you here, Chelsea. And glad I could be of help. Excellent to see you've taken the bull by the horns and done a shop that is super SW friendly. And that you're hiding the scales til next week! X

Yes I think it is the creaminess he seems to dislike. I'll try that!

Yeah, he may just like it. It was more like a vegetable gravy!

Your food looks great as per little sausage, nice one. Am going to have to give that fish pie a go. And I love the look of your risotto too! Nom!

Well done on the syns! Xxxx

Hey, what a great diary and your food choices look great and have given me lots of inspiration. You seemed to have settled very quickly into SW. Well done for that.

I'm just off to have some 100% greek yogurt with a large dollop of sugar-free jelly before I go to bed.

Night night x

so, LS... what are your menu plans for today? Can't wait to see, so I can get some ideas.

Hope you are having a great Thursday :)
