The First Diary of Trudy C age 40 something!

Hey Trude

Just to echo the other girls, it's not boring to hear you posting, m'love, we're all here because we have the same 'problem'. And you know what they say about a problem, don't you .....? :D

Much love
P xxx

All of the above, and don't underestimate the power of commiserating!! I was in the same place as you, but I let 40lbs pile back on before I snapped out of it. I guess the hardest part is getting through the plateaus. Keep posting, might make you feel better and we are never bored of reading what you have to say :)

I always find it easier when I'm at my lowest with cravings to read on here and see I'm not alone in that, a lot of the time if I come on here and moan about cravings instead of first going to the kitchen I find they pass :) or someone fabulous comes along with a dukan friendly alternative! (or a strategically placed boot or marrow to knock some sense into me :D) x

Thanks gals, nice to be back reading you all....... Day two been okay calorie counting - part of the problem with me breaking Dukan I realise is my ability to eat huge quantities of food, as Dukan being unlimited in 'allowed' foods meant that I have still never dealt with my 'over eating'!!! I am having to limit amounts now and I hope that will help me in the long run but again baby steps and we will c!!! It is refreshing to be able to choose anything I want within my calorie allowance (obviously looking at fat content etc too) but we will c how I go! As I say my aim is still to get back onto conso if I can get rid of this excess weight! x

Great your back and totally agree with every word the girls have said. Its when we walk away from trying that were in trouble your back calorie counting like Ive said before were all on the same journey we just chose different road but all road lead to the same place. This is a weight loss forum for the good times and its even more needed when thing we are struggling. Post, twist, moan and and when the weight starts coming off again (and it will) I'll see you in conso xxx

Great to have you back Trudy xx we were all getting worried! We're all here to give support - we all know how hard it can be - been there and back lots of times! I know this blooming weather doesn't help!! Keep posting we love to read your diary and we're all here to help! Xxx

Nice to see you back hunny, we all struggle at times, i have many times considered giving up and trying something else, so your not alone there. If ever i do change, i think sticking to the basic principles of Dukan will help, especially when maintaining any loss. Look forward to reading about how you are getting on x

Trudy, Trudy, it's so good to hear from you again. You had been on Dukan for so long, I'm not at all surprised you needed a change. But don't stop posting, so easy to bury your head in the sand when you're not being accountable to yourself through your diary. I really hope the scales start moving in the right direction for you again soon. I really don't think this time of year helps. xx

Gosh portion control is hard!!! Blimmin heck - I have a bottomless pit for a tummy I think!!! Ate very low fat but quite carb laden today..... Need to look at that tomorrow.... Went shopping today and got some supplies in!!! I am obsessed with food - calorie counting is bringing it to the forefront..... But hopefully my appetite will decrease in the next couple of days when my body gets used to less food!!!! Mind you got some lovely veg today....... YUM!
Snow needs to go away now - v bored of it - think it is gonna freeze tonight which will be fun in the morning.
Went to the chiropractor yesterday and my back is not feeling great today!!!Hopefully it will improve in the next day or so!! No exercise allowed at the moment till it settles down...... Just work for now which is a bit of exercise in itself!!! LOL!

Hang in there Trudy, portion control is something I ll have to address at sometime, I hope when the weather breaks and improves so does your spiritsxxx

I do wish you luck, honestly I do Trudy. I know the calorie value for every food in existence if you need any help ;) (and I still got to 22 stone - DUH!!)...

I do hear you about the overeating on Dukan thing, cos I do it too, but Sara posted (AGAIN!) something which has stuck in my head ever since... about how, in her opinion, overeating on Dukan (and even beyond, provided it's on Dukan type foods but in Conso/Stab) is surely better than overeating on carbs/sugars/cr*p as we do whenever not on Dukan! Although I didn't comment, or even "like" the post, it's in my head... (Hello Sara!!)... and I'm thinking it's a very valid point.

Anyway hang in there - we're all with you so please don't stop posting, particularly if you're having difficulties at all. You know that most of us here are hanging by a thread and if we weren't in ketosis we'd not be nearly as smug! :)

Gals last night I went online researching the tummy tuck operation and was totally surprised that it was almost half the cost I thought it would be!!! After losing the weight my tummy is a right mess and I have always said I will get it done.... Another incentive to get this bit of a weight gain gone! Going to do a lot more research into it but looking at a consult in London before heading to Belgium..... as I said a lot more investigation needed but maybe possible!!!!! Day four of calorie counting commencing! LOL! - Feel better in myself being in control of SOMETHING!!! LOL! x

Trudyc, good luck with the calorie counting.
I had a tummy tuck 2 years ago & it changed the way I feel about my body completely & gave me the extra desire to maintain weight.

Official - going back to bed and trying to get up the other side!!! LOL! x

if you want to know where not to go for a tummy tuck pm me ;) ... a girl hubby worked with went abroad & was butchered... ended up in hospital here and was off work months... she had to go back to get the mess fixed.... I dont think i would have

If the promise to self of a tummy tuck is what you need to incentivise yourself, go for it! It is a bit sad when you lose all the weight and your tummy looks like a curtain that's become derailed! The skin on my legs has tautened up a bit (but that's where I'm still carrying the most fat!) but the belly ain't pretty and I have curtains of skin hanging from my upper arms when I hold them out - and I've lost half what you have! I remember Caledonia Dreaming rueing the havoc having been overweight so long had wreaked on her body - I wonder if her ears are burning? Take care, lovely xx

I know Sara, don't care atall about the rest of me - could swing my boobs over my shoulders they're that droopy and have prize winning bingo wings but they don't bother me - my tummy does and nothing I do will sort it other than surgery...... Waiting to hear from various people...... Hope I can work it out - hard to get good reviews from people who have had it done at various clinics.... Have personal recommendation for one in Hereford which would be great as close to home BUT think they will be vastly more expensive than the big operators such as Transform etc...... We will c! x

Trudyc
I know exactly what you mean about tummy skin.
How are you finding calorie counting?

I was offered plastic surgery on the (equivalent French) national health - I had to pay 10% only... they said I needed three body lifts, starting with legs, moving up to tummy (second operation), to boobs and arms (third operation). I had to have stabilised my weight for a year to 18 months. I wasn't up for it!

My skin issues definitely have improved with time.
