The diary of El - Everyone Welcome :)

lol

I was like that the other day, made it worse as I had to buy a mahooosive creme egg-egg, 12 creme eggs, a box of lindor balls (all for other people tho....polish my halo!!) I really wanted to rip open the lindor tho when I got in

My day isn't going too bad so far, all on plan. I do have to venture out to the shop in a bit - so I must stay away from the naughty stuff! x

Did u manage it hun? You are good buying for others!!!!!! I got my nieces a box of haribo each instead of chocolate cos the eldest gets migraines off it and the little un will get loads!!! X

Yup:angel09::angel09::angel09: I was positively saintly !!!!!

I only went to the local Co-op to be fair, just needed some peppers & tomatoes that I forgot when I went to Asda the other day.....but I still avoided the choccie bit (had to keep my head down as I went through the door tho as they have a massive display of eggs there

Ive suffered really badly with migraine since my brain surgery, but i'm usually ok if I just have small amounts of choccie.....its if I have other 'trigger foods' on the same day that its a recipe for disaster.

Hows the cleaning going? Ive just put a last load of washing in, I'll be glad when the warm weather comes so it can go on the line to dry - smells sooooo much nicer dried outside.

I had it 1st time back in 2007 for a tumour, there were some complications during the surgery & I had a stroke which affected my balance (it damaged the balance centre in my inner ear) and also took my hearing

then I went back in for further surgery almost 2 years ago to separate a facial nerve from an artery (part of the original problem) they removed my entire inner ear structure to try cure the vertigo I was still suffering & I had to use a zimmer frame (old cow lol) for ages before going on to crutches while my brain re-learned some of the balance signals from just 1 remaining organ.
This hasn't happened as quickly as I would have liked so I'm still very off balance and have to use the crutches in open spaces (I get what I call 'bouncy vision when I move quickly)
Good thing tho was that last year in another op I was given a 'magic ear':) its a bone anchored one so it kind of 'plugs into my head' and is really tiny but I can hear again now so thats been fab:) x

It is so amazing what they can do isn't it? I'm in awe of medical profession (although scared!). You've been through an ordeal and a half but so great you've come through, although it is an effort sometimes. I had a tumour removed from my lacrimal gland 6 years ago. It was HUGE and right round my optic nerve but they did it & my sight (although a bit double that I can barely notice) is excellent. I am so lucky and moorfields are legend!

It takes a long time to get back - I kept wondering why things weren't back to normal but after a few years it was. Slowly but surely! I was discharged last year (hoorayyyyyy!!) and the advantage is that, like a Bond villain, I can't cry out of my left eye - watching a sad film I always make sure anyone else is on my right and they never know!

Here's to good health inside and out!!

Phew, you've been through a bit !! Is your hearing as it was before with this amazing bit of equipment?

You will resist!! I considered a hot x bun but not even that keen. Have told whole family NO chocolate so they are well aware. I have enough in the drawer of doom if I really need it - which I don't!

Flipping hot cross buns. I've pigged a whole packet before now and look at the syns in them! Shudder.

Well flipping heck. What a night. Sat watching corrie. Minding my own business. Hear a massive noise outside about 50 lads kicking the c**p out of cars down the street. Been outside in the cold since 8 pm waiting for the police. Nearly the whole street was out.

Its such a quiet street usually. Can't believe it really. Cold and tired. Time for a
milky coffee (a) and a curly curly I think xxx

Oh and I had half a glass of red wine with tea so syns for today 15 x

Oh god that's horrible, were many cars damaged? Hope the police got the scumbags!

3 on our road but a few round the corner too. Nope. Not yet. They were called by 3 people and arrived quite quickly but it's like a maze round ours and when the police are in their car they had no chance of getting them!!! It's ridiculous though. It took over an hour for them to come and take the details of the people's who's cars were damaged and they sent women police officers on their own in the cars. I don't think it's right man or woman they're made to go out on their own its not safe!!! Xx
