The First Diary of Trudy C age 40 something!

Well a bit of down time after the hospital and shopping as just exhausted - one of my gals picked Ben up and let him help her feed the horses which gave me some more time - bless him he has been v good though! Definitely feeling a bit rubbish today but tomorrow is another day!!! Will take a pic of the tummy gals when the swelling has gone down which they assure me it will!!! Tried on my jeans today but they were tight on my waist so need a bit more time to wear them!!!
Delighted that the whoosh fairy came again today so hopefully heading back to normal!!!! YAY
Achieved a PP day today:-
B - muffins
L - chicken kebab/ rhubarb and custard
D - salt and pepper chicken/ muffins
Maybe a bit of work tomorrow I hope - we will see!! xxx

Listen to Chris, to soon for work xxx

OMG take it easy you are worrying me now talking about work -

Sorry!

Agreed!! Don't risk your recovery! Take it easy xx I know you are prob feeling a bit stuck indoors, but after your op you really should rest as much as poss, it's only been a week. Give yourself time, you will feel so much better soon but doing too much too soon could set you back and mean you have to stay off your feet even longer.
Sorry - nag over! :) xx

I know ladies - will take it easy I promise!!! Just made a mug cake cos it was on my brain all day!!! Made an orange one but no where near as good as the choc one but didn't want to have more tolerated as already had a few today - oh well still a PP day but will do better with the tolerated tomorrow!!! LOL!

The fact you are thinking dietry whilst recovering from hosp is amazing. Just take it easy.

Trudy, we all missed you so much on Saturday and talked about you loads - not only do you come across as a very caring person but a very brave one too. You MUST NOT rush your recovery, you've undergone major surgery even if it was of your own volition. I'm not going to go soft on you on the dietary front, though - to get maximum benefit and to justify the money you have to do what's in your control to remain in good shape (and I mean that in the kindest possible way) xxx Sleep well tonight x

tiredness & swelling are to be expected. The swelling can come & go for quite a while. try not to lift anything too heavy early on & put your feet up as much as you can. Sorry for sounding bossy but speaking from experience. The more rest you give your tummy now the better the results will be.
Fantastic on the food front!
xx

Thanks so much China - good to get the news from the horses mouth so to speak!!!! Woke up after a fair nights sleep last night - nearly able to sleep on my side again which is nice - Ben ready for school but that's taken it out of me!!!! Can't believe how quickly I wilt from the simplest tasks!!! Walked to the washing room with a load of washing only to find someone had beaten me to it and that fair exhausted me!!!! LOL! What a wimp!
Rhubarb has done the trick with the whoosh fairy and back to my regular routine thank goodness - going for a PV day today - YUMMY!!! but with less tolerated if I can!!!!

Hi Trudy have you had a good day??????

Yep Siddid - managed 3 hrs in the office then had visitors ALL day - everyone left about 7pm so made my tea and back on the sofa - mind you during visitors I was plonked on the sofa the whole time so that is resting right??? No snooze and no painkillers after initial morning ones!!! YAY!
Lovely PV day will try for another PP tomorrow but play it by ear!!!!
B - muffins
L - turkey and crayfish stirfry
D - steak/ swede and carrot/ onion and mushroom sauce/ muffins
Hope I am on the up!!!! YAY!

Great.you sound much better xxx hopefully you've turned the corner and good food day xxx

Trudy, I've had Internet problems and family dramas so not been on here for the last few days, but I'm definitely thinking of you and it sounds as if you're doing great! Don't rush it though - presumably you have to behave like an invalid for at least 6 weeks and, going by what China has said, the results will be better if you do. So I don't want to hear you've left that sofa for many minutes till the end of March! Xx

trudy hunni, don't miss the painkillers. You may find you didn't thinkyou needed them because you had the build up in your system and so that was helping. But if you miss them you will lower the amount and it may become too uncomfortable again.

My hubby has to take a lot of painkillers and in the early days he would miss them saying he didn't need them and would suffer. The whole idea behind a regular does is to keep you at a level where there is no pain.

sorry hunni, lecture over LOL, I don't want you to suffer. Great news you can nearly lay on your side, hopefully better sleep once that happens. Small tasks are bound to wipe you out, your body is using all its energy recovering so none left for working.

take care xxx

Glad to read that you're resting up (a little!)... I presume your medical team know that you're doing the Dukan diet. I'm just a little worried about your "funny turns" and hope you're eating enough nourishment to heal properly. Take care x

Thanks for your concern gals, and defo had a good day yesterday as feeling pretty crappy this morning....... Got Ben to school but feeling sick and wiped out - also have a bit of an upset tummy so must have eaten something I guess!!! Resting on the sofa and not pushing it! Maintainer, did tell them I was doing Dukan but they didn't really know much about it but I promise I am eating loads - had mostly PV days last week to give my body that little extra so I think that was okay - now trying to hit PV/PP rhythm again but will play it by ear - CANNOT wait to get back onto conso and stick with it this time!!!! Weight not altered for the last few days but I am happy to have lost just under a stone since the surgery - 12lbs off my TW but as I said before I may adjust it to 11 st 2 lb but again playing it by ear - mentally I want to be in the ten's but Dr D's TW of 12 stone is still ringing in my head - maybe for good reason - dunno!!!! Oh well!
Can't wait to be back on form - feel like I am being incredibly lazy but hey ho.............Had my first shower since last Monday - oh it was bliss - strip washing just not the same - scar is v v neat and looks to be healing very well - tummy still swollen and bruised but they assure me it will go down - tbh even if it stayed like this it's not the end of the world - I think Gok would say I have an hourglass figure which suits me!!! LOL! xx

So had a very boring day today and feeling a bit stir crazy but just not up to anything else! Sofa is very boring!! PP day been a bit tough to stick to and I had a moment about 5pm where I nearly started on the toast (Ben had beans on toast for tea) so have put dinner on early before I cave!!!!
B - muffin
L - oatbran porridge/ turkey
D - salmon/crayfish/prawns in chilli cheese sauce/ rhubarb and yoghurt
