The diary of a (not so-Little)Sausage

Sounds good... I'm just going because it's so close! I still have to sort something out for mama's day. Seriously, my mum is so annoying to buy a gift for. She doesn't like smelly things or anything you'd normally get. May head to Purley way and get her something electrical that she can mess with. And some flowers. At least she likes flowers! X

My Mum has always been very insistent. She just wants her bunch of daffs. I'm the same but I don't suppose I'll get them. I think he has made me something though :)

I agree with Pinkie,

Don't feel guilty. It's part of the plan. That's what syns are for. So that you can have that kind of stuff AND enjoy it and not feel guilty. A new experience for many of us :)

Good luck with the running Pinkie. And hope you have a lovely weekend too :)

Gail x

Thanks Gail. It's like I'm a new woman! Me running, who'd have thought it!

Agree with you on the syns. And when I think about the eating and drinking habits if friends who have never seemed to have an issue with weight. That is all they are really doing. They naturally moderate everything. My moderate switch failed, so I need the guidance of SW to help me along the way. :)

Hi Little Sausage, just catching up on your day from yesterday. WELL DONE on going to a place where you used to eat pizza and making such great choices - that shows you must have changed your habits! And I bet that your meal was really yummy anyway! And a nice glass of wine is just the treat you deserved - seems like you're doing really well on your mission to up the syns. Hope you're having a really great weekend xxxx

Thanks Jules! I was very pleased at being able to stay away from the pizza!

Breakfast:
Banana
2 coffees with whole milk and sugar (4 syns)

One chocolate (from the box I gave my mum today!) (est 3 syns)

Lunch:
Cucumber salad

Supper:
Chilli pasta bake (free, with quark to replace White sauce) topped with LowLow cheese (HEa)
Hifi bar (HEb)
Sainsburys low alcohol beer (1 syn)

Total syns: 8

Hey Pinkie! Not bad, thanks. Have spent today running around for my mum and doing the typical Sunday stuff. Laundry, fun.

Car boot sale yesterday was a bit disappointing. I'm surprised, as I'm sure that there used to be loads of pretty (albeit odd) china crockery bits (I love old teacups, and they're great for small candles and tealights) but there was nothing remotely interesting. Shame. Will have to look out for another one. Also, I think there's a massive antiques/odds and ends fair somewhere in west Sussex, so will have to find out more.

Went to the florist yesterday and spent ages picking flowers for a bunch for my mum. Ended up spending about £50, but she does love flowers, and it's so difficult to get her anything! Made a really good chilli pasta bake for supper tonight. All SW friendly chilli, and then baked in 2 dishes. Mine had quark and some reduced fat cheese on top, and my mum and brother had a proper White sauce on theirs. It was great, and there's quite a lot leftover, so I know what I'll be having this week! Today has been really bad for superfree stuff. Hoping that it won't affect my weigh in too badly. I always get really nervous just before, so hopefully I'll have a decent loss.

Xx

Hey Sausage, good luck for your weigh in. I love car bootys. They can be disappointing though! Car boot season will pick up soon I imagine though. Your pasta sounds lovely, been ages since I had a good pasta bake. Did your mum like the flowers? Xxxx

(I love old teacups,

So do I! I totally love teacups and saucers. I have a littlke collection - although they are packed away until the kids are a bit older.

You shouldn't feel bad about one glass of wine. I had more than one last night and went entirely over syns whereas you stayed well within syns and you were extremely good. I should be more like you. Makes me wonder about what to do next weekend.

Sorry I haven't visiterd for so long - but you really are doing incredibley well.

Thanks, Red! Yeah, I gave up feeling guilty about the glass of wine... What's one glass?! Hope you can find something low-syn for the weekend you have planned... you could prepare some extra vegetables for your meal? Or, maybe, cook up a whole load of SW-friendly tapas if you don't HAVE to have a takeaway...

Sausage - good luck for tonight! x

Is it weigh in tonight Sausage? Good luck lovely - I hope it reflects how good you have been x

Thanks y'all! Yep, weighing in tonight. REALLY hoping for a good'un! I have been pretty good, so it'll be disappointing if the result is a bit crappy.

xx

So, my colleague is away on vacation this week, and the 2 weeks after that he's in the Nashville office, which means that I am ON MY OWN(!) in the office until April 25. Crazy! Lots to be getting on with, although I will definitely have some quiet time.

Plus, I'm off on Thursday and Friday this week, as I'm heading up with brother number one to visit brother number 2 in Sheffield for a couple of nights. Haven't seen him since Christmas, so it should be lovely! He knows that I've joined Slimming World, and is super impressed with my loss so far. I wonder if he'll be able to see a difference? Will be thinking carefully about what food to take up, so that I can stick to plan. I'll be stopping along the way (the drive is about 6 hours door to door) so I'd really like to have some energy-boosting, SW friendly snacks so that I'm not tempted by Burger King or KFC at the grotty services! I'll be doing the cooking over the couple of days I'm there, so proper meals will be ok. I am so excited to see my little brother :)

Why don't you have a look ahead and see if there are any spudulike type places in any of the service stations en route. OK a jacket potato and baked beans isn't necessarily the most interesting meal in the world - but it's filling and free (on EE).

Thanks, Pinkie - I looked and it would seem the only eateries are Burger Kings and KFCs. No problem, though, as it won't take me long to make a cous cous salad or soup the night before! My brother will, no doubt, devour a BK meal. I shall feel virtuous not having one! x

Little Sausage, I've read your diary after seeing your kind informative replies on Chelsea Lou's diary, which help me very much as well. Thankyou.

You have done so well on SW and are obviously going to continue to have great success. I have learned from you how important planning is, which I have been a bit sloppy about in the past and naturally then got fed up with a diet of jacket potato and beans! So many thanks for your postings, meals in particular, which are very helpful.

Enjoy your nice quiet office for a while and of course your family visit to Sheffield soon. Good luck for tonight's weigh in as well, I'll be interested to see how you do. :)

Ah that's a shame. But couscous sounds infinitely more appetising anyway! BK/KFC would only taste really greasy and make you sick - stay clear of it's evilness!

Agreed! I'd, no doubt, just feel super guilty afterwards. There's no way I'm going to risk falling off the wagon!

That would be the ideal I guess, I am considering cooking something, I'm pretty sure they will want a takeaway but I don't have to have that. I'll only end up feeling crap about it like I do about yetserday.

I hope you enjoy seeing your little brother. You could make some Quiche to take on the road too - nice and filling.

Ooh, that is an excellent idea! Thanks :)
