Step 1 Sole Source The Last Re-start!

Hi all,

I've been so engrossed in your posts all day- they are brilliant. I just had to comment. You have all done amazingly well and your so motivating for anyone who reads. I started to forget this was a weight loss forum and just looked forward to hearing about your day!

I'm not a re-starter, I'm a first timer
considering the CWP and have a consultation in the new year - why not start now? I'm staying at my parents Over Xmas and I'd have very little power in resisting temptation. Once into the new year I can empty the cupboards, throw away the takeaway menus and lock myself away to get through the hellish first couple of weeks I've read about!! Thankfully I don't have any OH's or children to watch eat every night, let alone prepare their meals-I don't know how you all do it! It truly is inspirational!!

I have 5st to lose so here's to a successful 2014! Filled with water, shakes and a sexier, confident persona :)

Hi Bubbles! Is great to hear from you - welcome aboard - and even better to hear the determination in your 'voice'! What's your start date? This is so exciting for you, I love it when people start CWP for the first time because there's no plan that's quite like it for shedding those pounds.... And best of all, if you stick to it and fight through to goal the first time you'll save yourself a lot of grief, AND keep the weight off.

My only tip would be limit your carbs as much as possible for the two weeks before you start Cambridge - I love savouries, so for me I cut down on crisps, potatoes, pasta etc etc miniscule portions compared to protein and veg. This limits the impact of going into ketosis on day 3 or 4.

Good for you honey in making this life changing decision - we'll all support you all the way :D And please do make Minimins your new home away from home; is what kept me going this time. Just think with 5 stone to lose, you'll be done in 4 and a half months!!!!! I've lost 3st 6lbs since October! Why don't you start a diary thread with how you feel now, you're motivations and why you're taking this step to reclaim your life? It's a wonderful tool to look back on and keep you motivated in the months ahead. Or better yet, just come ramble on here like the rest of us lol

Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely try to cut down my beloved potatoes and bread :( I have my consultation on the 1st so hopefully I can start properly on the 2nd and have days 3/4 over the weekend to minimise the effects at work (these seem to be the hardest days). I'll definitely start a diary, I was going to make a personal one but why not put it up here?? I've loved every second of reading your progress and ups and downs.

3st6 is an amazing loss! 4 1/2 months will be May.... Maybe I can wear a bikini on holiday this year!! Haha

And hope your new job goes well today! Hope you don't mind me subscribing even though I am not doing CWP (I have done in in the past). I did do SnS last year and on and off this year (more as a tool) and I am now doing 5:2 fast diet using SnS packs and so completely "get" vlcd.

That's fantastic. Got to love the next stone bracket. The 16's felt like forever to me. Well done.

I'm properly in holiday mode this morning so forgot to wish you good luck but hope the first day goes really well.

What a hectic day!! There wasa heck of a lot to learn, but I think I acquited myself well... And took reams of notes on HR terms and policy.... I'm SHATTERED lol but strangely loving the challenge.

Thank you for the 'luck' - I just may need it! :D

I've already been back at my parents for a week. I'm a little bit too organised when it comes to Xmas and have my shopping finished by the middle of November-I hate battling through those crowds! The only good thing about being big is that our sizes are still left on the rack haha

How's your Xmas plans going?
I'm so impressed everyone here has the willpower to battle through all those Xmas meals out etc.

Glad your day at work went well- with so many new things to learn that's a great opportunity to keep your mind off nasty carbs. How is it going so far down the line? Have you got used to ss or is it still a battle of wills not to eat a proper meal?

I will definitely send you the link to my thread-going to need all the nagging I can get! It's always a little bit easier if you've got someone to moan with isn't it!

Wow, today was pretty intense, but in a good way. I'm pretty sure I can rise to the challenge. And after14 years in my old job it feels rejuvenating to do something so far out of my comfort zone.... Thank you for your good wishes hon xx

How are you finding 5:2? My sister did LighterLife and lost 5 stone (I think that's right.... She gets so annoyed when I forget to the lb lol) she's maintained doing 5:2. I'm afraid I don't know a great deal about it..... Oh okay. I zoned out. Gerard Butler was half naked on TV at the time ! A sound defense, me thinks lol ;)

I'm thrilled with the 15st 13lbs :D It's the first mini goal I've set myself, and it's such a rush to get to it before Christmas! Your weight loss is phenomenal!! You're nearly at goal!!! Well done to you too.... And you clearly know the insanity that is a vlcd lol

I'm already back at my parents, but the weather is horrific isn't it! I'm a bit over obsessed when it comes to Xmas and have my shopping done mid-November. I hate all the crowds etc. mind you the only good thing about being fat is that our sizes are usually still on the sale racks! Next year it will be the opposite and our new sizes will still be on the sale rack because they're too small for everyone else!

How is your Xmas preparation going? I'm so impressed that everyone here is ploughing on through Xmas. All those Xmas parties etc. I really do admire you all.

Glad your first day at work was awesome. Just think- all that new stuff to learn will keep your mind well away from nasty carbs! Do you still find ss hard so far down the line? Or is it still a battle of willpower?

Aww! You're all so amazing for remembering me today! Thank you xxx It was good, tiring, but really good. Go, go, go - which is just how I like it :)

After the mini goal triumph, I couldn't resist popping into Dotty P's to try on a skirt I've been eyeing up for a while..... And the 18 was too big :D That put a spring in my step I can tell you :D Jeez! Shallow much? But I don't care - it made me happy..... I went out of my way to tell the sales assistant it was too small with a HUGE grin on my face ..... Chick just gave me a blank look. Come to think of it she wasn't standing any where near the changing room. And she hadn't even asked me anything (you know that "how was it" malarkey they always ask? For some reason I always want to reply" delicious" lol). Actually - now I think about it ..... maybe she didn't even work there!?! :eek: hahaha

Ho hum.

Count down to Christmas has begun.... back to work on Friday so I'll definitely be straight back on the wagon then (not that I'm expecting a huge fall from grace!) - my counsellor is coming on the 30th so no excuses, no stories - I want to show off a bit. The lovely guy has been rooting for me for two YEARS! xx

5:2 worked for me in the summer to maintain but I think to lose weight there has to be a calorie deficit on the non fast days. So at least for the festive period I will at worst sts hopefully rather than gain. I am finding it ok but only because mentally I think I am committed to shifting this last bit. Of course reading posts of successful vlcder's make me stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with it!

Ps my thread is switching to metric weigh ins! I'm always changing the title!

Keep doing what works for you.... What are you going to do food-wise for Christmas? Thank you so so much for your lovely compliments xx I'm glad the posts from all of us are some use. They're fun to write in a "I can be totally true and not judged way" :D

Merry Christmas!! Your posts made me smile! Well we had turkey (organise free range etc), and all the trimmings and now I feel like a stuffed turkey! So basically all restraint went out of the window!! Mind you I wasn't too bad Christmas Eve but more than made up today! So tomorrow I will either go cole turkey (excuse the pun!) and vlcd as a fast day or eat be show some restraint. Undecided and will see how I feel in the morning about having another day off.

Hope you had a lovely day inspire of shake for lunch!
